Polynomial regression calculation of the Earth's position based on millisecond pulsar timing

Prior to achieving high precision navigation of a spacecraft using X-ray observations, a pulsar rotation model must be built and analysis of the precise posi- tion of the Earth should be performed using ground pulsar timing observations. We can simulate time-of-arrival ground observation data close to actual observed values before using pulsar timing observation data. Considering the correlation between the Earth＇s position and its short arc section of an orbit, we use polynomial regression to build the correlation. Regression coefficients can be calculated using the least square method, and a coordinate component series can also be obtained; that is, we can calcu- late Earth＇s position in the Barycentric Celestial Reference System according to pulse arrival time data and a precise pulsar rotation model. In order to set appropriate param- eters before the actual timing observations for Earth positioning, we can calculate the influence of the spatial distribution of pulsars on errors in the positioning result and the influence of error source variation on positioning by simulation. It is significant that the threshold values of the observation and systematic errors can be established before an actual observation occurs; namely, we can determine the observation mode with small errors and reject the observed data with big errors, thus improving the positioning result.

Relationship between surface subsidence factor and mining depth of strip pillar mining

Strip pillar mining is one of the most important technical measures to control mining subsidence in china. Mining depth is one of the most important factors that can affect the mining subsidence in strip pillar mining. Six numerical simulation models were set up to simulate the surface subsidence of strip pillar mining in different mining depths. The mining depth in these six models ranges from 300 to 800 m. The simulated results were compared and analyzed. The formula was established based on the simulated results. It demonstrated that the subsidence of strip pillar mining method is related to mining depth. While the other conditions are the same, the subsidence of strip pillar mining increases with the increase of mining depth by logarithmic relationship.

Effects of isolation after sexual experience on anxiety-like, depressive-like behaviors and affective states in male rats

Studies on social isolation have provided evidence for an enhanced anxiety-like phenotype, depressive-like symptoms and higher levels of 2.-kHz ultrasonic vocalizations (USVs); whereas sexual experience could induce significant changes in affective states, decrease anxiety-and depressive-like responses. However, the behavioral and emotional alterations in male rats exposed to isolation after sexual experience remain poorly understood. Therefore, the present study examined anxiety-and depressive-like parameters, as well as USV emissions in male rats isolated for 1, 2. or 7 d following 1-week sexual (male-female paired housing) or social (male-male paired housing) interaction. Isolation for 1 d resulted in increased depressive-like symptoms, and 2.d isolation induced elevated anxiety-like behavior in sexually inexperienced rats, while rats with sexual experience exhibited comparable levels of emotionality at each isolation time. Moreover, isolated rats without sexual experience emitted less 2.-and 50-kHz USVs, but sexually experienced rats exhibited similar affective states compared with control ones. These results suggested that prior sexual experience could have a modulatory effect on experimental rat emotional responses to isolation.

Periodicity of Retzius lines in fossil Pongo from South china

Periodicity of Retzius lines is a key factor in dental development. In this study, we examined the periodicity of Retzius lines in fossil Pongo from South china using polarized light microscope observation of dental ground sections. The periodicities all of the 15 teeth were 9 d. Comparisons of periodicity were made with extant primates, fossil apes and hominins. Periodicity of fossil Pongo from South china was relatively long but fell within the variation of extant Pongo, Gorilla and modern human, and longer than periodicity of Pan and other extant primates. Fossil Pongo from South china was similar to Lufengpithecus and Sivapithecus, shorter than Gigantopithecus and longer than European and African fossil apes and most early hominins in periodicity. Generally, the periodicities of Asian large-body fossil apes were longer than the periodicities of European and African large-body fossil apes in Miocene. Difference among species and trend of evolution in periodicity were analyzed and discussed. We found that periodicity might gradually increase from Proconsul in early Miocene to several fossil apes in Miocene and then Gigantopithecus in Pleistocene. In addition, this study made correlate analysis between periodicity and body mass respectively in males and females of six extant apes and five fossil apes, and found that periodicity positively correlated with body mass.

Construction of AFLP-based genetic linkage maps for the Chinese shrimp Fenneropaeneus chinensis

Fenneropaeneus chinensis is an important species in marine fishery resources and aquaculture in china. A genetic linkage map is essential for improving the efficiency of its breeding by marker-as- sisted selection and identifying commercially important genes. Linkage maps of F. chinensis were constructed with an F2.mapping population (110 progenies) using amplified fragment length polymor- phic (AFLP) marker in this study. Fifty-five AFLP primer combinations produced 532.AFLP markers fitting for map strategy in mapping family. The markers with 3:1 segregating ratios were analyzed using F2.intercross model for the common linkage map, while the markers with 1:1 ratio were analyzed using the pseudo-testcross strategy. The maps of male, female and common were constructed. The female map included 103 markers that formed 2. linkage groups, covering a total length of 1090 cM. All mark- ers were linked with the linkage groups. Segregation distortion was observed for 6 of 103 markers in the female map. The average distance between markers was 14.53 cM and ranged from 4.4 to 2..8 cM. The male map included 144 markers that formed 35 linkage groups. Ten markers remained unlinked in male map. Segregation distortion was observed for 7 of 144 markers in the male map. The total dis- tance of male map covered 1617 cM. The average distance between markers was 16.36 cM. The male map was 32.6% longer than the female map, which may reflect sex-specific recombination rates in Chinese shrimp. The common map was composed of 2.6 markers, including in 44 linkage groups covering a total distance of 1772.1 cM. Two markers remained unlinked. No distorted markers of 2.6 markers were shown in the common map. The distance between markers was 10.42.cM. An average estimated genome size for the Chinese shrimp was 2.2. cM, which was consistent with the relative size of the Penaeid genome. This work aims to obtain a wide area differential method for geostationary orbit (GEO) constellation. A comparison between the dilution of precision (DOP) of four-dimensional (4D) calculation including sa- tellite clock errors and ephemeris errors and that of three-dimensional (3D) calculation only including ephemeris errors with the inverse positioning theory of GPS shows the conclusion that all the 3D PDOPs are greatly reduced. Based on this, a basic idea of correcting satellite clock errors and ephem- eris errors apart is put forward, and moreover, a specific method of separation is proposed. Satellite clock errors are separated in a master station with time synchronization, and all the remaining pseu- do-range errors after the satellite clock errors have been deducted are used to work out ephemeris corrections of all GEO satellites. By a comparative analysis of user positioning accuracy before and after differential, the wide area differential method is verified to be quite valid for GEO constellation.

