Let G be a group and πe(G) the set of element orders of *** k∈πe(G) and m k be the number of elements of order k in ***τe(G)={mk|k∈πe(G)}.In this paper,we prove that L2(16) is recognizable byτe (L2(16)).In other words,we prove that if G is a group such that τe(G)=τe(L2(16))={1,255,272,544,1088,1920},then G is isomorphic to L2(16).

Let Km,n be a completebipartite graph with two partite sets having m and n vertices,respectively. A Kp,q-factorization of Km,n is a set ofedge-disjoint Kp,q-factors of Km,n which partition theset of edges of Km,n. When p=1 and q is a prime number,Wang, in his paper 'On K1,k-factorizations of a completebipartite graph' (Discrete Math, 1994, 126: 359-364),investigated the K1,q-factorization of Km,n and gave asufficient condition for such a factorization to exist. In the paper'K1,k-factorizations of complete bipartite graphs' (DiscreteMath, 2002, 259: 301-306), Du and Wang extended Wang's resultto the case that q is any positive integer. In this paper, we give a sufficient condition for Km,n to have aKp,q-factorization. As a special case, it is shown that theMartin's BAC conjecture is true when p:q=k:(k+1) for any positiveinteger k.

BACKGROUND: There are many methods for myelin staining, mordant, or oil-soluble dye or the special reaction of osmic acid with lipoid is used according to different principles. The commonly used methods are classic Well staining, classic lithium carbonate-haematine staining, fast green staining, silver staining, etc. Luxol Fast Blue can brightly stain myelin sheath, and has certain specificity. The background can be very clean if there is proper differentiation, whereas Luxol Fast Blue is cheap and convenient to operate, thus it is an ideal staining reagent for routine myelin sheath. OBJECTIVE: To show the corticospinal tract of normal adult rats with Luxol Fast Blue staining method. DESIGN: A repetitive measurement design. SETTINGS: Institute of Nuerobiology, nantong university; Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Affiliated Hospital of nantong university. MATERIALS: Six healthy adult male SD rats of clean degree, weighing averagely 300 g, were provided by the experimental animal center of nantong university. 1 g/L Luxol Fast Blue solution was provided by Sigma Company; Leica CM1900 cryostat microtome by Leica Company; Leica DMR microscope by Leica Company. METHODS: The experiment was carried out in the Staff Room of Human Anatomy, nantong university in May 2005. The rats were given intraperitoneal injection of combined anesthetic (2 mL/kg), then the chest was open for perfusing saline and phosphate buffer containing formamint via heart. Brain and spinal cord were removed after 1 hour then fixed, then changed to phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) containing 300 g/L saccharu at 4 ℃, and stayed overnight, tissue blocks at pyramid, decussation of pyramid and cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral segments of spinal cord were removed to prepare continuous horizontal frozen sections (30 μm) after sedimentation, the sections were dried at room temperature. The corticospinal tract of normal adult rats were shown with Luxol Fast Blue staining method, and observed under Leica DMR

Previous studies have shown that tumor cells predominantly express Th2 type cytokines and transcription factors. GATA-3, as a Th2-specific transcription factor, plays a central role in positive-regulating Th2 development. So whether the expression of GATA-3 in tumor cells has any effect on tumor development is a question of interest. In the present study, we inhibited the expression of GATA-3 in tumor cells through antisense RNA blockade technique, and observed its effects on tumor in vitro and in vivo. Our results showed that antisense GATA-3 treatment could inhibit the expression of TNF-α and Th2 cytokines in tumor cells, and antisense-induced blockade of GATA-3 could also depress tumor growth in tumor-bearing mice. We suggest that the ratio of T-bet/GATA-3 can be evaluated as a more important marker of the status of Thl/Th2 type. And our results might provide some evidence about the molecular regulatory mechanisms in tumor cell development. Cellular ＆ Molecular Immunology. 2005 ;2（3 ）： 189-196.

Neuroprotective effects of dehydroepiandrosterone（DHEA）have been shown to be associatedwith its antioxidant properties,but the mechanisms remain *** that the thioredoxin（Trx）system,an important cellular redox modulation system,changes under oxidative stress and could exertprotective effects,the relationship between the antioxidant effects of DHEA and the Trx system regulationwas *** MTT assay and morphological observation,the effects of DHEA in the model of H2O2-induced oxidative stress in SH-SY5Y cells were analyzed,then RT-PCR and Western blot assay were used todetect the alteration in mRNA and protein level of Trx,The results showed that a pre-treatment of DHEA（10-100nM）protected cells against the toxicity induced by H2O2in a dose-dependent manner,which could beconfirmed in morphological observation by phase-contract *** addition,Trx mRNA transcriptionwas inhibited by H2O2（300μM）,which could be reversed by the pre-administration of DHEA in variousconcentrations（0.1-100nM）.Western blot assay confirmed that protein level of Trx could be elevated by thepre-treatment of DHEA（10-100nM）with the exposure of *** together,these data suggest thatDHEA may be useful in treating age-related neurodegenerative diseases based on its up-regulating effects onan antioxidant and neuroprotective protein thioredoxin,a substrate in the Trx redox system.

Biodegradable and amphiphilic triblock copolymers poly(ethyl ethylene phosphate)-poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-poly(ethyl ethylene phosphate) (PEEP-b-PHB-b-PEEP) have been successfully synthesized through ring-opening polymerization. The structures are confirmed by gel permeation chromatography and NMR analyses. Crystallization investigated by X-ray diffraction reveals that the block copolymer with higher content of poly(ethyl ethylene phosphate) (PEEP) is more amorphous, showing decreased crystallizability. The obtained copolymers self-assemble into biodegradable nanoparticles with a coreshell micellar structure in aqueous solution, verified by the probe-based fluorescence measurements and transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) observation. The hydrophobic poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) block serves as the core of the micelles and the micelles are stabilized by the hydrophilic PEEP block. The size and size distribution are related to the compositions of the copolymers. Paclitaxel (PTX) has been encapsulated into the micelles as a model drug and a sustained drug release from the micelles is observed. MTT assay also demonstrates that the block copolymers are biocompatible, rendering these copolymers attractive for drug delivery.

We propose a semiparametric Wald statistic to test the validity of logistic regression models based on case-control data. The test statistic is constructed using a semiparametric ROC curve estimator and a nonparametric ROC curve estimator. The statistic has an asymptotic chi-squared distribution and is an alternative to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov-type statistic proposed by Qin and Zhang in 1997, the chi-squared-type statistic proposed by Zhang in 1999 and the information matrix test statistic proposed by Zhang in 2001. The statistic is easy to compute in the sense that it requires none of the following methods: using a bootstrap method to find its critical values, partitioning the sample data or inverting a high-dimensional matrix. We present some results on simulation and on analysis of two real examples. Moreover, we discuss how to extend our statistic to a family of statistics and how to construct its Kolmogorov-Smirnov counterpart.

Although normally termed ＂plant secondary metabolism＂, the phrase ＂plant specialized metabolism＂ has become accepted in recent years, since the boundary between plant primary and secondary metabolism for plant natural products is indistinct （Gang 2005）. The early studies of plant natural products can be traced back thousands of years ago to the utilization of herbs for pharmaceutical and cosmetic purposes.
