SHRIMP zircon U-Pb geochronology of early Mesozoic felsic igneous rocks from the southern Lancangjiang and its tectonic implications

The SHRIMP zircon U-Pb geochronology of three typical samples, including two monzo nitic granites from the Lincang batholith and a rhyolite from the Manghuai Formation are presented in the southern Lancangjiang, western Yunnan Province. The analyses of zircons for the biotite monzonitic granites from the northern (02.X-13.) and southern (2.JH-10) Lincang batholith show the single and tight clusters on the concordia, and yield the weighted mean 2.6Pb/2.0}U ages of 2.9.4 ± 3.0 Ma and 2.0}.4 ± 3.6 Ma, respectively, representing the crystallized ages of these granites. The zircons for the rhyolitic sample (02.X-95) from the Manghuai Formation give a weighted mean 2.6Pb/2.0}U age of 2.0}.0 ± 5.0 Ma. These data suggest that the igneous rocks from the Lincang granitic batholith and Manghuai Formation have a similar crystallized age. In combination with other data, it is inferred that both were generated at a narrow age span (~2.0} Ma) and were originated from the postcollisional tectonic regime. An early Proterozoic 2.6Pb/2.0}U apparent age of 1977±44 Ma is additionally obtained from one zircon from the biotite monzonitic granite (southern Lincang batholith), indicative of devel- opment of the early Proterozoic Yangtze basement in the region. These precisely geochronological data provide important constraints on better understanding the Paleozoic tectonic evolution of the Tethys, western Yunnan Province.

Furan tebufenozide is a newly developed insect growth regulator and has been applied as a pesticide in agriculture in *** degradation under both laboratory and field conditions was investigated,and the degradation kinetics was fitted by simple first order kinetics (SFO) model and first order double exponential (FOD) *** studies were conducted with or without light in five simulated media (sterilized deionized water,river water,soil solution,sterilized soil and natural soil).No dissipations of furan tebufenozide were observed in sterilized aqueous and soil media under light prevented conditions,whereas degradation occurred under all the other conditions in the *** from SFO and FOD models,DT50 in the dark and light laboratory conditions was in the range of 3..7-82.5 and 1.1-8.0 days,*** results indicated that microbes and light were the main factors for the degradation of the pesticide in the *** field trials,derived from the SFO model,DT50 and DT90 were 3..3.and 100.5 days,while derived from the FOD model,DT50 and DT90 were 2..9 and 2.4.9 days,*** with laboratory experiments,field trials were influenced by multiple ***,the SFO model could not fit experimental data as well as the FOD model did in field trials.

The comparison of degradation of Acid Yellow 61 as a model dye compound in both oxidation processes of H 2. 2.UV and O 3.has been studied. When the decolorization rate of Acid Yellow 61 in both reactions presented similar, it was found there are some differences from the results of AOX removal and production of inorganic ions and organic acids. The results reveal that the H 2. 2.UV has beneficial effect on mineralization than O 3.only for degradation of Acid Yellow 61 solution and it is possible for enhancement of method efficiency by taking longer reaction time and addition of high concentration of oxidants.

Influence of organic amendments on the sorption of pentachlorophenol on soils

The influence of pH on the sorption of pentachlorophenol （PCP） onto three organic amendments, char, humic acid （HA） and peat, and the effect of organic amendments on PCP sorption to three kinds of soils were evaluated. The sorption of PCP on these sorbents fitted the Freundlich model well, suggesting that PCP sorption isotherms were nonlinear with exponential coefficient （N） value lower than 1. The PCP sorption capacity on three organic amendments and the N values increased with decreasing pH. The sorption capacities were in the order： char 〉 HA 〉 peat. Organic amendments resulted in an enhancement of sorption capacities of soils. The N values of PCP sorption on soils were decreased by char amendment and increased by HA and peat amendments. This study demonstrated that application of traditional organic amendments led to the enhancement of PCP sorption by soils. This information may aid both in predicting environmental fates of hydrophobic ionizable organic compounds and in developing remediation strategies for them.

