Physicochemical and Bacteriological Profile of Bilanko and Ngamakala Peat Bog Soils (Republic of Congo)

Peatlands are unique and complex natural ecosystems that are part of the most important carbon reservoirs on our plane., home to a diversity of microorganisms responsible for fermentation, humification or peat. The aim is to understand chemical and biological indicators of peatland soils. This work aims to determine.the physicochemical and bacteriological profile and lipolytic activity of soil bacteria in Bilanko peatlands. The bacterial profile with the production of lipases is carried out by classical microbiology techniques. The results show that the soils are moderately acidic with temperatures of 27.8˚C ± 0.01˚C for Bilanko and 27.1˚C ± 0.57˚C for Ngamakala. The electroconductivity (EC) varies from (9.52 ± 0.002) μS/cm to (39.01 ± 1.4) μS/cm with low turbidity of (2.04 ± 0.66) mg/L to (31.02 ± 0.84) mg/L and low ion concentrations with, however, a richne.s in phenolic compounds for Bilanko compared to Ngamakala. FMAT diversity ranged from (1.71 ± 0.88)∙104 UFC/g to (2.92 ± 0.07)∙105 UFC/g for Bilanko and (1.30 ± 0.73)∙104 UFC/g to (2.89 ± 0.06)∙104 UFC/g for Ngamakala. Bacillus loads ranged from (5.20 ± 1.40)∙103 CFU/g to (1.22 ± 0.13)∙104 CFU/g and from (1.11 ± 0.13)∙104 CFU/g to (9.20 ± 2.05)∙103 CFU/g;enterobacteria loads from (1.40 ± 0.76)∙103 CFU/g to (8.80 ± 1.73)∙103 CFU/g and from (1.01 ± 0.02)∙103 CFU/g to (9.20 ± 2.05)∙103 CFU/g;in Pseudomonas from 0 to (2.30 ± 0.53)∙102 CFU/g and from 0 to (8.90 ± 2.35)∙102 CFU/g for Bilanko and Ngamakala respectively. These results reveal a variation in bacterial similarity and distribution in the Bilanko and Ngamakala peat bogs.

Traumatic Diaphragmatic Hernia in Children: A Case Report

Introduction: Traumatic diaphragmatic hernia is a rare condition in children complicating closed or pene.rating trauma to the abdomen and thorax. We report the case of an 11-year-old girl with a traumatic diaphragmatic hernia. Case Presentation: An 11-year-old girl was seen in the paediatric surgery department for a thoracolumbar spine.deformity and intermittent chest pain. These symptoms occurred after a domestic accident involving a fall from a low wall onto the thoracolumbar spine.5 months previously. The diagnosis was suggested by the presence of a left hemithoracic hydroaera and confirmed by a thoraco-abdominal CT scan. Surgical exploration revealed a line.r rupture of the entire left hemi-diaphragm with herniation of the stomach, small intestine. cecum, transverse colon and omentum. We performed a double-layer suture of the diaphragmatic rupture with a non-absorbable suture without edge rejuvenation after the reduction of the hernia. The outcome was favourable with normal postoperative radiographs at one.year follow-up. Conclusion: Traumatic diaphragmatic hernia, although uncommon and difficult to diagnose, is a condition that is relatively easy to manage surgically, even if it is discovered late. In all cases of trauma to the thoracolumbar spine. regular follow-up and repeat X-rays are ne.essary if pain persists.

ne.natal Intestinal Obstruction in Acute Renal Failure in Premature Infant: A Case Report

Introduction: Intestinal obstruction is a common cause of abdominal surgery in the ne.nate. Diagnosis is straightforward using standard radiology, and surgical technique depends on the underlying anatomical lesion. Peritone.l dialysis (PD) is an effective, albeit invasive, therapy for ne.natal renal failure. We report a case of ne.natal obstruction with severe renal failure treated by PD to highlight our hospital practice and possible remedies in a context of limited resources. Case Presentation: This was a female ne.nate of moderate prematurity admitted on day 4 of life for management of a flat ne.natal obstruction. Radiological diagnosis suggested small bowel atresia. Biological tests revealed severe renal failure with creatinine.levels of 416 micromoles per liter and blood urea of 27.1 micromoles per liter. Management consisted of preoperative peritone.l dialysis for 48 hours followed by laparotomy. The intraoperative diagnosis was GROSFELD type IIIa digestive atresia. The postoperative course was favourable, transit was resumed on day 5 and the patient returne. home on day 12. Progress at 3 months was satisfactory. Conclusion: ne.natal intestinal obstruction with renal failure in premature infants is associated with a poor prognosis, even more so if there is a delay in treatment. Peritone.l dialysis seems to be a suitable alternative for this management in our working conditions with limited resources.