The ecosystem in northeastern china and the Russian Far East is a hotspot of scientific research into the global carbon *** aboveground biomass(AGB) is an important component in the land surface carbon *** this study,using forest inventory data and forest distribution data,the AGB was estimated for forest in Daxinganlin in northeastern china by combining charge-coupled device(CCD) data from the Small Satellite for Disaster and Environment Monitoring and Forecast(HJ-1) and Geoscience Laser Altimeter System(GLAS) waveform data from the Ice,Cloud and land Elevation Satellite(ICESat).The forest AGB prediction models were separately developed for different forest types in the research area at GLAS footprint level from GLAS waveform parameters and field survey plot biomass in the Changqing(CQ) Forest Center,which was calculated from forest inventory *** resulted statistical regression models have a R2.0.68 for conifer and R2.0.71 for broadleaf *** models were used to estimate biomass for all GLAS footprints of forest located in the study *** GLAS footprint biomass coupled with various spectral reflectivity parameters and vegetation indices derived from HJ-1 satellite CCD data were used in multiple regression analyses to establish biomass prediction models(R2.0.55 and R2.0.52.for needle and broadleaf respectively).Then the models were used to produce a forest AGB map for the whole study area using the HJ-1 *** data obtained from forest inventory data of the Zhuanglin(ZL) Forest Center were used as independent field measurements to validate the AGB estimated from HJ-1 CCD data(R2.0.71).About 80% of biomass samples had an error less than 2. t ha-1,and the mean error of all validation samples is 5.74 t *** pixel-level biomass map was then stratified into different biomass levels to illustrate the AGB spatial distribution pattern in this *** was found that HJ-1 wide-swath data and GLAS waveform data can be combined to estim

The concepts and calculation methods of ionospheric eclipse factor (IEF) and ionospheric influence factor (IFF) are further illustrated. The temporal and spacial variation properties of IEF and IFF are studied, which shows that the properties are influenced by the geographic position and season. The possibility of improving the precision of using GPS data to determine ionospheric delay based on the above variation properties is also analysed.

Electronic structure and magnetism of Fe-doped SiC nanotubes

The electronic structure and magnetic properties of Fe-doped SiC nanotubes are investigated by using the first-principles method based on density functional theory(DFT) in the local spin density approximation(LSDA).The calculation results indicate that the SiC nanotube of Fe substitution for C exhibits antiferromagnetism while ferromagnetism features prominently when Fe substitutes *** is a kind of half-metal magnetic *** formation energy calculation results show that the formation energy of ferromagnetic structure is 3.2.eV lower than that of antiferromagnetic *** atoms are more likely to replace Si ***-orbit coupling induces electron spin polarization in the ground ***,the doping Fe atoms make relaxation towards the outside of the tube to some extent and larger geometric distortion occurs when Fe substitutes C,but the whole geometric structure of SiC nanotubes is not damaged due to the *** is revealed in the calculation of energy band structure and density of states that more dispersed distribution of energy levels is produced near the Fermi *** Fe substitution for Si,obviously there are spin-split and intense p-d hybrid effects by Si 3p electron spins and Fe 3d electron spins localized at the exchanging interactions between magnetic transitional metal(TM) *** electronic density results indicate that system magnetic moments are mainly generated by the unpaired 3d electrons of Fe *** these results show that the transition metal doping SiC nanotube could be a potential route to fabricating the promising magnetic materials.

Temporal variation of hemispheric solar rotation

The daily sunspot numbers of the whole disk as well as the northern and southern hemispheres from 1945 January 1 to 2.10 December 31 are used to investi- gate the temporal variation of rotational cycle length through the continuous wavelet transformation analysis method. Auto-correlation function analysis of daily hemi- spheric sunspot numbers shows that the southern hemisphere rotates faster than the northern hemisphere. The results obtained from the wavelet transformation analysis are that no direct relationship exists between the variation trend of the rotational cy- cle length and the solar activity in the two hemispheres and that the rotational cycle length of both hemispheres has no significant period appearing at 11 yr, but has a sig- nificant period of about 7.6 yr. Analysis concerning the solar cycle dependence of the rotational cycle length shows that acceleration seems to appear before the minimum time of solar activity in the whole disk and the northern hemisphere, respectively. Furthermore, the cross-correlation study indicates that the rotational cycle length of the two hemispheres has different phases, and that the rotational cycle length of the whole disk as well as the northern and southern hemispheres, also has phase shifts with corresponding solar activity. In addition, the temporal variation of the north-south （N- S） asymmetry of the rotational cycle length is also studied. This displays the same variation trend as the N-S asymmetry of solar activity in a solar cycle, as well as in the considered time interval, and has two significant periods of 7.7 and 17.5 yr. Moreover, the rotational cycle length and the N-S asymmetry of solar activity are highly corre- lated. It is inferred that the northern hemisphere should rotate faster at the beginning of solar cycle 2..
