It has been shown that Bid and its truncated form tBid could induce cytochrome c (cyt c) release without impacting on PTP. We first show that Bid BH3 peptide, but not its mutant form of Bid BH3 peptide G94E, which is unable to bind to Bcl-xL, induces permeability transition pore (PTP) opening in a dose dependent manner. Bid BH3 peptide also induces the reduction of mitochondria membrane potential (Ψm) and cyt c release from mitochondrial in vitro. PTP opening and the loss of Ψm, were inhibited by Bcl-xL, cyclosporin A and ruthenium red, and the latter was an inhibitor of Ca2. uniporter in the mitochondrial membrane. These results indicate that Bid BH3 peptide could antagonize Bcl-xL to induced PTP opening and mitochondrial dysfunction.

Integration of exogenous sequence into an intact genome may cause some artificial phenotype or unspecific *** noticed that there is unspecific vascular expression when using flila:EGFP transgenic embryos for whole-mount in situ hybridization(WISH) *** therefore tested whether the residual vector sequence contained in the fli1a:EGFP transgene or the integration of transgene into the genome may cause this expression ’noise’ and/or deregulation of gene expression at a genome-wide *** probes were synthesized using two different methods,i.e. vector-based and *** vector-based dnmt3 probe showed unspecific vascular expression in *** embryos, but not in wildtype embryos,by ***,we also found that compared to that in wildtype,there were alterations in gene expression at whole-genome level in the *** embryos by microarray analysis. Conclusions:Our finding that the vector sequence contained in the *** genome causes unspecific vascular expression by WISH and the genome-wide expression profiling is altered in *** embryos strongly argue that extra caution should be taken for data interpretation when using transgenics,such as ***,in developmental biology studies.

The paper firstly defined the remote sensing information quantification, analyzed the necessity of developing remote sensing quantification, figured out the application guidelines requirement, and pointed out the importance of quantification research. Then taking the remote sensing application research of CBERS-02.data quantification as the example, the paper described the whole quantification system of “remotely sensed digital signal-radiation information-field parameter inversion”. Finally the paper gave the prospect for the development trend of the quantitative remote sensing.

Acquisition footprint is a new concept to describe the seismic noise in three-dimensional seismic exploration and it is closely related to geometry and observation shuttering. At present, the study on acquisition footprints has become a hot spot. In partnership with the Dagang Oilfield, we used the channel sand body seismic physical model to study the characteristics of wide/narrow azimuth acquisition footprints and analyzed and compared the two types of footprints and their effects on target imaging. In addition, the footprints caused by data processing of the normal moveout offset （NMO） stretching aberration were discussed. These footprints are located only in the shallow or middle layer in the time slice, and possibly affect the imaging of shallow target layers, and have no influence on deep target imaging. Seismic physical modeling has its advantages in the study of acquisition footprints.

Based on the microcosmic mechanics of composite materials, an elastic constitutive model for frozen soil with damage is presented. For frozen sandy soil with a range of ice contents and under a range of temperature conditions, quantitative results determined by this constitutive model agree with practically measured stress-strain curves. After numerically simulating the coupled water, temperature and stress fields of channel frozen and frozen roadbed using a self-developed finite-element routine, more accurate and practical calculation results for the temperature field coupled with stress, displacement and strain fields are obtained; the results match predictions and tests undertaken by earlier researchers. Our results support the reliability of our routine for calculating interdependent physical quantities of frozen soil and for describing the relationships between them. Our program can offer necessary constraints for engineering design and construction in permafrost regions.

In order to estimate water resources renewability scientifically, an Ideal Interval Method of Multiple Objective Decision-Making (IIMMODM) is presented. This method is developed through improving an ideal point method of multiple objective decision-making. The ideal interval is obtained with assessment standard instead of ideal points. The weights are decided by using the basic point and gray code accelerating genetic algorithm. This method has synthesized the expert’s suggestion and avoided giving a mark for the objective again. It could solve the complicated problem of compatible or incompatible multi-objective assessment. The principle of IIMMODM is presented in this paper. It is used to assess the water resources renewability for nine administrative divisions in the Yellow River basin. The result shows that the water resources renewability in the Yellow River basin is very low. Compared with the gray associate analysis method, fuzzy synthesis method and genetic projection pursuit method, the IIMMODM is easier to use. Compared with the ideal point method of multiple objective decision-making, the IIMMODM has good robustness, which is applicable to the comprehensive assessments of water resources.

River regulation and river training have been performed for various purposes and negative effects have been shown in numerous cases. In some cases the negative effects are so serious that humans have to consider to "renaturalize" the regulated rivers. Only by using the strategy of integrated river management the diverse river uses and natural fluvial processes and ecological systems may be harmonized. Based on analysis of case studies and data collected from literatures this paper presents the concept of integrated river management and four principles of river training. The integrated river management comprises: 1) taking the watershed, upper stream basin including the tributaries, middle and lower reaches and the estuary as an integrated entity in the planning, design and management; and 2. mitigating or controlling the negative impacts on hydrology, erosion and sedimentation, fluvial processes, land use and river use, environment and ecology while in achieving economic benefit from water resources development, flood safety management and hydropower exploitation. River training and management should be in accordance with the four principles: 1) extending the duration of river water flowing on the continent, which may be achieved by extending the river course or reducing the flow velocity; 2. controlling various patterns of erosions and reducing the sediment transportation in the rivers; 3) increasing the diversity of habitat and enhancing the connectivity between the river and riparian waters; and 4) restoring natural landscapes.

This paper reviews a large number of genes under positive Darwinian selection in modern human populations, such as brain development genes, immunity genes, reproductive related genes, perception receptors. The research on the evolutionary property of these genes will provide important insight into human evolution and disease mechanisms. With the increase of population genetics and comparative genomics data, more and more evidences indicate that positive Darwinian selection plays an indispensable role in the origin and evolution of human beings. This paper will also summarize the methods to detect positive selection, analyze the interference factors faced and make suggestions for further research on positive selection.

An efficient quantum secret sharing protocol with orthogonal product states in the 33 Hilbert space is presented. The particles in the orthogonal product states form two particle sequences. One sequence is sent to Bob and the other is sent to Charlie after rearranging the particle orders. With the help of Alice, Bob and Charlie make the corresponding local measurement to obtain the information of the or- thogonal product states prepared. This protocol has many distinct features such as great capacity and high efficiency.

A class of latent ancestral graph for modelling the dependence structure of structural vector autoregressive （VAR） model affected by latent variables is proposed. The graphs are mixed graphs with possibly two kind of edges, namely directed and bidirected edges. The vertex set denotes random variables at dif- ferent times. In Gaussian case, the latent ancestral graph leads to a simple parameterization model. A modified iterative conditional fitting algorithm is presented to obtain maximum likelihood esti- mation of the parameters. Furthermore, a log-likelihood criterion is used to select the most appropriate models. Simulations are performed using illustrative examples and results are provided to demonstrate the validity of the methods.
