Analysis of spatio-temporal pattern and driving force of land cover change using multi-temporal remote sensing images

Landuse and land cover change is regarded as a good indicator that represents the impact of human activities on earth’s *** the large collection of multi-temporal satellite images has become available,it is possible to study a long-term historical process of land cover *** study aims to investigate the spatio-temporal pattern and driving force of land cover change in the Pearl River Delta region in southern china,where the rapid development has been witnessed since *** fast economic growth has been associated with an accelerated expansion of urban landuse,which has been recorded by historical remote sensing *** paper reports the method and outcome of the research that attempts to model spatio-temporal pattern of land cover change using multi-temporal satellite *** classified satellite images were compared to detect the change from various landuse types to built-up *** trajectories of land cover change have then been established based on the time-series of the classified land cover *** correlation between the expansion of built-up areas and selected economic data has also been analysed for better understanding on the driving force of the rapid urbanisation *** result shows that,since early 1990s,the dominant trend of land cover change has been from farmland to urban *** relationship between economic growth indicator(measured by GDP)and built-up area can well fit into a linear regression model with correlation coefficients greater than *** is quite clear that cities or towns have been sprawling in general,demonstrating two growth models that were closely related to the economic development stages.

There is an urgent necessity to shift our diets toward those rich in fruits and vegetables and at reduce postharvest losses of *** 20%-50%of fruits and vegetables are lost due to poor postharvest handling and pathogen infections in developing countries while it was estimated as 5%-35%in developed countries. Fresh fruits have evolved with a plethora of microorganisms having important roles in maintaining fruit health. However, little information is available on the dynamics, structure, and functional capacities of underpinning fruit microbiomes. The present review discussed environmental conditions favoring fruit-harbored antagonists and their different modes of action for suppressing postharvest pathogens in fruits. It also provides information on omics technologies such as next-generation sequencing (NGS),metaproteomics, metatranscriptomic, and metabolomics studies to characterize fruit microbiomes. With the advent of NGS and meta-omics technologies, microbiome research could bring remarkable development and understanding in succeeding biological treatments. In addition, they may provide us with a fundamental understanding of microclimate requirements for fruit microbiome establishment and microbiome shifts during post-harvest storage, which would be advantageous in developing composite biocontrol treatments for post-harvest decay management.

Linear mixed models are popularly used to fit continuous longitudinal data, and the random effects are commonly assumed to have normal distribution. However, this assumption needs to be tested so that further analysis can be proceeded well. In this paper, we consider the Baringhaus-Henze-Epps-Pulley （BHEP） tests, which are based on an empirical characteristic function. Differing from their case, we consider the normality checking for the random effects which are unobservable and the test should be based on their predictors. The test is consistent against global alternatives, and is sensitive to the local alternatives converging to the null at a certain rate arbitrarily close to 1/V~ where n is sample size. ^-hlrthermore, to overcome the problem that the limiting null distribution of the test is not tractable, we suggest a new method： use a conditional Monte Carlo test （CMCT） to approximate the null distribution, and then to simulate p-values. The test is compared with existing methods, the power is examined, and several examples are applied to illustrate the usefulness of our test in the analysis of longitudinal data.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors:breakthroughs in cancer treatment

Over the past two decades,immunotherapies have increasingly been considered as first-line treatments for most *** such treatment is immune checkpoint blockade(ICB),which has demonstrated promising results against various solid tumors in clinical *** antibodies(mAbs)are currently available as immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs).These ICIs target specific immune checkpoints,including cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen-4.CTLA-4.and programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1).Clinical trial results strongly support the feasibility of this immunotherapeutic ***,a substantial proportion of patients with cancer develop resistance or tolerance to treatment,owing to tumor immune evasion mechanisms that counteract the host immune ***,substantial research focus has been aimed at identifying additional ICIs or synergistic inhibitory receptors to enhance the effectiveness of anti-PD-1,anti-programmed cell death ligand 1(anti-PD-L1),and anti-CTLA-4.***,several immune checkpoint molecular targets have been identified,such as T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains(TIGIT),mucin domain containing-3(TIM-3),lymphocyte activation gene-3(LAG-3),V-domain immunoglobulin suppressor of T cell activation(VISTA),B and T lymphocyte attenuator(BTLA),and signal-regulatory proteinα(SIRPα).Functional m Abs targeting these molecules are under ***-4.PD-1/PD-L1,and other recently discovered immune checkpoint proteins with distinct structures are at the forefront of *** review discusses these structures,as well as clinical progress in m Abs targeting these immune checkpoint molecules and their potential applications.

