CD134, a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, plays a crucial role in T cell survival. In this study, peripheral blood mononuclear cells （PBMCs） stimulated with phytohemagglutinin （PHA, 50 μg/ml） were treated by CD134 mAb （1μg/ml, 5 μg/ml, 10 μg/ml） for 6 h, 12 h, 24 h and 48 h. The level of perforin mRNA was measured by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR） technique. Our data showed that the expression of perforin mRNA in PBMCs was down-regulated by CD134 mAb in a dose-dependent manner in range of 1 μg/ml to 5 μg/ml and dropped down to its minimum on 24 h （p 〈 0.05）. The level of perforin mRNA reached a plateau when the concentration of CD134 mAb exceeded 5 μg/ml. In conclusion, CD134 mAb can inhibit perforin expression, which may enhance the ability of T cells for survival. Cellular ＆ Molecular Immunology. 2005;2（6）： 467-471.

Monitoring data from ozone（O3） automatic stations in three typical cities with different climatic areas in the southern and northern parts of eastern china are used to analyze temporal and spatial characteristics of ozone pollution at ground level. The results show that ozone pollution level has distinct regional differences and the concentration in the suburbs is higher than that in the urban areas. The seasonal variation of ozone concentration in different climatic areas is greatly affected by the variation of precipitation. Ozone concentration in Shenyang and Beijing , in the temperate zone, has one perennial peak concentration, occurring in early summer, May or June. Ozone concentration in Guangzhou, in sub-tropical zone, has two peak values year round. The highest values occur in October and the secondary high value in June. The ozone season in the south is longer than that in the north. The annual average daily peak value of ozone concentrations in different climates usually occur around 3 pm. The diurnal variation range of ozone concentration declines with the increase of latitude. Ozone concentration does not elevate with the increase of traffic flow. Ozone concentration in Guangzhou has a distinct reverse relation to CO and NOx. This complicated non-linearity indicates that the equilibrium of ozone photochemical reaction has regional differences. Exceeding the rate of Beijing＇s lh ozone concentration is higher than that of Guangzhou, whereas the average 8h ozone level is lower than that of Guangzhou, indicating that areas in low latitude are more easily affected by moderate ozone concentrations and longer exposure. Thus, china should work out standards for 8h ozone concentration.

This paper investigates the stability of a class of nonlinear time-delay systems via Hamiltonian functional method,and proposes a number of new results on generalized Hamiltonian realization (GHR) and stability analysis for this class of ***,the concept of GHR of general nonlinear time-delay systems is proposed,and several new GHR methods are ***,based on the new GHR methods obtained,the stability of time-delay systems is investigated,and several delay-dependent sufficient conditions in term of matrix inequalities are derived for the stability analysis by constructing suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii (L-K) ***,an illustrative example shows that the results obtained in this paper have less conservatism,and work very well in the stability analysis of some nonlinear time-delay Hamiltonian systems.

The dynamical properties of Rydberg hydrogen atom near a metal surface are presented by using the methods of phase space analysis and closed orbit theory. Transforming the coordinates of the Hamiltonian, we find that the phase space of the system is divided into vibrational and rotational region. Both the Poincaré surface of section and the closed orbit theory verify the same conclusion clearly. In this paper we choose the atomic principal quantum number as n = 20. The dynamical character of the exited hydrogen atom depends sensitively on the atom-surface distance d. When d is sufficiently large, the atom-surface potential can be expressed by the traditional van der Waals force and the system is integrable. When d becomes smaller, there exists a critical value dc. For d > dc, the system is near-integrable and the motion is regular. While chaotic motion appears for d < dc, and the system tends to be non-integrable. The trajectories become unstable and the electron might be captured onto the metal surface.

Rupture of atherosclerotic plaque is the main trigger of acute cardiovascular events, but the mechanism of plaque rupture is still unknown. We have constructed a model describing the motion of the fibrous cap of the plaque using the theory of elastic mechanics and studied the stability of the plaque theoretically. It has shown that plaque rupture is the result of a dynamic interplay between factors intrinsic to the plaque itself and extrinsic factors. We have proposed a new mechanism of plaque rupture, given a new explanation about the nonlinear dynamic progress of atherosclerosis and suggested a method to identify the vulnerable plaques to manage atherosclerosis.

