Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of He-Ne laser in combination with topical clindamycin in the treatment of AV at 108 Military Central Hospital from Oct 2015 to Aug 2016. Subjects and Methods: 61 patients with AV were divided into 2 groups: Group 1: 31 patients were treated with He-Ne laser in combination with topical Clindamycin, Group 2: 30 patients were only treated with topical clindamycin. Laser HE-NE was applied 2 times/week n>for 6 weeks. Result: After 3 months of treatment Group 1: very good—51n>n>.6%, good—48.4%. Group 2: very good—30%, good—50% and moderate—20%. Conclusion: n>The combination of He-Ne laser with topical clindamycin shows more rapid clinical improvement compared to topical clindamycin alone in the treatment of mild and moderate AV.

Introduction: non-communicable diseases (nCDs) are on the increase in several sectors of activity. The aim of the study was to determine the frequencies of cardiovascular risk factors (CvRF) and factors associated with hypertension among hotel workers in the city of Bohicon. Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study conducted in the period from December 2018 to January 2019. The variables studied were sociodemographic, occupational, anthropometric and behavioral. Participant recruitment was exhaustive. A standardized questionnaire inspired by the STEPS-WHO questionnaire was used for data collection. After the descriptive analysis, a bivariate analysis was performed using Pearson’s Chi-square test or Fisher’s test at the 5% threshold. Results: A total of 101 workers, 53 (52.47%) of them male, participated in the study. The mean age was 30.60 ± 8.20 years, with extremes of 18 and 55 years. The frequencies of the main risk factors were: 68.32% sitting position > 6 hours/day;38.61% shift work;21.78% high psychological demand, 82.18% low decision latitude, 24.75% low social support, 21.78% occupational stress;7 (6.93%) harmful alcohol consumption;6.93% tobacco consumption;48.51% insufficient physical activity;98.02% insufficient fruit and vegetable consumption;59.41% overweight;14.85% HTA. Factors associated with hypertension were: sex, age and marital status. Conclusion: Occupational factors need to be taken into account when assessing CvRFs. nCD control programs are needed in all sectors of activity. A larger study is needed in the hotel sector.

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between inter canine width (ICW) and inter alar width (IAW), inter commissural width (ICoW), and inter canthal distance (ICaD) in Bantu population. Materials and Methods: It was a pilot study included all participants who were aged at least 18 years, without a history of orthodontics treatment from Prosthodontics Department, Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Kinshasa. The Ethics committee of the national Center of Research for Dental Sciences in DR Congo approved the study protocol (CnRSB 1504.218). The participants medical records were obtained from the interview and dental examination. nature of the study was explained with participant information sheet, and an informed consent of all participants was obtained. The inclusion criteria were no missing maxillary and mandibular teeth, no diastema, and no anterior restorations, 18 years old before enrollment in the study. The exclusion criteria were inability to meet the above requirements, pregnancy, and refusal to participate in the study. The inter-canine width (ICW), inter alar width (IAW), inter canthal distance (ICaD) and inter-commissural width (ICoW) of each participant were measured with a digital vernier caliper (Mitutoyo, UK Ltd.,) (0.01 mm) three times and the average value was recorded. The inter canthal distance (ICaD) was measured without applying pressure by bringing the recording parts of the caliper just in contact with the medial angle. The inter alar width (IAW) was marked with a fine marked pencil on the widest outer surface of the alae of the nose on either side or width. Those two points were measured without applying pressure by bringing the recording parts of the caliper just in contact with the outer surface. The participant was told to stop breathing shortly to avoid any change in shape of the nose. The inter-commissural width (ICoW) was determined by measuring the maxillary lip vermilion from commissure to commissure without the

We develop an efficient and accurate spectral deferred correction(SDC)method for fractional differential equations(FDEs)by extending the algorithm in[14]for classical ordinary differential equations(ODEs).Specifically,we discretize the resulted Picard integral equation by the SDC method and accelerate the convergence of the SDC iteration by using the generalized minimal residual algorithm(GMRES).We first derive the correction matrix of the SDC method for FDEs and analyze the convergence region of the SDC *** then present several numerical examples for stiff and non-stiff FDEs including fractional linear and nonlinear ODEs as well as fractional phase field models,demonstrating that the accelerated SDC method is much more efficient than the original SDC method,especially for stiff ***,we resolve the issue of low accuracy arising from the singularity of the solutions by using a geometric mesh,leading to highly accurate solutions compared to uniform mesh solutions at almost the same computational ***,for long-time integration of FDEs,using the geometric mesh leads to great computational savings as the total number of degrees of freedom required is relatively small.

水铁矿对土壤溶解性有机质的吸附固持作用

基于水解法将氯化铁和氢氧化钠合成了一种水铁矿,通过不同浓度水铁矿与土壤溶解性有机质(DOM)的混合避光培养实验,研究了水铁矿对土壤DOM的吸附固持作用。结果表明:在水铁矿浓度为10~30 g·L^(-1)范围内,水铁矿对土壤DOM的吸附能力与其浓度呈正相关。随着培养时间的延长,DOM的光谱斜率(S_(275-295))显著降低,表明水铁矿优先吸附土壤DOM中的大分子芳香族化合物。三维荧光光谱耦合平行因子模型(Eem-PARAFAC)分析表明,土壤DOM包含类腐殖质组分(C1)(Ex/em=240/410)、类色氨酸组分(C2)[Ex/em=290(240)/350]及类酪氨酸组分(C3)(Ex/em=270/300)3种荧光组分。3种组分荧光强度均随着培养时间延长呈现明显降低趋势,且类腐殖质组分的下降最为明显。被水铁矿吸附后,土壤DOM的腐殖化指数(HIX)显著降低且生物源指数(BIX)明显升高,表明随着吸附作用的进行,土壤DOM的腐殖质组分相对占比下降,而自生源组分相对占比上升。研究表明,水铁矿对土壤DOM有显著的吸附固持作用,且对大分子腐殖质物质吸附作用强于对小分子类蛋白组分,水铁矿对土壤DOM分子的固持作用能够提高土壤有机质的生物可利用度,改善土壤环境。
