Up-conversion emissions of Er^(3.)-Yb^(3.) codoped Al_2._3.nanoparticles by the arc discharge synthesis method

The Er3.-Yb3. codoped Al2.3.nanoparticles with an average particle size of about 50 nm have been synthesized by an arc discharge synthesis method. The green and red up-conversion emissions centered at about 52., 547 and 677 nm, corresponding respectively to the 2.1./2.4I1./2. 4S3.2.4I1./2.and 4 F9/2.4I1./2.transitions of Er3., were detected by a 978-nm semiconductor laser diode excitation. The Annealing has evident effect on the up-conversion emissions of the samples: The red up-conversion emission is noticeable before annealing; however, the green up-conversion emission becomes predominant after annealing. The mixture of (Er,Yb)3.l5O1.2}and α-(Al,Er,Yb)2.3.phases is more favorable for green up-conversion emissions due to an enhancement of the ESA (I) of 4I1./2.a photon→4F7/2.and ET (III) of 2.5/2.Yb3.)+4I1./2.Er3.)→2.7/2.Yb3.)+4F7/2.Er3.) processes. The two-photon absorption up-conversion process is involved in the green and red up-conversion emissions. The results have proved that arc discharge synthesis is a new promising preparation technology for optical materials.

Setting in the mobile robots in the damageable unknown environment, the paper is to do research on the self-repair design for recombining the internal control system by the self-reconfigurable-robots’ reconfigurable control algorithms in remote control application. This paper discussed the reconfigurable design preventing being damaged later from the aspects of the reconfigurable and self-repairable subassembly design of the remote control system, the embedded operating system design of the self-reconfigurable robots, operating system scheduling for the hardware mission, operating system scheduling for the software system, multiprocessing embedded supported cooperative system and Multi-Agent System principle etc.

The hot working behavior especially dynamic recrystallization of low-carbon and medium-carbon vanadium microalloy steels has been studied by performing isothermally compression tests and Avrami *** Avrami plots of the two experiment steels have been constructed based on flow stress curves following a new approach (Jonas,et *** Mater.,2.09,57(2.:2.48-2.56;Wu et al,Acta ***.,2.1.,46(7):83.-843..It is experimentally found that the carbon effect on dynamic recrystallization is opposite to each other in lower and higher strain ranges:Carbon causes a softening effect at low strain rates (0.01.0.1.and 1.0 s-1.,and a hardening effect at high strain rates (1..0 and 3..0 s-1..Correspondingly,carbon promotes the dynamic recrystallization at low strain rates and retards the dynamic recrystallization at high strain rates in the experimental *** phenomenon is then tentatively explained based on the possible mechanisms of dynamic process at different strain rates.

Antihyperglycemic effects of total ginsenosides from leaves and stem of Panax ginseng

Aim:The antihyperglycemic effects of the total ginsenosides in Chinese ginseng(TGCG),extracted from leaves and the stem,were evaluated in diabetic C57BL/6Job/ob ***:Animals received daily intraperitoneal injections of TGCG(1.0 and 2.0 mg/kg)or oral administration(1.0 and {1.0 mg/kg)for 1.0}*** glucose levels and body weight were measured after fasting the animals for4 *** glucose use was also measured using an intraperitoneal glucosetolerance ***:In the injection group,a high dose of TGCG(2.0 mg/kg)significantly lowered the fasting blood glucose levels in ob/ob mice on d 1.0}1.{1.1. mg/dL vs 2.{1.9.8 mg/dL,P1.compared to vehicle-treated group).In theoral group,blood glucose decreased notably with a dose of TGCG({1.0 mg/kg)ond 1.0}1.9.1.1.0}6 mg/dL vs 2.1.6±1.1.8 mg/dL,P1.0}d ofTGCG({1.0 mg/kg)treatment in mice from the oral ***:Theresults indicated that in a diabetic ob/ob mouse model TGCG was endowed withsignificant anti-hyperglycemic and anti-obesity ***,the totalginsenosides extracted from Chinese ginseng leaves and the stem may have somepotential for treating diabetes.

Microstructures of an AlSi_7Mg alloy by near-liquidus casting

Semi-solid ingots of an A1.iTMg alloy were obtained using the method of near liquidus casting. Their microstructures exhibit the characteristics of free, equiaxed, and non-dendrite, which are required for semi-solid forming. The influences of casting temperature, heat preservation time, and cooling rate on the microstructure were also investigated. The results show that in the temperature region near liquidus the grain size becomes small with a decrease in casting temperature. Prolonging the heat preservation time makes grain crassitude at the same temperature. And increasing the cooling rate makes grain fine. The microstructure of the alloy cast with iron mould is freer than that with graphite mould.

This paper investigates the visual servoing robust stabilization of nonholonomic mobile robots. The calibration of visual parameters is not only complicated, but also needs great consumption of calculated time so that the accurate calibration is impossible in some situations for high requirement of real timing. Hence, it is interesting and important to consider the design of stabilizing controllers for nonholonomic kinematic systems with uncalibrated visual parameters. A novel uncertain model of these nonholonomic kinematic systems is proposed. Based on this model, a stabilizing controller is discussed by using dynamic feedback and two-step techniques. The proposed robust controller makes the mobile robot image pose and the orientation converge to the desired configuration despite the lack of depth information and the lack of precise visual parameters. The stability of the closed loop system is rigorously proved. The simulation is given to show the effectiveness of the presented controllers.

AIM: To investigate effects of cyclooxygenase 2.(COX-2. inhibitors on nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells and on angiogenesis in vitro. METHODS: Human NPC cell lines (CNE1, CNE2.and SUNE) were treated with nimesulide or celecoxib. MTT assay and colony formation assay were performed to observe antiproliferation activity of COX-2.inhibitors to NPC cell lines. Cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of NPC cell strains were tested by flow cytometry assay, microscopic morphology observation, and DNA fragmentation assay. The effect of COX- 2.inhibitor on angiogenesis was tested by chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model. RESULTS: Nimesulide (Nim) and celecoxib (Cel) could antiproliferate NPC cell lines with IC50 182.μmol/LNim-SUNE, 78 μmol/LNim-CNE1, 175 μmol/LNim-CNE2. 7.2.μmol/LCel-SUNE, 8.1 μmol/LCel-CNE1, and 7.6 μmol/LCel-CNE2. The antiproliferation presented dose- dependent (Nim5-400 μmol/L, Cel 0.5-80μmol/L) and time-dependent manner (Nim IC50 562.μmol/L2. , 3.6 μmol/L48 , h h 50.1 μmol/L2.0 ). Nim and Cel arrested SUNE and CNE1 cell cycle at phase G2.M (cell aggregation rate 2..9 %- h 45.1 %Nim 2.-2.0μmol-12.h-SUNE , 18.9%-2..2.%Nim 2.-2.0μmol-2. h-SUNE ,2..8 %-3..6%Nim 2.-2.0 μmol-48 h-SUNE ,3..4 %-16.4%Cel 2.-100μmol-12.h-SUNE , 2..2.%-19.7 %Cel 2.-100 μmol-2. h-SUNE, 3..1 %-19.9 %Cel 2.-100 μmol-2. h-SUNE, 2..5 %-3..1 %Nim2.-2.0 μmol-12.h-CNE1, 2..2.%- 2..9 %Nim 2.-2.0 μmol-2. h-CNE1 , 11.5 %-7.1 %Nim 2.-2.0 μmol-48 h-CNE1).
