The early Precambrian North china craton(NCC) in eastern Hebei Province(also known as the Jidong area) was intruded by granitic batholiths and plutons spatially associated with gold deposits. No consensus has been reached regarding timing and tectonic setting of the gold deposits,chiefly due to the lack of reliable geochronological *** gold deposits in the district are localized by NE-striking faults within granite plutons and/or nearby Archean amphibolites,as well as in Proterozoic sedimentary *** mineralizations in the area are characterized by quartz(±albite) veinand sulfide-disseminated styles;both types of ores have relatively low sulfide contents(3.to 17 wt%NaCl equiv.),HO-CO±CH,N solutions, with CO contents in the inclusions ranging from 5 to 4. mol%.Fluid inclusion homogenization temperatures are between 24. and 4.0℃,and estimates of the trapping pressures vary significantly from 0.5 to 3.7 *** isotope(O,H,S,C,and Pb) data from these deposits indicate a major magmatic component in the mineralizing fluids and the ore-forming materials,with a partial contribution by Archean host rocks,suggesting that these deposits are basically intrusion-related. {4. zircon U-Pb geochronology of the gold-hosting granitic intrusions,in combination with previous Ar-Ar and Rb-Sr dates on hydrothermal minerals(e.g.,sericite),indicates that there was no Archean gold mineralization,but instead suggests that at least three episodes of granitic magmatism and associated gold mineralization took place during the Mesozoic.

Sm-Nd isotopic system is a powerful tracer and dating tool in geochemistry and cosmochemistry. Thermal ionization mass spectrometry(TIMS) is the benchmark method for obtaining high precision Nd isotope ***,a two-step separation was employed in order to obtain high purity Nd fraction,which makes the sample preparation *** this study,we present a new method to directly obtain precise and accurate Nd isotope ratios of geological samples without Sm-Nd separation. The key point is to well correct isobaric interferences of Sm on Nd for this *** accurate intensity of Sm can be obtained using Sm/Sm ratio of 4.87090 and mass discrimination factor of Sm(β),which is achieved using Sm/Sm ratio of 1.08583.with Russell ***,the real intensity of Nd was achieved,then also raw Nd/Nd,Nd/Nd ***,Nd/Nd ratio is normalized using Nd/Nd ratio of 0.7219 following exponential *** accuracy of this method is validated by replicating TIMS measurements for thirteen international reference materials of silicate rock,spanning a wide range of Sm/Nd from 0.13.to 0.4. and bulk *** measured Nd/Nd ratios of the rock standards are in good agreement with the reported values of within error of±0.004..Our new method shortens the analytical procedure and significantly improves sample throughput which greatly contributes to those studies requiring a large dataset and quick analysis.

The Shiyingtan gold deposit,located in a Late Paleozoic volcanic sequence along the northern margin of Tarim plate and western part of Kanggurtag metallogenic belt,was the first low-sulfidation epithermal gold deposit discovered in the eastern part of the Tianshan range,NW *** deposit is closely associated with an arcuate fracture system along the margins of a Permian *** mineralization is hosted in andesite,ignimbrites,and volcanic breccia with magmatic ages of ca.290-270 *** main orebodies,with a combined 200 000 oz Au resource,are composed of a series of steep,interconnected, crustiform-banded quartz veins,which together are as wide as 20 m and extend to depths of>200 *** gangue minerals in the ore-bearing veins consist of quartz,chalcedony,calcite,chlorite,adularia and sericite;metallic minerals mainly include pyrite,chalcopyrite,native gold,and *** temperatures and salinities of primary fluid inclusions in quartz vary from 13. to 250℃and from 0.8 to 6.7 wt%NaCl equiv.,*** and oxygen isotope data indicate that the mineralizing fluid was mainly of meteoric *** geologic and geochemical investigations confirm that the Shiyingtan gold deposit is a Late Paleozoic epithermal gold deposit of the adularia-sericite type.

The igneous rocks in southeastern Hubei Province are mainly Yangshanian syntectic intermediate-acid magrnatic series. According to their regional geological setting, characteristics of ithochemistry, isotope,REE and metallogenic type, the syntectic intermediate-acid magmatic series can be further divided into two subseries: diorite-quartz monzonite magmatic subseries with high content of alkali and sodium, and quartz diorite - granodiorite magmatic subseries with low content of alkali and high potassium. They controlled the distribution and type of iron and copper ore deposits in this area

