Land use/land cover represents the interactive and comprehensive influences between human activities and natural conditions,leading to potential conflicts among natural and human-related issues as well as among *** study introduced economic standards for farmers.A hybrid approach(CA-ABM)of cellular automaton(CA)and an agent-based model(ABM)was developed to effectively deal with social and land-use synergic issues to examine human–environment interactions and projections of land-use conversions for a humid basin in south *** attributes and socioeconomic data were used to analyze land use/land cover and its drivers of *** major modules of the CA-ABM are initialization,migration,assets,land suitability,and land-use change *** estimates of the factors influencing the urban land-use conversion probability were captured using parameters based on a spatial logistic regression(SLR)***,multicriteria evaluation(MCE)and Markov models were introduced to obtain empirical estimates of the factors affecting the probability of ecological land *** agent-based CA-SLR-MCE-Markov(ABCSMM)land-use conversion model was proposed to explore the impacts of policies on land-use *** model can reproduce observed land-use patterns and provide links for forest transition and urban expansion to land-use decisions and ecosystem *** results demonstrated land-use simulations under multi-policy scenarios,revealing the usefulness of the model for normative research on land-use management.

The redox couple of I0/I-in aqueous rechargeable iodine-zinc（I2-Zn）batteries is a promising energy storage resource since it is safe and costeffective,and provides steady output ***,the cycle life and efficiency of these batteries remain unsatisfactory due to the uncontrolled shuttling of polyiodide（I3-and I5-） and side reactions on the Zn anode.

Bubble coalescence in interacting system of DNA molecules

We consider two models of interacting DNA molecules:First is(four parametric)bubble coalescence model in interacting DNAs(shortly:BCI-DNA).Second is(three parametric)bubble coalescence model in a condensed DNA molecules(shortly BCC-DNA).To study bubble coalescence thermodynamics of BCI-DNA and BCC-DNA models we use methods of statistical ***,we define Hamiltonian of each model and give their translation-invariant Gibbs measures(TIGMs).For the first model,we find parameters such that corresponding Hamiltonian has up to three TIGMs(three phases of system)biologically meaning existence of three states:“No bubble coalescence”,“Dominated soft zone”,“Bubble coalescence”.For the second model,we show that for any(admissible)parameters,this model has unique *** is a state where“No bubble coalescence”phasedominates.

Broadband photodetection,spanning from ultraviolet(uV)to infrared(IR),is pivotal in diverse technological domains including astronomy,remote sensing,environmental monitoring,and medical ***,current commercially available broadband photodetectors,predominately based on conventional narrow-bandgap semiconductors,exhibit limited sensitivity in the uV *** limitation,stemming from the significant energy disparity between the semiconductor bandgap and uV photon,narrows their application ***,we report an innovative approach involving the in-situ van der Waals(vdW)integration of two-dimensional(2D)GeSe_(2)layers onto a Si *** process yields a high-quality GeSe_(2)/Si vdW heterojunction device,which features a broad response range covering from uV to near-IR(NIR)with a greatly-enhanced sensitivity in the uV *** device possesses high responsivities of 325 and 533.4 mA/W,large detectivities of 1.24×10^(13)and 2.57×10^(13)Jones,and fast response speeds of 20.6/82.1 and 17.7/81.0μs under 360 and 980 nm,***,the broadband image sensing and secure invisible optical communication capabilities of the GeSe_(2)/Si heterojunction device are *** work provides a viable approach for uV-enhanced broadband photodetection technology,opening up new possibilities and applications across various scientific and technological domains.

Stakeholder Theory, Public Engagement, and Epistemic Injustice: The Case of Covid-19 Vaccine Hesitancy in Scotland's African, Caribbean, and Black Communities

The adoption of a stakeholder approach to public engagement within the public sector has been extensive. However, there remain critical gaps in the understanding of stakeholder participation arising from hidden disparities that contribute to unequal access to communication channels, information, and hence ultimately knowledge and decision making. The term "epistemic injustice" has been used to describe such inequality of access and consequently, the outcome that ensues. Epistemic injustice is much overlooked in stakeholder theory. This article shows how epistemic injustice can act as a barrier to effective stakeholder engagement and hence to successful public policy formulation and implementation. We use the case of vaccine hesitancy among Scotland's African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities to illustrate this problem of unequal participation. The study drew on primary data involving 85 participants and secondary data sources from extant literature and explored salient factors shaping barriers to vaccine uptake during the recent pandemic. The findings demonstrate how the failure to grasp epistemic injustice undermines the effectiveness of the stakeholder approach, even with the most well-intentioned efforts. We argue that epistemic injustice is a critical barrier to effective stakeholder approaches.

The application of the strip-shaped cymba conchae orthosis in the nonsurgical correction of complex auricular deformity

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of using a strip-shaped cymba conchae orthosis for the nonsurgical correction of complex auricular deformities. Methods: Clinical data were collected from 2020 to 2021 for 6 patients who underwent correction using a stripshaped cymba conchae orthosis. The indications, corrective effects, and complications associated with use of the orthosis were analyzed. Results: There were four indications for treatment: cryptotia with helix adhesion;cryptotia with grade I microtia;cryptotia with excessive helix thickness;and auricular deformity beyond the treatment time window(≥6 months). Excellent corrective effects were observed in all 6 patients. Complications occurred in one patient, who recovered after symptomatic treatment. Conclusion: The use of a strip-shaped cymba conchae orthosis alone or combined with a u-shaped helix orthosis presents a feasible approach for correcting complex auricular deformities or deformities beyond the treatment time window in pediatric patients.

Internet of Things(IoT)based sensor network is largely utilized in various field for transmitting huge amount of data due to their ease and cheaper *** performing this entire process,there is a high possibility for data corruption in the mid of *** the other hand,the network performance is also affected due to various *** address these issues,an efficient algorithm that jointly offers improved data storage and reliable routing is ***,after the deployment of sensor nodes,the election of the storage node is achieved based on a fuzzy expert *** Random Linear Network Coding(IRLNC)is used to create an encoded *** encoded packet from the source and neighboring nodes is transmitted to the storage ***,to transmit the encoded packet from the storage node to the destination shortest path is found using the Destination Sequenced Distance Vector(DSDV)*** analysis of the proposed work is carried out by evaluating some of the statistical *** residual energy,packet delivery ratio,compression ratio and storage time achieved for the proposed work are 8.8%,0.92%,0.82%,and 69 *** on this analysis,it is revealed that better data storage system and system reliability is attained using this proposed work.
