A scheme for character restoration of Jiagu rubbings based on poisson distribution and fractal geometry is proposed in this paper. The distribution characteristics of the connected regions on Jiagu rubbings is analyzed, and all the connected regions are recognized according to differences between these and their mathematical expectations. regions are recognized as noise regions and filled if the differences are negative, while stroke regions are reserved. The attributes of the character image edges on Jiagu rubbings are also analyzed. The fractal dimensions of the character edge of Jiagu rubbings are calculated by means of statistics. The feature points are obtained using the cosine of the angle between the two vectors of the point and the consecutive two points. Different compression transformations with weighted coordinates are performed on different strokes and segments of the characters so as to smoothen the character edge of Jiagu rubbings images. Experimental results show that our scheme could successfully clear noise regions and polish the character edge of Jiagu rubbings.

It is usually very difficult to directly obtain molecular dissociation energy De and all accurate high-lying vibrational energies for most diatomic electronic states using modern experimental techniques or quantum theories, and it is also very difficult to give accurate analytical expression for diatomic molecular dissociation energy. This study proposes a new analytical formula for obtaining accurate molecular dissociation energy based on the Leroy and Bernstein’s energy expression in dissociation limit. A set of full vibrational energy spectra for some electronic states of N2 molecule are studied using the algebraic method (AM) suggested recently, and the corresponding accurate molecular dissociation energies are evaluated using the proposed new formula and high-lying AM vibrational energies. The results show that the AM spectra and the new theoretical dissociation energies agree excellently with experimental data, and thereby providing a new physical approach to generating accurate dissociation energies for electronic states of diatomic molecules.

This paper presents a definition of L-fuzzifying nets and the related L-fuzzifying generalized convergence spaces. The Moore-Smith convergence is established in L-fuzzifying topology. It is shown that the category of L-fuzzifying generalized convergence spaces is a cartesianclosed topological category which embeds the category of L-fuzzifying topological spaces as a reflective subcategory.

A quasi-physical algorithm for solving the linear separation problem in n-dimensional space

A quasi physical algorithm was proposed for solving the linear separation problem of point set in n dimensional *** original idea of the quasi physical algorithm is to find an equivalent physical world for the primitive mathematical problem and to observe the vivid images of the motion of matter in it so as to be inspired to obtain an algorithm for solving the mathematical problem. In this work, the electrostatics with two kinds of matter is found to be the equivalent physical world. As a result,the proposed algorithm is evidently more efficient and robust than the famous LMS algorithm and ETL algorithm. The efficiency of the quasi physical algorithm is about 10-50 times of the LMS algorithm’s for representative instances. A typical Boolean valued instance shows that it is hard for ETL algorithm but very easy for the quasi physical *** this instance, point set A and B is {000, 010, 011, 111} and {001,100}, respectively.

Up-conversion emissions of Er^(3+)-Yb^(3+) codoped Al_2O_3 nanoparticles by the arc discharge synthesis method

The Er3+-Yb3+ codoped Al2O3 nanoparticles with an average particle size of about 50 nm have been synthesized by an arc discharge synthesis method. The green and red up-conversion emissions centered at about 526, 54. and 677 nm, corresponding respectively to the 2H11/2→4.15/2, 4.3/2→4.15/2 and 4.F9/2→4.15/2 transitions of Er3+, were detected by a 978-nm semiconductor laser diode excitation. The Annealing has evident effect on the up-conversion emissions of the samples: The red up-conversion emission is noticeable before annealing; however, the green up-conversion emission becomes predominant after annealing. The mixture of (Er,Yb)3Al5O12 and α-(Al,Er,Yb)2O3 phases is more favorable for green up-conversion emissions due to an enhancement of the ESA (I) of 4.11/2+a photon→4.7/2 and ET (III) of 2F5/2(Yb3+)+4.11/2(Er3+)→2F7/2(Yb3+)+4.7/2(Er3+) processes. The two-photon absorption up-conversion process is involved in the green and red up-conversion emissions. The results have proved that arc discharge synthesis is a new promising preparation technology for optical materials.

A New Clustering Algorithm for Categorical Attributes

In traditional data clustering, similarity of a cluster of objects is measured by distance between objects. Such measures are not appropriate for categorical data. A new clustering criterion to determine the similarity between points with categorical attributes is pre- sented. Furthermore, a new clustering algorithm for categorical attributes is addressed. A single scan of the dataset yields a good clus- tering, and more additional passes can be used to improve the quality further.

Fuzzy tolerance quotient spaces and fuzzy subsets

The structure and characteristic of fuzzy subsets are discussed by using the concepts of granulation and hierarchy in quotient space theory. First, the equivalence relation based quotient space theory is extended to the fuzzy tolerance relation. Second, the isomorphism and its discriminant of fuzzy tolerance relations are discussed. Finally, by using the fuzzy tolerance relation to define the fuzzy subset, its properties are addressed. The main results are given below: (1) several equivalent statements of fuzzy tolerance relations; (2) the definition of isomorphism of fuzzy tolerance relations; (3) the isomorphic discriminant of fuzzy tolerance relations; (4. the definition and properties of fuzzy subsets based on the fuzzy tolerance relations; and (5) the necessary and sufficient condition of the isomorphism of fuzzy subsets. These results will help us further comprehend the concepts of fuzzy tolerance relations and fuzzy subsets.

Level Set interface treatment method is introduced into Euler method,which is employed for interface treatment method for multi-materials. Combined with the ghost fluid method,the moving interface is tracked. Fifth-order WENO spatial discretization and third-order TVD runge-Kutta time discretization methods are used. Shock-wave action on bubble,implosion and velocity field Shock effect bubbles; implosion and velocity field are simulated by means of LS-MMIC3D programmed by C++. Nu-merical results show that the Level Set interface treatment method is effective and feasible for multi-material interface treatment in comparison with the WENO method.