Natural gas origins of large and medium-scale gas fields in china sedimentary basins

china sedimentary basins present abundant natural gas resource thanks to its unique geological *** highly-matured hydrocarbon source rocks,widespread coal-measure strata and low temperature Quaternary saline strata,etc.,indicate the wide foreground of china natural gas resources. Up to now,most of the petroliferous basins have been discovered to have wholesale natural gas accumulation from Precambrian,Paleozoic,Mesozoic to Cenozoic in the east,the central,the west and the coast of *** large and medium-scale gas reservoirs are mainly composed of hydrocarbon gas with big dry coefficient,tiny non-hydrocarbon,wide carbon {3. distribution and varying origin types,the hydrocarbon gas includes coal-formed gas,oil-formed gas,biogenic gas and inorganic gas, ***-formed gas is the main type of china natural gas resources,in particular several explored large-scale gas fields(>100 billion cubic meter)of Kela 2,Sulige and Daniudi,etc.,they all belong to coal-formed gas fields or the gas fields consisting mostly of coal-formed ***-formed gas is also abundant in china marine basins,for example marine natural gas of Sichuan Basin generated from crude oil cracking *** and secondary biogenic gas fields were discovered respectively in the Qaidam Basin and Western Slope of Songliao *** addition,inorganic gases are mainly distributed in the eastern china,in particular the Songliao Basin with abundant carbon dioxide accumulation,indicating that the eastern china present large exploration potential of inorganic gas.

Using newly determined Sm isotopic abundances for correcting the isobaric interference of Sm on Nd and the established mass bias relationship between Sm and Nd,a series of in situ Nd isotopic measurements were conducted for relatively high Nd concentrations of natural geological materials, including apatite,titanite,monazite and perovskite on a Neptune multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(MC-ICPMS),coupled to a 193.nm ArF excimer laser ablation *** results show that Ce has no significant influence on the precision and accuracy of Nd isotopic analyses for LREE-enriched geological minerals and that our approach is efficient in obtaining reliable Nd/Nd and Sm/Nd ratios for those materials with Sm/Ndisotope data,the in situ Nd isotopic data can provide important information on geological processes.

AGE OF THE ALTYN TAGH STRIKE—SLIP FAULT

A 100～500m\|wide mylonite zone in the Altun Group of Lower Proterozoic age was discovered along the Altyn Tagh strike\|slip fault. The zone is mainly composed of amphibolitic and granitic mylonites. The planar joints of the rocks strike in NE70 and dip steeply (nearly vertical), coincident with the striking of Altyn Tagh fault zone, and their stretched lineations are nearly horizontal. Shear strains are well developed and show sinistral sheared. The amphibolitic and granitic mylonites are most probably the products of deep\|seated melting caused by sinistral strike\|slip shearing as suggested by the evidence below: (1) The migmatization is intensely developed and spatially controlled by the shear zone, and the rock has a set of NNE perspective foliation which is in accord with the direction of the Altyn Tagh strike\|slip fault zone. (2) The recrystallized hornblende aggregate is distributed in band with obvious nebulous texture, indicating the characteristics of anatexis, and the hornblendes are oriented and form the nearly horizontal stretching lineation; some hornblendes have titanite inclusions, and magmatic long\|columnar zircons are in directional arrangement.(3. The banded felsic material is developed, and the plagioclase is characteristic of high\|temperature plastic deformation and shows sinistral shear stain. (4. In mylonites, all the axis C fabric of quartz shows the feature of sinistral shearing and the majority is generally middle to low temperature fabric, but there also exists high temperature fabric, which suggests that high temperature shearing occur in the early stage of strike\|slip deformation and it is characterized by middle to low temperature shearing at the beginning of anatexis or in the late stage of the deformation. (5) On the XZ plane of mylonite and mylonitized rocks, there exists the consistent sinistral shear stain, which suggests the products of the same strike\|slip *** were separated from three samples of mylonitized gra

It is difficult to do internal mass fractionation corrections for isotope dilution analysis by thermal ionization mass spectrometry(TIMS) or multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS),especially for *** this study,calculation methods for direct internal fractionation correction of spiked isotope analysis by TIMS or MC-ICP-MS cycle by cycle for elements having at least two internal reference isotopic ratios are *** TIMS,direct internal mass fractionation correction calculation methods,based on both power and exponential laws,are derived;whereas for MC-ICP-MS,due to larger mass fractionation effects,only exponential law is *** calculation strategies can be applied for both static and multi-dynamic *** multi-dynamic measurements,the isotope fractionation effect,gain and cup efficiency effects of different collectors,as well as ion beam fluctuation effects are all simultaneously *** calculation methods were verified by Sr isotopic analyses of spiked NBS987 standard solutions by TIMS and Hf isotopic analyses of spiked {3. reference materials by *** addition,precise and accurate calibrations of isotopic ratios of the spikes,based on the calculation methods,are discussed.

Lithium isotopes have many advantageous characteristics as geochemical tracers for a wide range of geological processes,covering fluid/melt-mineral interactions from the Earth’s surface to the *** latest developments in Li isotope geochemistry,in terms of measuring techniques, major geochemical reservoirs,the contrasting behaviors during near-surface weathering,and crust/ mantle cycling of materials in subduction zones,as well as the signature of convective mantle,and controlling factors in Li isotopic fractionation are briefly reviewed in this *** better quantification of partition coefficients(mineral-melt/fluid) and fractionation factors(such as temperature and diffusion coefficients),the Li isotope system will become a powerful geochemical tracer in future studies.
