Previous studies have shown that Arabidopsis equilibrative nucleoside transporters （AtENTs） possess transport activitieswhen produced in yeast cells and are differentially expressed in Arabidopsis ***,we report further analysis onthe nucleoside transport activities and transcriptional patterns of AtENT *** recombinant proteins of AtENTs3,6,and 7,but not those of AtENTs 1,2,4,and 8,were found to transport thymidine with high *** to previ-ous suggestion that AtENT1 may not transport uridine,this work showed that recombinant AtENT1 was a pH-dependentand high-affinity transporter of *** grown on MS plates,the AtENT3 knockout plants were more tolerant tothe cytotoxic uridine analog 5-fluorouridine than wild-type plants and the knockout plants ofAtENT 1 or ***-sistent with this observation,the AtENT3 knockout line exhibited a significantly decreased ability to take up [3H]uridinevia the roots when compared with wild-type plants and the plants with mutated AtENT 1 or *** indicates thatAtENT3,but not AtENTs 1 and 6,is the main transporter for uridine uptake in Arabidopsis *** transcription ofAtENTs 1,3,4,6,7,and 8 was regulated in a complex manner during leaf development and *** contrast,thesix AtENT members were coordinately induced during seed *** work provides new information on thetransport properties of recombinant AtENT proteins and new clues for future studies of the in vivo transport activitiesand physiological functions of the different ENT proteins in Arabidopsis plants.

A particle-based method for granular flow simulation

We present a new particle-based method for granular flow *** the method,a new elastic stress term,which is derived from a modified form of the Hooke's law,is included in the momentum governing equation to handle the friction of granular *** force is also added to simulate the dynamic friction for the purpose of smoothing the velocity field and further maintaining the simulation *** from the Lagrangian nature of the SPH method,large flow deformation can be well handled easily and *** addition,a signed distance field is also employed to enforce the solid boundary *** experimental results show that the proposed method is effective and efficient for handling the flow of granular materials,and different kinds of granular behaviors can be well simulated by adjusting just one parameter.

Our concern, in the paper, is to construct information-theoretic secure network coding in the presence of eavesdroppers. Based on the generalized attack model and all-or-nothing transformation, the security of network coding in the generalized combination network can be characterized by the network capacity and the min-cut bound of wiretapping set from the source. Furthermore, it can be extended to any directed acyclic networks with single source. Compared with the traditional results, we construct information-theoretic secure network coding without additional encryptions and giving up any capacity.

In December of 2010 NIST selected five SHA-3 finalists-BLAKE,Grstl,JH,Keccak,and Skein to advance to the third (and final) round of the SHA-3 *** present most specialists and scholars focus on the design and the attacks on these hash ***,it is very significant to study some properties of their primitives and underlying *** some properties reflect the pseudo-randomness of the ***,they help us to find new cryptanalysis for some block cipher *** this paper,we analyze the resistance of JH and Grstl-512 against structural properties built on integral *** then 31.5 (out of 42) rounds integral distinguishers for JH compression function and 11.5 (out of 14) rounds for Grstl-512 compression function are presented.

This paper addresses a problem of flood forecasting with the self-memory function. Considering flood forecasting’s uncertainty and updating demand, a hybrid hydrological model, namely Differential Hy- drological Grey Model with self-memory function (DHGM-SM), is developed. The model has two fold features. One is to establish a self-memorization equation linked with DHGM, that could extract useful information from past data series and realize updating of hydrological dynamic process. The other is that this model has higher efficiency relative to original hydrological model without self-memory func- tion. This approach was applied to river flow forecasting of two representative basins in Tunxi of South china and Daqinggou of North china. It is shown that this hybrid method has satisfactory forecasting accuracy by examination of both calibration and validation.

An urban traffic environment model

Urban environment pattern depends heavily upon urban traffic pattern, the balance between traffic (implicit production) and environment leads to the urban sustainable development. An integrated urban traffic environment model consists of three components of urban production variables (population density, GDP, salary, etc. in blocks), urban traffic variables and urban environmental variables; and two links between urban traffic planning variables and urban environment variables, and between spatial interaction model (SIM) and traffic planning variables as well. The model is quite useful in urban environment impact assessment; urban traffic management; urban sustainable development planning; and urban development decision\|making.

