Carbofuran (2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-7-benzofuranyl methylcarbamate) is a widely used systemic and contact N-methylcarbamate pesticide applied to control insect and nematode pests on a variety of agricultural ***,the residues of carbofurnan may pose a potential hazard for the health of ***,to watch to the safety of our food supply and set up monitoring programs of pesticide residues on agricultural crops is very important.A hapten 6-[(2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimetyl-7-benzofuranyloxy) carbonyl] amino] hexanoic acid [BFNH] completely preserving the carbamate group of carbofuran was synthesized with 2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimrthyl-7-benzofuranol and aminocaproic acid,which was activated with 4-nitrophenyl *** then the BFNH hapten was covalently attached to bovine serum album by utilizing the modified active ester method to synthesize antigen *** coating antigens BFNH-OVA for carbofuran were also synthesized by conjugating BFNH to ovalbumin with the mixed-anhydride *** coupling ratios of BFNH-BSA and BFNH-OVA were 18:1 and 5:1,respectively.

Metal-amyloid-β peptide interactions: a preliminary investigation of molecular mechanisms for Alzheimer’s disease

Serratia distribute in the nature widely and are opportunistic pathogen conditionally that can cause the septicaemia and urethra infection.A spore-producing bacterial strain HS-1E was isolated from the garbage disposal site in wuhan *** main physiological and biochemical features about *** were characterized that it was Gram-negative,encapsulated bacilli,motile,feeble nitrogen *** of HS-IE were smooth, round,and produced a bright-red pigment on LB *** grew,slowly on no-nitrogen culture *** sequence of the 16S rDNA of strain HS-IE was determined and a phylogenetic tree was constructed using Clustal W program based on BLAST sequence *** results showed that the physiological and biochemical features of HS-IE were in accord with Serratia,and that the 16S rDNA sequence was 99.0% similarity with ***,the strain of HS-IE was likely a new species of Serratia.

Although humans have spent exactly 100 years combating Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the molecular mechanisms of AD remain unclear. Owing to the rapid growth of the oldest age groups of the popula-tion and the continuous increase of the incidence of AD, it has become one of the crucial problems to modern sciences. It would be impossible to prevent or reverse AD at the root without elucidating its molecular mechanisms. From the point of view of metal-amyloid-β peptide (Aβ) interactions, we review the molecular mechanisms of AD, mainly including Cu2+ and Zn2+ inducing the aggregation of Aβ, cata-lysing the production of active oxygen species from Aβ, as well as interacting with the ion-channel-like structures of Aβ. Moreover, the development of therapeutic drugs on the basis of metal-Aβ interactions is also briefly introduced. With the increasingly rapid progress of the molecular mechanisms of AD, we are now entering a new dawn that promises the delivery of revolutionary developments for the control of dementias.

Effects of La3+ and Eu3+ on outward potassium channels(K+out) in Vicia guard cells have been studied by patch clamping *** La3+ inhibited K+out currents with a half-inhibition concentration(IC50) of 81 μmol·***,intracellular La3+ activated K+out currents at a free concentration of 1.13 × 10-14 mol·L-1,and inhibited K+out currents at a free concentration of 5.86 × 10-14 mol·*** Eu3+ also activated K+out currents at concentrations of 10 μmol·L-1 and 50 μmol·L-1,and inhibited K+out currents at concentrations of more than 1 mmol·*** effects of La3+ and Eu3+ on K+out currents may contribute to regulation of the plant water status,which may be one of the mechanisms of the biological effect of rare earth elements.

QSAR studies of 27 diacyl-hydrazine derivatives containing furan rings were conducted and compared with the DFT method and AM1-MOPAC method.q2 values of 0.61 and 0.40 validated the predictability and reliability of eq.(5) from the DFT method were higher than those of eq.(6) from the AM1-MOPAC *** DFT-optimized conformations and ESP-fitting charges of the target compounds were also used for 3D-QSAR analysis,including CoMFA and *** leave-one-out cross-validation correlation coefficient and the good correlation between the predicted and experimental activities of excluded test compounds revealed that CoMFA and CoMSIA models were *** QSAR results were consistent with the 3D-QSAR results,indicating that the electrostatic and hydrophobic properties of the target compounds were significant to the biological *** models are useful tools for predicting the larvicidal activities of new compounds and designing new specific insect growth regulators.

Four dinuclear amino acid cadmium（II） complexes [Cd2（tren）2（dl-alaninato）]（ClO4）3·H2O（I）, [Cd2（tren）2· （l-alaninato）]（ClO4）3·H2O（II）, [Cd2（tren）2（dl-phenylalaninato）]（ClO4）3（III） and [Cd2（tren）2（l-phenylalaninato）]· （ClO4）3（IV）, constructed from mixed ligands of tris（2-aminoethyl）amine（tren） and racemic or natural amino ac ids（amino acids=dl or l-alanine, and dl or l-phenylalanine）, have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crys tallography. The structural analysis of complexes I and III reveals that the cadmium centers are coordinated by one tren ligand and one amino acid molecule with the unusual （N,O,O′）-bridged mode, resulting in asymmetric chromo phores of CdN4O and CdN5O in complex I, CdN4O2 and CdN5O in complex III, respectively. The utility of the four complexes as efficient water-compatible Lewis acid catalysts for the direct aldol reaction in water was examined. The reaction proceeded smoothly to afford the corresponding β-hydroxy ketones in up to 99% yield. Moreover, the dias tereoselectivity of the reaction favors the formation of the syn-isomers.

Using the whole cell patch-clamp technique,we studied the effects of La3+ on calcium-activated K+ currents and its kinetics of activation and inactivation in non-excitable MC3T3 *** results showed that the calcium-activated outward K+ currents were promoted with increasing concentration of Ca2+ in the pipette solution and a voltage- and Ca2+-dependent ***3+ in the bath solution inhibited the currents in a concentration-dependent manner and the inhibition EC50 was 8.23 ± 1.45 μmol/*** the concentration of 50 μmol/L,La3+ significantly changed the Vh of the activation curve and shifted the activation curve to more positive potentials,but shifted the inactivation curve to more negative *** had no effect on the slope factor k of the activation and inactivation *** currents inhibition could induce a series of physiological and molecular biological functions,presumably because of its ability to depolarize the plasma membrane and enhance cell excitability,resulting in increasing Ca2+ influx and cytoplast Ca2+ *** process may be one of the molecular mechanisms by which La3+ affects the cell growth and function of MC3T3 cells.