It is well known that the mining industry produces a large amount of derelict land, and causes pollution of water loss and soil erosion as well as other environmental damage in china. As land is under pressure in china, it is now policy to restore or reclaim land despoiled by mining, the aim being to develop sustainable and healthy arable land {3.systems. This paper outlines the principles and approaches of {3.logical restoration, which have been adopted in Shanxi Province with reference to three typical surface mines. In the research, the principles of {3.logical engineering and {3.logical succession are considered as the critical theories of {3.logical restoration in mine degraded land. Meanwhile, the paper made a comparative research on main links of {3.logical rebuilding in three surface mines in Shanxi Province, which include new land construction, treatment of toxic substances, control of soil erosion, fertility management, irrigation, {3.logical planning and the establishment of legislation systems. As the research demonstrated, for successful restoration, new land construction is the fundamental framework, but it must be integrated with {3.logical engineering including {3.logical planning, the control of soil erosion and vegetation establishment and {3.system creation in order to optimise land productivity and soil fertility. In addition, the establishment of the legislation systems and organization of administration are also indispensable aspects of {3.logical rebuilding in mined land.

The term of ''Tali Glaciation'' is nominated from Massif Diancang in Yunnan Province. The confusing process of the term''s being put forward is confirmed through literature checking. Based on several times of field trip, the glacial landforms in this region are studied in detail, and the magnitude of the glaciation was determined. According to the numerical ages from TL, AIMS ^(14)C and OSL dating, the earliest glacial advance on Massif Diancang occurred at 3.—40 ka BP, followed by the advances at the last stage of the last glaciation, the late glacial and neoglations in turn, until glaciers vanished at 1.2.1.5 ca. a BP in this region. It can be concluded that glaciers were limited above 3.00 m a.s.l., and no glaciers existed on the lower part and adjacent mountains since the last glaciation.

The hydrolytic dynamics of pesticide N' -(2.4-dimethylphenyl)-N-methylformamidine (DMA) in aquatic solution and its degradation in simulated aquatic ecosystem were investigated. The results showed that the compound was not very stable in aqueous solution and easily decomposed in alkaline solution. It was stable below pH5 and there was obvious tendency that the compound was easily decomposed when PH was greater than 6. The reaction rate constant of DMA increased with increasing of either pH value Or temperature of reaction medium. The half-life values of hydrolysis for DMA at 2.℃ were 15. 92.days at pH 6, and 1. 40 days at pH 9 , respectively. The temperature coefficient and activation energy of hydrolysis for DMA was 2. 9 and 78. 74kJ. mol-1 , respectively. The degradation of DMA in simulated aquatic ecosystem was similar to that in buffer solution in the laboratory. The half-life values of degradation for DMA at 2.℃ in simulated aquatic ecosystem were 3. 2.5}days at pH 9. 13.and 1. 41 days at pH 8. 2. , respectively.

Concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls （PCBs） have been measured in sewage sludge samples from 8 urban wastewater treatment plants in beijing, china. The PCB congeners were analyzed by isotope dilution high resolution gas chromatography/high resolution mass spectrometry method. The concentration of PCBs ranged from 65.6 to 157 ng/g dry weight （dw）, with a mean value of 101 ng/g dw. The dioxin-like PCB WHO-TEQs （World Health Organization-Toxic Equivalents） of the sludge were lower than 1 pg /g dw. Consequently, all the concentrations of PCBs in sludge samples were below the upper limit for land application according to the {2. legislation law for agriculture use. The PCB homologue profiles in sludge samples were dominated by tri-CBs and tetra- CBs. Similar distributions have been found in one of the {2. PCB commercial products. The patterns of dioxin-like and indicator congeners observed in this study were quite similar in all samples. The predominant congener for dioxin-like and indicator PCBs were PCB-118 and PCB-2., respectively, while PCB-12. had the highest TEQ value.

A micrometer-sized nanostructured,magnetic,ball-like FexOy-CeO2.composite was synthesized through an ethylene-glycol mediated *** synthesized samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy combined with energydisperse X-ray analysis,transmission electron microscopy and X-ray powder *** the synthesis system,polyethylene glycol (PEG) and urea were found to play significant roles in the formation of the micrometer-sized spherical architecture of the *** details of morphology and particle size could be changed with the initial concentration of Fe(NO3.3.9H2. and Ce(NO3.3.6H2. as the *** magnetic FexOy-CeO2.composite with a similar morphology was readily obtained by calcination from the *** characterization of transmission electron microscopy showed the calcined ball-like architecture was a highly porous structure consisting of many *** of the micrometer-sized nanostructure and the multi-components as well as the magnetism,the as-obtained FexOy-CeO2.composite showed better activity and potentially easy recovery for the harmless degradation of hexachlorobenzene (HCB).
