Vehicle Navigation Systems (VNS) is an important component of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). These Systems are designed to assist drivers in making pre trip and enroute travel choice decisions, and typically, they must provide route choice, route guidance and other related services. Although there have been a lot of existed systems in the market, and most of them used lots of contemporary technologies, they are believed short of ″true intelligence″, because they paid little attention to the subjective issues in driver′s route choice behavior, such as travel objectives and personal preferences, etc. \;However, the VNS is designed for its users, and the successful implementation of VNS is largely dependent on the driver′s acceptance. If the driver feels that the VNS can′t give him (her) a satisfactory choice, he (she) will not use it, then, the marketing value of VNS will decline. And on the whole, the transport benefit that is mainly gained by the wide use of ITS will lost. \;Supported by the research project of ″Beijing Intelligent Urban Transportation Systems″, this paper presents a conceptual model to deal with this problem. We first defined the driver′s objective as a linguistic statement that has a set of attributes. These attributes are then treated as the fuzzy sets on the universal of all the existed routes. By determining each attribute′s membership function and assign driver dependent perception to these attributes, we can change the multi criteria route choice problem into a fuzzy logic based decision making problem. Then, to meet the demands of dynamic real time route selection, we use a limited routes set for choice and can swiftly get a satisfactory solution that we think is the driver′s actually needs.

While it has been well demonstrated that quantum dots (QDs) play an important role inbiological labeling both in vitro and in vivo,there is no report describing the cellular nanostructure basis ofreceptor-mediated ***,nanostructure evolution responses to the endocytosis of transferrin(Tf)-conjugated QDs were characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM).AFM-based nanostructureanalysis demonstrated that the Tf-conjugated QDs were specifically and tightly bound to the cell receptorsand the nanostructure evolution is highly correlated with the cell membrane receptor-mediated ***,confocal microscopic and flow cytometry results have demonstrated the specificity anddynamic property of Tf-QD binding and *** found that the internalization of Tf-QD is linearlyrelated to ***,while the nanoparticles on the cell membrane increased,the endocytosis was stillvery active,suggesting that QD nanoparticles did not interfere sterically with the binding and function ***,ligand-conjugated QDs are potentially useful in biological labeling of cells at a nanometerscale.

Skin graft rejection is a typical cellular immune response,mainly mediated by T *** lymphocyte associated antigen 4-immunoglobin (CTLA4-Ig) extends graft survival by blocking the T cellco-stimulation pathway and inhibiting T cell *** investigate the efficacy of CTLA4-Ig in prolong-ing skin graft survival,human CTLA4-Ig (hCTLA4-Ig) was engineered to overexpress in mouse skin bytransgenesis using the K14 *** transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and West-ern blot assay indicated that the expression of CTLA4-Ig remained skin-specific and relatively constantcompared to the internal control protein,AKT,through seven *** presence and concentrationof the hCTLA4-Ig protein in transgenic mouse sera was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and the results indicated that the serum CTLA4-Ig concentration also remained constant *** of transgenic mouse skins grafted onto rat wounds was remarkably prolonged com-pared to that of wild-type skins from the same mouse strain,and remained comparable among all *** suggested that the bioactive hCTLA4-Ig protein was stably expressed in transgenical micethrough at least seven generations,which was consistent with the stable skin-specific CTLA4-Ig *** results demonstrated that the transgenic expression of hCTLA4-Ig in skin driven by the K14 promoterremained constant through generations,and a transgenic line can be established to provide transgenic skinwith extended survival reproducibly.

Modeling land use/cover scenario changes and its potential impacts on structure and functions of ecosystem in typical regions are helpful to understanding the interactive mechanism between land use/cover system and ecosystem. Based on the analysis of the existing land use/cover simulation and forecast models, a land use/cover scenario dynamics model by the integration of System Dynamics (SD) model, Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) and cellular Automata (CA) model is developed with land use/cover scenario changes in northern china in the next 30 years and simulated in this paper. The model is to simulate the land use/cover scenario demands by using a SD model at first, and then allocating the land use scenario patterns at the local scale with the considerations of land use/cover suitability, inheritance ability and neighborhood effect by using BPNN-CA model to satisfy the balance between land use/cover scenario demands and supplies. It integrates the advantages of SD, BPNN and CA. Macro-driving factors and the micro-spatial pattern are also fully taken into account. The BPNN simplifies the identification of the factors’ weights used in CA model and improves the reliability of the simulation results. The simulation accuracy of the model developed in this paper was found to be about 74%. It suggests that the model has the ability to reflect the complexity of land use/cover system at different scales to some extent and it is a useful tool for assessing the potential impacts of land use system on ecosystem. The simulated results also indicate that the urban land, water area and forest will increase significantly, and farmland and unable land will decrease gradually. Obvious land use/cover changes will take place in the farming-pastoral zone and the southeast area of northern china.

The optimal information feedback has a significant effect on many socioeconomic systems like stock market and traffic systems aiming to make full use of resources. In this paper, we study dynamics of traffic flow with real-time information. The influence of a feedback strategy named vehicle number feedback strategy (VNFS) is introduced, in which we only calculate the vehicle number of first 500 route sites from the entrance. Moreover, the two-route traffic system has only one entrance and one exit, which is different from those in the previous work. Our model incorporates the effects of adaptability into the cellular automaton models of traffic flow, and simulation results by adopting this optimal information feedback strategy have demonstrated higher efficiency in controlling spatial distribution of traffic patterns than the other three information feedback strategies, i.e., TTFS, MVFS and CCFS.

BACKGROUND: Patients with decompensated hepatitis B vires (HBV)-related cirrhosis tend to have low or undetectable HBV replication. However, some patients continue to have high levels of HBV replication and effective suppression of HBV replication with antiviral agents may potentially decrease hepatic necroinflammation and improve or stabilize liver function. This review was to under stand the efficacy and safety of lamivudine in the treatment of decompensated HBV cirrhosis. DATA SOURCES: An English-language literature search (MEDLINE January 1988-July 2005) was performed, and a total of 52 articles/abstracts relevant to the issue were selected. After review of the selected papers, the meaningful results and conclusions were extracted using scientific crite ria. The papers reviewed pertained mainly to the efficacy and safety profiles of lamivudine treatment for decompensated HBV cirrhosis. RESULTS: The ultimate treatment of decompensated HBV cirrhosis is liver transplantation, but lamivudine treatment may lead to rapid suppression of viral replication and improvement of biochemical and clinical parameters, reduced morbidity and hospitalization for complications of liver disease, increased pre-transplant survival as well as reduced need for transplantation. However, viral resistance can develop after prolonged treatment with lamivudine, and breakthrough hepatitis may be fatal in few patients. Adefovir is effective for lamivudine-resistant HBV mutants. CONCLUSIONS: Antiviral therapy with lamivudine for decompensated HBV cirrhosis can be effective. However, some patients may experience a hepatitis flare with the emergence of YMDD mutants resulting in progressive worsening of liver disease, and should be referred for 'rescue' therapy with other nucleoside/nucleotide analogues such as adefovir dipivoxil.
