A two-dimensional Total Routhian Surface (TRS) calculation with the fixed hexa- decapole deformation ε4.= 0.03.was carried out for several configurations of 174.f. Results indicate that the shell corrections have an important contribution to the formation of triaxial superdeformation in 174.f and some possible configuration assignments are made to the 4.TSD bands experimentally found in 174.f.

The Tianshan Mountains is a high and huge mountain body lying across the central part of Xinjiang, China, and is also the main area where the runoff forms in Xinjiang. In this paper, a set of RS-based study methods is put forward for deriving the information about the natural change of the ecology in arid areas, and the relationship between the climate change trend and the corresponding ecological response on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains since recent 4. years is analyzed from the scales of the land cover ecosystems and landscapes based on the observed data of climate, hydrology, modern glaciers and lakes on the northern slopes of the Tianshan Mountains since recent 4. years and the satellite RS data since recent 10 years by using the RS and GIS technologies. The results are as follows: (1) The overall trend of climate change on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains since recent 4. years is that both air temperature and precipitation are increased, especially the increase amplitudes of air tempera-ture, precipitation and annual runoff volume are high since the decade of the 1990s; (2) the in-tegrated indexes of the vegetation in all the geographical divisions on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains are obviously increased since recent 10 years, especially in the artificial oases and the foothill belts, such a change trend is advantageous for improving the vegetation ecology; and (3. the vegetation ecology in the arid areas is extremely sensitive to the climate change, the vegetation coverage and the biomass on the northern slope of the Tianshan Moun-tains are continuously increased because of the climate change since recent 10 years, their in-crease amplitudes in the plains and during the late stage are obviously higher than that in the mountainous regions and during the early stage.

In this paper, using the same simulated conditions that Lopez and Passi (1989) used, the method of Chen et a1.(1991) (CLG’s algorithm) for site error estimation has been performed. The results show that the CLG works well for a four-DF network but still has some shortcomings for a three-DF system. The reason why there is a big difference between a four-DF network and a three-DF network is also discussed and several measures to improve the performance of CLG’s algorithm are suggested. For practice, we have also done the simulated experiment for the Beijing local three-DF network. This is helpful for us to use the data obtained in this network.

Recently biospecific affinity chromatography has been widely used for the separation and purification of various enzymes and nucleic acids. In this paper, a series of synthetic reactions of solid-liquid phase were carried out on silica surface, using a macroporous(3. mu m), microspherical silica (8 mu m) as the matrix and gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as the activating agent, the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD) was bonded through its amino groups to the carboxylic groups of linked phospholipid which was bonded covalently on aminated support. The bonded stationary phase has high thermal stability, and could be used to separate of nucleotides with good resolution.

Heart valve diseases threaten human health. One reliable way to save lives of such patients is to replace the pathologically changed heart valves by artificial ones. Over 2 million patients have received LTI-carbon heart valve’s implantation. However, the thrombosis after the implantation is one of the difficulties that need to be solved. In order to improve the blood compatibility and security of mechanical heart valves, ion beam technology was used to modify the surface properties of the materials. The investigation results have been summarized in this paper.

Molybdenum nitride powder with 115 m^2g^(-1) of Sg has been prepared by atemperature programmed reaction of MoO_3.in H_2/N_2 mixture. It exhibited high catalyticactivity in CO oxidation at low temperatures. DTA in airflow showed that the crystalphase of Mo_2N was maintained under 500℃. The suitable operation temperature isbelow 500℃ in CO oxidation.

β-Ga2O3. Cr single crystals were grown by floating zone technique. Absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra were measured at room temperature. The values of field splitting parameter Dq and Racah parameter B were obtained by the peak values of absorption spectra. The value 10Dq/B=23.14.manifests that in β-Ga2O3.crystals Cr3. ions are influenced by low energy crystal field. After high temperature annealing in air, the Cr3. intrinsic emission was enhanced and the green lumines-cence disappeared. The strong and broad 691 nm emission was obtained at 4.0 nm excitation due to the electron transition occurred from 4.2 to 4.2. The studies manifest that the β-Ga2O3.crystals have the potential application for tunable laser.

Mitochondria experience continuous fusion and fission in a living cell, but their dynamics remains poorly quantified. Here a theoretical model was developed, upon a simplified population balance equation (PBE), to predict the morphological changes induced by mitochondrial fission and fusion. Assuming that both fission and fusion events are statistically independent, the survival probability of mitochondria staying in the fission or fusion state was formulated as an exponentially-decayed function with time, which depended on the time-dependent distribution of the mitochondrial volume and the fission and fusion rates. Parametric analysis was done for two typical volume distributions. One was Gamma distribution and the other was Gaussian distribution, derived from the measurements of volume distribution for individual mitochondria in a living cell and purified mitochondria in vitro. The predictions indicated that the survival probability strongly depended on morphological changes of individual mitochondria and was inversely correlated to the fission and fusion rates. This work provided a new insight into quantifying the mitochondrial dynamics via monitoring the evolution of the mitochondrial volume.
