This work addressed the antibacterial mechanism of copper ions dissolved from the Cu-bearing antibacterial stainless steel in the bacterial solution by electrochemical measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）.Experimental results showed that the antibacterial rate reached over 99.9% only when the reaction time between the antibacterial stainless steel and Escherichia coli （***） lasted for 9 h,and the antibacterial stainless steel was more susceptible to the corrosion in the bacterial solution,which was attributed to more copper ions dissolved from surface of the steel contacted with the bacteria,a crucial reason leading to death of the bacteria.

Mechanically alloyed NiAl-TiB_2.Y_2._3.composite (volume percentage of dispersoids about 15v%) was prepared by hot pressing. The compressive properties of the composite from 3.0 K to 13.0 K were tested and the microstructures were studied mainly by TEM. The yield strengths of the composite at room temperature and high temperatures are considerably higher than that of monolithic NiAl and also is higher than similar NiAl-based composites which contained higher content of dispersoids but showed coarser microstructure. The possible strengthening mechanisms working in the composite are discussed.

Apeculiar crystal defect was observed by experiment of high resolution electron microscopy( HREM) .It wasidentifiedtoformed bytwothreading dislocationsand asegmentof(11 2.) domain boundary. An atomicstructure model was proposed for the anomalous defect. Theresultofthe weak beam experimentofelectron microscopeaffirmedthesuggested *** GaN(11 2.0) domain boundaries werestudied by Molec ular Dynamicscalculations. Thetheoreticalresultsshowedthatthelike atom bonding domain boundary, whichcomposesthe main partofthe peculiar defect, has much higher formationenergy than itcounterpartof unlike atom bonding domain boundary. Theoutcome providesanotherevidenceforthesuggested model.

In this work, blister of the Cu-Sn plus Cr coating on solid cantilevers of hydraulic supports for coal mining was investigated by hydrogen-charging, Devanathan-Stachurski method and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement. It was found that the permeation hydrogen during the pickling process and the electroplating process was responsible for the blisters. The residual tensile stress due to the machining process would increase the permeation hydrogen amount during pickling and electroplating processes.

Secondary M2.C6 precipitation around primary MC carbide in a directionally solidified cobalt-base saperalloy was investigated duriny aging at 850℃. The results show that it was closely related to the decomposition of the MC. Two mechanisms were suggested,i.e. the in situ reaction, MC+γ→M2.C6+C, and the direct reaction, M+C→M2.C6,in which MC acted as a carbon source.

NanocrystaUine Ni powders were successfully fabricated by mechanically milling at cryogenic temperature （cryomilling） with 1 wt.%Y2.3.particles. The experimental results have shown that the Ni grain size is reduced to 2. nm after 2.h of cryomilling in the presence of the Y2.3.particles. The cryomiUed Ni/Y2.3.powders can maintain their nanocrystalline structure up to 900℃, or 62. of the melting point of Ni. A bulk nanocrystalline Ni/Y2.3.material with a thermally stable grain size of approximately 100 nm was produced by cryomilling, cold isostatic pressing, followed by hot isostatic pressing. The microhardness of bulk nanocrystalline Ni/1wt.%Y2.3.is 3.5 DPH, which is two times as high as that of conventional Ni.

A multiphase NiAI-2.Cr-5.85Mo-0.15Hf alloy, which was directionally solidified (DS) in an AI2.3.SiO2.mold by stan-dard Bridgman method and then underwent prolonged solution and aging treatment was prepared. The microstruc-ture, tensile properties as well as tensile creep of the heat-treated alloy at different temperatures were studied. Thealloy was composed of NiAl, Cr(Mo) and Hf-rich phase and small amount of fine Heusler phase (Ni2.IHf). Althoughthe present alloy exhibited high tensile strength at low temperature, it was weaker than that of system with highcontent Hf but still stronger than that of many NiAI-based alloys at high temperatures. The fracture toughness islower than that of DS NiAI-2.Cr-6Mo alloy. Nevertheless, advantageous effects on the mechanical properties, *** decrease in brittle-to-ductile transition temperature (BDTT) were obtained for the low content of Hf. The ob-tained creep curves exhibit conventional shape: a short primary creep and long accelerated creep stages. The ruptureproperties of the heat-treated alloy follow the Monkman-Grant relationship, which exhibits similar creep behavior tothat of NiAI/Cr(Mo) system with high Hf content.

The structure and magnetostriction of R_0.5Pr_0.5Fex (R = Dy_0.7Tb_0.3.1.10 ≤x≤1.85) alloys were investigated. It was found that the matrix of arc-melting R_0.5Pr_0.5Fe_x alloys is the (Dy, Tb, Pr) Fe_2.phase with the MgCu_2.type cubic structure and the second phase is rare earth-rich phase when x2.. In the range of 1.40≤x3.and it becomes the main phase when x >1.55. The crystalline structure of mechanically grinding R_0.5Pr_0.5Fe_x alloys is similar to that of the arc-melted alloys. The magnetostriction of the alloys increases with increasing Fe content when x ≤1.2. and decreases when x >1.2..

In this work, numerical simulations for the flow characteristics in a tank of KR mechanical stirring or/and gas injection are performed using the Fluent software. The Eulerian multi-fluid model is employed along with the standard k-ε turbulence model to simulate the gas-liquid flow in the stirring tank. A multiple reference frame approach is used to model the impeller rotation. Combined the KR mechanical stirring method and gas injection method, a new gas injection plus mechanical stirring method is proposed. The present results show that the gas phase distributes widely in the eccentric gas injection plus mechanical stirring tank. Therefore, the gas holdup would be increased and the better gas-liquid mixing effect can be obtained in the gas injection plus mechanical stirring case.