A large number of applications in image processing and computer vision depend on image quality. In this paper, combining the forward diffusion with the backward diffusion by different weights, we present an adaptive bidirectional diffusion method for image denoising and deblurring simultaneously. Further, we introduce a gradient factor into the data fidelity term, which forms a spatially varying constraint and allows a better restoration of image edges and fine details. In order to obtain a stable solution, we develop a numerically stable scheme and give its theoretical analysis. Finally, we show advantages of this method in deblurring edges, denoising and restoring fine details of image compared with other related methods in experiments.

shandong Peninsula,as a more developed region in shandong Province even the east coast of china,is facing challenges from resources and environment *** paper tried to track and assess the coordination status and the dynamic between resource-environment and economy-society systems in shandong Peninsula during 2001-2008 in order to provide decision support for regional *** appraisal index system was built including five aspects of harmony degree(A),sustainability degree(B),opening degree(C),stability degree(D) and controllability degree(E).The results showed that:1) The coordination level of resource-environment and economy-society in shandong Peninsula has continuously grown,and it has undergone three stages:no coordinated degree(2001-2002),weak coordinated degree(2003-2006) and basically coordinated degree(2007-2008).2) Five indexes of criterion hierarchy also increased overall,but each index showed different *** degree,sustainability degree and opening degree rose all the time,while stability degree and controllability degree alternately rose and *** improvement of controllability degree was the slowest.3) The aggravating trend of environmental pollution was slowing *** economic growth was driven by industrial growth and urbanization typically and investment was still the main force to pull the regional economic *** the same time,technology and education were becoming more and more important for economic *** level of foreign capital utility declined and the geographical advantage of shandong Peninsula was *** some characteristics of knowledge economy were *** resources become the main constraint factor of fast development in shandong *** is necessary to further strengthen the coordination ability of government on regional sustainable development.

Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC),the first enzyme of polyamine biosynthesis,was found toincrease in cancer cells,especially lung cancer *** chemotherapeutic agents aimed at decreasingODC gene expression showed inhibitory effects on cancer cells,ha this study,we examined the effects ofadenoviral transduced antisense ODC on lung cancer *** adenovirus carrying antisense ODC(rAd-ODC/Ex3as) was used to infect lung cancer cell line *** 3-(4,5-methylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide assay was used to analyze the effect on cell *** of ODC and concentrationof polyamines in cells were determined by Western blot analysis and high performance liquid *** deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotin-dUTP nick-end labeling was used to analyze *** expression of ODC in A-549 cells was reduced to 54%,and that of three polyamines wasalso decreased through the rAd-ODC/Ex3as ***,cell growth was substantially inhibitedand terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotin-dUTP nick-end labeling showed that rAd-ODC/Ex3ascould lead to cell apoptosis,with apoptosis index of 46%.This study suggests that rAd-ODC/Ex3as has anantitumor effect on the human lung cancer cells.

The aim of this study was to establish and apply a real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR） for rubella virus （RV） ***,the primer and TaqMan probeconcentrations,as well as reaction temperatures were optimized to establish an efficient real-time quantitativeRT-PCR assay for RV ***,an RV-specific PCR amplicon was made as an external standard toestimate the linearity,amplification efficiency,analytical sensitivity and reproducibility of the real timequantitative ***,the assay was applied to quantify RV RNA in clinical samples for rubella *** RV-specific PCR amplicon was prepared for evaluation of the assay at 503 bp,and its original concentrationwas 2.75×10～9 copies/μ*** real time quantitative assay was shown to have good linearity （R2=0.9920）,highamplification efficiency （E=1.91）,high sensitivity （275 copies/ml）,and high reproducibility （variation coefficientrange,from 1.25% to 3.58%）.Compared with the gold standard,the specificity and sensitivity of the assayin clinical samples was 96.4% and 86.4%,***,the established quantitative RT-PCRmethod is a simple,rapid,less-labored,quantitative,highly specific and sensitive assay for RV RNA.