Superficial Angiomyxoma of the Vulva: A Case Report

Superficial angiomyxoma is a rare benign mesenchymal tumor that mainly occurs in the genital region. We report the case of a 51-year-old woman with a painless vulvar mass, well circumscribed on ultrasound. On gross finding, it was a polypoid and bilobed mass, partially encapsulated. On histological examination, it was a proliferation of non-atypical spindle cells with an abundant, myxoid stroma and numerous medium-sized blood vessels. The diagnosis was superficial angiomyxoma. The clinical features do not often lead to the diagnosis of superficial vulvar angiomyxoma. It is based on histological examination and immunohistochemistry is helpful to differentiate it from other myxoid tumors.

Large Conventional Osteosarcoma of the Proximal Humerus in a 13-Year-Old Child: Case Report

Introduction: Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone.tumor in children. It is highly aggressive and has a poor prognosis. A late presentation modifies and makes difficult the management affecting the survival of children. We report the case of a large conventional osteosarcoma in a 13-year-old girl. Case Presentation: Adolescent girl admitted for painful swelling of the left shoulder with absolute functional impotence of the thoracic limb and severe ane.ia. The painful swelling was thought to have been caused by a minor trauma that had occurred six months previously. The patient’s gene.al condition was poor, and she presented with a large, shiny, painful mass over the shoulder and upper 2/3 of the left arm, measuring 28 cm long by 28 cm wide and 57 cm in circumference, and a large fistulous axillary adenopathy. CT scan showed a tumour lesion of the left humerus with liver and lung metastases, raising suspicion of osteogenic osteosarcoma. The tumor was classified according to TNM staging: T2N1M1(a + b). Management was modified when uncontrolled bleeding developed. It consisted of an extended amputation of the left thoracic limb. Pathological analysis showed a high-grade conventional osteosarcoma. Quality improvement was obtaine. for thirty days, followed by the onset of dyspne.. The evolution was towards death at forty days post-operatively. Conclusion: Osteosarcoma is a highly aggressive cancer. Delayed treatment leads to a fatal outcome. Early diagnosis is one.of the challenges to be met in order to improve survival.

This work reports the growth and characterization of p-AlInN layers doped with Mg by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy(PAMBE).AlInN was grown with an Al molar fraction of 0.80 by metal-modulated epitaxy(MME)with a thickne.s of 180 nm on Si(111)substrates using AlN as buffer *** substrate temperatures were used to enhance the incorporation of indium atoms into the alloy without clustering,as confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Cathodolumine.cence measurements revealed ultraviolet(UV)range ***,Hall effect measurements indicated a maximum hole mobility of 146 cm^(2)/(V∙s),corresponding to a free hole concentration of 1.23×10^(19)cm^(−3).The samples were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)estimating the alloy composition and extracting the Fermi level by valence band ***-doped AlInN layers were studied for use as the electron-blocking layer(EBL)in LED *** varied the Al composition in the EBL from 0.84 to 0.96 molar fraction to assess its theoretical effects on electrolumine.cence,carrier concentration,and electric field,using SILVACO *** results from this study highlight the importance and capability of producing high-quality Mg-doped p-AlInN layers through *** simulations suggest that an Al content of 0.86 is optimal for achieving desired outcomes in electrolumine.cence,carrier concentration,and electric field.

At the same time, she followed her own political career, always promoting a political agenda of education, peace and distribution of wealth. Her political leadership is an extraordinary example for leaders in Southern Africa and the world. This psychobiography contributes to expanding the psychobiographies on extraordinary women in political leadership in Southern Africa. Its aim is to present ne. insights into the life of Gra?a Machel and her political leadership as a woman leader in pan-African contexts from a psychobio-graphical perspective.
