Pushed by the Internet of Things(IoT)paradigm modern sensor networks monitor a wide range of phenomena,in areas such as environmental monitoring,health care,industrial processes,and smart *** networks provide a continuous pulse of the almost infinite activities that are happening in the physical space and are thus,key enablers for a Digital Earth nervous ***,the rapid processing of these sensor data streams still continues to challenge traditional data-handling solutions and new approaches are being *** propose a generic answer to this challenge,which has the potential to support any form of distributed real-time *** neutral methodology follows a brokering approach to work with different kinds of data sources and uses web-based standards to achieve *** a proof of concept,we implemented the methodology to detect anomalies in real-time and applied it to the area of environmental *** developed system is capable of detecting anomalies,generating notifications,and displaying the recent situation to the user.

The aim of the study is to examine the influence of the outplanting time on the cultivation of the kelp Laminaria saccharina in the northwestern Spain, close to its southern limit of distribution in the north Atlantic coast. We compared two L. saccharina cultures outplanted in February and December. We found that the starting time of outplanting affects to the yield and the substantiality value, as well as the growth rate. The yield, the substantiality value and the growth rates of L. saccharina sporophytes obtained for the trial outplanted in December were significantly higher than those in February. These results can be mainly explained by the effect of temperature on the growth of L. saccharina sporophytes during cultivation. On the other hand, our results show that even in the southern limit of distribution of L. saccharina, the cultivation of this species was very profitable in high yield and quality.

Traumatic brain injury is a global health crisis,causing significant death and disability *** that follows traumatic brain injury has serious consequences for neuronal survival and cognitive impairments,with astrocytes involved in this *** traumatic brain injury,astrocytes rapidly become reactive,and astrogliosis propagates from the injury core to distant brain *** astroglial proteins are downregulated near the traumatic brain injury core,while pro-inflammatory astroglial genes are *** altered gene expression is considered a pathological remodeling of astrocytes that produces serious consequences for neuronal survival and cognitive *** addition,glial scar formed by reactive astrocytes is initially necessary to limit immune cell infiltration,but in the long term impedes axonal reconnection and functional *** therapeutic strategies for traumatic brain injury are focused on preventing acute ***,cannabinoids,progesterone,beta-blockers,and cerebrolysin demonstrate neuroprotective benefits but most of them have not been studied in the context of *** this review,we discuss the cell signaling pathways activated in reactive astrocytes following traumatic brain injury and we discuss some of the potential new strategies aimed to modulate astroglial responses in traumatic brain injury,especially using cell-targeted strategies with miRnAs or lncRnA,viral vectors,and repurposed drugs.

A buckling model of Timoshenko micro-beam with local thickness defects is established based on a modified gradient *** introducing the local thickness defects function of the micro-beam,the variable coefficient differential equations of the buckling problem are obtained with the variational *** the eigensolution series of the complete micro-beam with the Galerkin method,we obtain the critical load and buckling modes of the micro-beam with *** results show that the depth and location of the defect are the main factors affecting the critical load,and the combined effect of boundary conditions and defects can significantly change the buckling mode of the *** effect of defect location on buckling is related to the axial gradient of the rotation angle,and defects should be avoided at the maximum axial gradient of the rotation *** model and method are also applicable to the static deformation and vibration of the micro-beam.
