Dynamic Sulfur-Rich Polymers from Elemental Sulfur and Epoxides

Sulfur-containing dynamic polymers had attracted significant attention due to their unique chemical structures with high *** sulfur, an inexpensive industrial waste product, to synthesize dynamic polysulfide polymers through reverse vulcanization has been a notable approach. However, this method required high temperatures and resulted in the release of unpleasant oders. In this study, we presented a robust method for the preparation of sulfur-rich polymers with dynamic polysulfide bonds from elemental sulfur and inexpensive epoxide monomers via a one-pot strategy at the mild room temperature. Different types of polysulfide molecules and polymers were synthesized by reacting various epoxide compounds with sulfur, along with the investigation of their structures and dynamic behaviors. It was noteworthy that the obatined polymers prepared from m-(2.3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2.3-epoxypropyl)aniline and elemental sulfur exhibit multiple dynamic behaviors, including polysulfide metathesis and polysulfide-thiol exchange, enabling their rapid stress relaxation, self-healing, reprocessing and degradable properties of the cross-linked polymer. More importantly, the hydroxyl groups at the side chains from epoxide ring opening exhibited potential transesterification. This work provided a facile strategy for designing dynamic sulfur-rich polymers via a mild synthesis route.

Single-molecule localization microscopy(SMLM)enables three-dimensional(3D)investigation of nanoscale structures in biological samples,offering unique insights into their ***,traditional 3D super-resolution microscopy using high numerical aperture(NA)objectives is limited by imaging depth of field(DOF),restricting their practical application to relatively thin biological ***,we developed a unified solution for thick sample super-resolution imaging using a deformable mirror(DM)which served for fast remote focusing,optimized point spread function(PSF)engineering,and accurate aberration *** effectively correcting the system aberrations introduced during remote focusing and sample aberrations at different imaging depths,we achieved high-accuracy,large DOF imaging(~8μm)of the whole-cell organelles[i.e.,nuclear pore complex(NPC),microtubules,and mitochondria]with a nearly uniform resolution of approximately 35 nm across the entire cellular volume.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of solid-state fermentation products of yeast(SFPY)on liver and intestinal health and disease resistance of common carp(Cyprinus carpio).A total of 2.0 common carp with an initial average weight of 2.55±0.004 g were divided into 5 groups(4 replications per group and 10 fish per replication),and were fed with one of five diets,including a control diet and 4 diets supplemented with 2.(Y2.,3‰(Y3),4‰(Y4),or 5‰(Y5)SFPY,respectively,for 8 *** indicated that,the addition of SFPY to the diet of common carp did not affect the growth performance or survival rate of fish(P=0.2.3).Interestingly,with the addition of SFPY,the triacylglycerol(TAG)content of the liver presented a linear decreasing tendency(P=0.004),with significantly decreased in Y4 and Y5 groups(P=0.035)compared with *** lipopolysaccharide(LPS)content and diamine oxidase(DAO)activity presented a negative linear relationship with the addition of SFPY(P=0.015,P=0.030),while serum lipopolysaccharide binding protein(LBP)content first decreased and then increased(P2.),reaching the highest level in Y5 *** villus height in all experimental groups were significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.001).Furthermore,compared to the control,adding 3‰SFPY to the control diet of common carp significantly increased the relative abundance of Fusobacteria(P=0.018)and decreased that of Proteobacteria(P=0.039)at phylum level,and increased the relative abundance of Cetobacterium(P=0.018)and decreased that of Shewanella(P=0.013)at genus *** with the control,the relative mRNA expression level of spring viraemia of carp virus N protein(SVCV-n)in the kidney was lower than that of the control group without significance and bottomed out in Y4 group(P=0.138).In conclusion,dietary SFPY enhanced the SVCV resistance capa

Dear Editor,Bamboos(Bambusoideae,Poaceae)are of significant economic and ecological importance,supporting billions of people and contributing to international trade(Wu et al.,2.2.).They play a crucial role in carbon fixation and support a multitude of other species including the giant panda(Clark et al.,2.15).Since the release of the first draft genome of moso bamboo(Phyllostachys edulis)(Peng et al.,2.13),there has been a notable increase in the sequencing,assembly,and annotation of diverse bamboo genomes(Guo et al.,2.19;zheng et al.,2.2.;Ma et al.,2.2.).An existing resource for bamboo genomics,BambooGDB(Zhao et al.,2.14),provides information based on the individual draft reference genome of moso *** is needed,however,is a resource reinforcing multiple genome assemblies in Bambusoideae to enable researchers to unravel the evolutionary history of chromosomes and genes through cladespecific comparative genomic ***,we present BambooBase(https://***/),a newly developed web-based database designed to provide a seamless user experience for bamboo omics and systematics.