Polynomial analysis of canopy spectra and biochemical component content inversion

A polynomial expression model was developed in this paper to describe directional canopy spectra, and the decomposition of the polynomial expression was used as a tool for re-trieving biochemical component content from canopy multi-angle spectra. First, the basic formula of the polynomial expression was introduced and the physical meaning of its terms and coeffi-cients was discussed. Based on this analysis, a complete polynomial expression model and its decomposition method were given. By decomposing the canopy spectra simulated with SAILH model, it shows that the polynomial expression can not only fit well the canopy spectra, but also show the contribution of every order scattering to the whole reflectance. Taking the first scattering coefficients a10 and a01 for example, the test results show that the polynomial coefficients reflect very well the hot spot phenomenon and the effects of viewing angles, LAI and leaf inclination angle on canopy spectra. By coupling the polynomial expression with leaf model PROSPECT, a canopy biochemical component content inversion model was given. In the simulated test, the canopy multi-angle spectra were simulated by two different models, SAILH and 4-SCALE re-spectively, then the biochemical component content was retrieved by inverting the coupled polynomial expression + PROSPECT model. Results of the simulated test are promising, and when applying the algorithm to measured corn canopy multi-angle spectra, we also get relatively accurate chlorophyll content. It shows that the polynomial analysis provides a new method to get biochemical component content independent of any specific canopy model.

Nutrient and Litter Patterns in Three Subalpine Coniferous Forests of Western Sichuan, china

Investigations were conducted to quantify litterfall, and litter and nutrient accumulation in forest floor, and to acquire information on litter decomposition and nitrogen and phosphorus release patterns in three different subalpine coniferous forests, a plantation （P1）, a secondary forest （SF）, and a primitive forest （PF）, in western Sichuan, china. The litter trap method was used to evaluate litterfall with the litterbag method being utilized for litter decomposition. Seasonal patterns of litterfall were similar in the three forests, with two peaks occurring in September-November and March-May. The plantation revealed an annual litterfall of 4.38 x 103 kg ha-1, which was similar to those of SF and PF, but P1 had a lower mass loss rate and a higher C/N ratio. The C/N ratio may be a sound predictor for the decomposition differences. N concentrations of leaf litter in both the secondary forest and primitive forest increased first and then decreased, and the percentages of their final/initial values were 108.9% and 99.9%, respectively. P concentration in the three forests increased by the end of the study. The results of litterfall and decomposition indicated that in the plantation the potential to provide nutrients for soil organic matter was similar to those of SF and PF; however, its slower decomposition rate could result in a somewhat transient accumulation of litter in the forest floor.

The Global Invasive Species Database, GISD, comprises 27 species of the most significant invasive alien insects in the world (through November, 2005), 6 of which are originally native to china, 11 are established in china, and 10 have a potential invasion threat to china. This paper discusses these species in terms of distribution, harmfulness and dispersal ways, and finds that: (i) information re-garding invasive insects in the GISD remains inadequate. Such harmful invasive species as Opogona sacchari (Bojer), Oracella acuta (Lobdell), and Dendroctonus valens LeConte are not included. (ii) Ten species of invasive insects, particularly Lasius neglectus Van Loon and Linepithema humile (Mayr) which become established in areas near china, have the potential to become established in china. (iii) Special attention should be paid to species from Asia and the Americas because of their greater likeli-hood of becoming established in china. Finally, some management strategies including legislation, quarantine, early warning, prevention and control are suggested.

Algebraic attack was applied to attack Filter-Combintr model keystreamgenerators. We proposed the technique of function composition to improve the model, and the improvedmodel can resist the algebraic attack. A new criterion for designing Filter-Combiner model was alsoproposed: the total length I. of Linear Finite state Machines used in the model should be largeenough and the degree d of Filter-Combiner function should be approximate [L/2].
