A new orthogonality relationship for orthotropic thin plate theory and its variational principle

The thought how dual vectors are constructed in a new orthogonality relationship for theory of elasticity is generalized into orthotropic thin plate bending problems by using the analogy theory between plane elasticity problems and plate bending problems. Dual differential equations are directly obtained by using a mixed variables method. A dual differential matrix to be derived possesses a peculiarity of which principal diagonal sub-matrixes are zero matrixes. Two independently and symmetrically orthogonality sub-relationships are discovered. By using the integral form for elastic bending theory of orthotropic thin plate the orthogonality relationship is demonstrated. By selecting felicitous dual vectors a new orthogonality relationship for theory of elasticity can be generalized into elastic bending theory of orthotropic thin plate. By using the integral form a variational principle which is relative to differential form and a whole function expression are proposed.

In this paper, a partially linear single-index model is investigated, and three empirical log-likelihood ratio statistics for the unknown parameters in the model are suggested. It is proved that the proposed statistics are asymptotically standard chi-square under some suitable conditions, and hence can be used to construct the confidence regions of the parameters. Our methods can also deal with the confidence region construction for the index in the pure single-index model. A simulation study indicates that, in terms of coverage probabilities and average areas of the confidence regions, the proposed methods perform better than the least-squares method.

The interactions between metal ions and DNA have been studied by the resonance light scattering (RLS) spectra. In the acidic condition, the RLS signals of metal ions, especially the transition metal ions in group IB and IIB, were increased by DNA. And it is found that the enhancement of RLS signals is linear to the concentration of DNA, so the RLS method for DNA determination was proposed in the presence of Cu2.. On the optimum conditions, the linear range and the detect limit of ctDNA is 4×10?8–4×10?6 g· mL?1 and 1. 13×10?8 g·mL?1, respectively. The proposed method is successfully applied to determine the extracted plasmid DNA ofBacillus subtilis DB104. Based on the propagation theory of partially coherent light in the space-frequency domain, the anomalous spectral behavior and spectral switches in the far field of partially coherent and polychromatic light diffracted at an aperture are studied. It is shown that, as compared with spatially fully coherent and polychromatic light whose spectral anomalies are induced only by aperture diffraction, the spectral anomalies and spectral switches of partially coherent and polychromatic light depend on the aperture diffraction, spatial correlationβ and bandwidth of the original spectrum. Detailed numerical calculations are made to illustrate the behavior of spectral switches of partially coherent and polychromatic light, and the results for spatially fully coherent and polychromatic light are treated as a special case ofβ=1 and included in our theory.

By the intracellular calcium ionic minimal model proposed by Berridge, we investigated the collective response of two-dimensional (N×N) coupled cell systems to the external stimulation using numerical simulation methods. With a coupled intensity fixed and an appropriate coupled cell number chosen, the kinetic system size resonance was discovered. At the same time, it was found that the system size responding to the external stimulation for different coupled intensities transferred too, especially when the coupled intensity increased, the range of the corresponding system size extended. These phe- nomena illustrate that the coupled cell number and the coupled intensity can play con- structive roles in noisy coupled systems, by which the biology system would probably improve its capability to respond to the external stimulation.

Bis （4-（4-amino-3, 5-diethylbenzyl）-2. 6-diethylphenylimino） acenaphthene] di- chloronickel （NiLCl2. was prepared and supported on SiO2.modified by methyl trichlorsilane（S-1） and on SiO2.MgCl2.TiCl4 （S-2. respectively. Two supported catalysts S-1 and S-2.used as catalysts for ethylene polymerization were studied and the influences of various polymerization conditions, including the polymerization temperature, cocatalysts, Al/Ni molar ratio on the catalytic activity, branching degree and branch length of PE were also investigated. The experimental results show that the supported catalysts exhibit higher catalytic activity for ethylene polymerization, the highest catalytic activity of S-1 using AlEt2.l as cocatalyst at 50 ℃, reaching 5.8×10^5gPE/molNi·h, and needed lower Al/Ni molar ratio compared to homogeneous analogue.

A formulated as △fH m ? (PPDs,g)=a+ΣbiPi + cifi is put forward for estimating standard formation enthalpies of pyridine-derivatives (PDDs), in which,P i is path index andc i f i is an amended term of interaction between substituent and N atom on pyridine ring. The Calculations based on the model were carried out for some pyridine-derivatives. The values of standard formation enthalpy calculated are consistent with those in literature.

The reaction between iodate and thiourea has been studied in an unbuffered acidic medium. In excess iodate the reaction shows not only oligooscillations in pH, Pt potential and the concentration of iodide ion, [I?], but also an initial induction period which has the linear relation with initial pH. At the end of the induction period, [I?] decreases sharply and a yellow coloration (due to iodine) appears transiently. While in excess thiourea iodine is produced and finally con- sumed, leaving milky deposits (due to sulfur) at the end of the reaction. The induction period from the start of the reaction to the maximum of [I2. is also directly proportional to initial pH. A 14-step mechanism, including a H+-mediated preequalibrium, Dusman reaction, iodine-sulfur reactions and sulfur-sulfur reactions, is proposed. Computer simulations using this mechanism give good agreement with experiments.