Pure organic materials with persistent and efficient room-temperature phosphorescence have recently aroused great research interest due to their vast potential in *** crucial design principle for such materials is to suppress as much as possible the non-radiative decay of the triplet exciton while maintaining a moderate phosphorescent radiative ***,molecular engineering often exhibits similar regulation trends for the two ***,we propose that the quantum interference caused by aggregation can be utilized to control the phosphorescent and non-radiative decay *** systematically analyze various constructive and destructive transition pathways in aggregates with different molecular packing types and establish clear relationships between the luminescence characters and the signs of the singlet and triplet excitonic *** is shown that the decay channels can be flexibly switched on or off by regulating the packing type and excitonic *** importantly,an enhanced phosphorescent decay and a completely suppressed non-radiative decay can be simultaneously realized in the aggregate packed with inversion *** work lays the theoretical foundation for future experimental realization of quantum interference effects in phosphorescence.

Targeted multi-agent communication algorithm based on state control

As an important mechanism in multi-agent interaction,communication can make agents form complex team relationships rather than constitute a simple set of multiple independent ***,the existing communication schemes can bring much timing redundancy and irrelevant messages,which seriously affects their practical *** solve this problem,this paper proposes a targeted multiagent communication algorithm based on state control(SCTC).The SCTC uses a gating mechanism based on state control to reduce the timing redundancy of communication between agents and determines the interaction relationship between agents and the importance weight of a communication message through a series connection of hard-and self-attention mechanisms,realizing targeted communication message *** addition,by minimizing the difference between the fusion message generated from a real communication message of each agent and a fusion message generated from the buffered message,the correctness of the final action choice of the agent is *** evaluation using a challenging set of Star Craft II benchmarks indicates that the SCTC can significantly improve the learning performance and reduce the communication overhead between agents,thus ensuring better cooperation between agents.

Assimilation of GOES-R Geostationary Lightning Mapper Flash Extent Density Data in GSI 3DVar, EnKF, and Hybrid En3DVar for the Analysis and Short-Term Forecast of a Supercell Storm Case

Capabilities to assimilate Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite “R-series ”(GOES-R) Geostationary Lightning Mapper(GLM) flash extent density(FED) data within the operational Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation ensemble Kalman filter(GSI-EnKF) framework were previously developed and tested with a mesoscale convective system(MCS) case. In this study, such capabilities are further developed to assimilate GOES GLM FED data within the GSI ensemble-variational(EnVar) hybrid data assimilation(DA) framework. The results of assimilating the GLM FED data using 3DVar, and pure En3DVar(PEn3DVar, using 100% ensemble covariance and no static covariance) are compared with those of EnKF/DfEnKF for a supercell storm case. The focus of this study is to validate the correctness and evaluate the performance of the new implementation rather than comparing the performance of FED DA among different DA schemes. Only the results of 3DVar and pEn3DVar are examined and compared with EnKF/DfEnKF. Assimilation of a single FED observation shows that the magnitude and horizontal extent of the analysis increments from PEn3DVar are generally larger than from EnKF, which is mainly caused by using different localization strategies in EnFK/DfEnKF and PEn3DVar as well as the integration limits of the graupel mass in the observation operator. Overall, the forecast performance of PEn3DVar is comparable to EnKF/DfEnKF, suggesting correct implementation.