Neuroprotective effects of Shaoyao Gancao decoction against excitatory damage in PC12.cells based on the Src-NR2.nNOS pathway

Objective To explore the neuroprotective effects of the Shaoyao Gancao decoction(SGD)against excitatory damage in PC12.cells and the role of the Src-NR2.nNOS pathway mediation by SGD in regulatingγ-aminobutyric acid(GABA)-glutamate(Glu)*** N-Methyl-d-aspartic acid(NMDA)was used to establish a PC12.cell excitability injury *** investigate the neuroprotective effect of SGD,a cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)assay was used to determine PC12.cell viability,Annexin V/Propidium Iodide(Annexin V/PI)double staining was used to determine PC12.cell apoptosis,and Ca^(2.)concentration was observed using laser confocal *** receptor agonists and antagonists were used to analyze the neuroprotective interactions betweenγ-aminobutyric acid(GABA)and NMDA ***,molecular biology techniques were used to determine mRNA and protein expression in the Src-NR2.nNOS *** analyzed the correlations between the regulatory sites of GABA and NMDA interactions,excitatory neurotoxicity,and brain damage at the molecular *** NMDA excitotoxic injury manifested as a significant decrease in cell activity,increased apoptosis and caspase-3 protein expression,and a significant increase in intracellular Ca^(2.)*** of SGD,a GABAA receptor agonist(muscimol),or a GABAB receptor agonist(baclofen)decreased intracellular Ca^(2.)concentrations,attenuated apoptosis,and reversed NMDA-induced upregulation of caspase-3,Src,NMDAR2.,NMDAR2.,and ***,a GABA_(A)receptor antagonist(bicuculline)and a GABA_(B)receptor antagonist(saclofen)failed to significantly increase excitatory *** Taken together,these results not only provide an experimental basis for SGD administration in the clinical treatment of central nervous system injury diseases,but also suggest that the Src-NR2.-nNOS pathway may be a valuable target in excitotoxicity treatment.

The epidemiological characteristics and distributions of two epidemics in Fujian Province of Southeast China were attributed to the complex interactions among variant,host,and non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs).All reported cases in the Putian epidemic(September 8–October 2.2.2.,Delta variant B.1.617.2.and Fuzhou epidemic(October 2.–November 18,2.2.,Omicron variant BA.5.2.were classified by sex,age group,occupation,and location in this *** surveillance data from the Fujian Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention,we established a virus-oriented SVEIR(Susceptible–Vaccinated–Exposed–Infected–Recovered)model to investigate the dynamic evolution features of these two variants and the effects of *** optimal simulations were carried out with variants and scenario *** scenario investigations showed that NPIs significantly reduced the transmission risk and infection scales of COVID-19,and that the Omicron variant was more infectious than the Delta ***,the dynamic investigations revealed the increasing tendencies from Delta to Omicron,such as the basic reproduction number,infection rate,percentage of high-risk cases,and the growth *** tendencies were also identified,such as the average recovery period,the awareness delay,and the percentage of symptomatic *** study highlighted that NPIs played critical roles in successfully containing the two *** interventions are strongly recommended to public health policymakers.

Associations between the use of red yeast rice preparations and adverse health outcomes:An umbrella review of meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials

Clinicopathological significance and immunotherapeutic outcome of claudin 18.2.expression in advanced gastric cancer:A retrospective study

Objective: Immunotherapeutic outcomes and clinical characteristics of claudin 18 isoform 2.positive(CLDN18.2.positive) gastric cancer(GC) vary in different clinical studies, making it difficult to optimize antiCLDN18.2.therapy. We conducted a retrospective analysis to explore the association of CLDN18.2.expression with clinicopathological characteristics and immunotherapeutic outcomes in ***: A total of 536 advanced GC patients from 2.19 to 2.2. in the CT041-CG4006 and CT041-ST-01clinical trials were included in the analysis. CLDN18.2.expression on ≥40% of tumor cells(2., 40%) and CLDN18.2.expression on ≥70% of tumor cells(2., 70%) were considered the two levels of positively expressed GC. The clinicopathological characteristics and immunotherapy outcomes of GC patients were analyzed according to CLDN18.2.expression ***: CLDN18.2.was expressed in 57.6%(cut-off: 2., 40%) and 48.9%(cut-off: 2., 70%) of *** death-ligand 1(PD-L1) and CLDN18.2.were co-expressed in 19.8% [combined positive score(CPS)≥1, CLDN18.2.cut-off: 2., 40%)] and 17.2. [CPS≥5, CLDN18.2.cut-off: 2., 70%)] of ***18.2.expression positively correlated with younger age, female sex, non-gastroesophageal junction(nonGEJ), and diffuse phenotype(P2.and PD-L1 expression were significantly lower in CLDN18.2.positive GC(both P2.positive GC. Overall survival and immunotherapy-related progression-free survival(ir PFS) were inferior in the CLDN18.2.positive ***: CLDN18.2.positive GC is associated with poor prognosis and worse immunotherapeutic outcomes. The combination of anti-CLDN18.2.therapy, anti-PD-L1/PD-1 therapy, and chemotherapy for GC requires further investigation.

The unstable electrolyte/lithium(Li)anode interface has been one of the key challenges in realizing high energy density solid-state lithium metal batteries(LMBs)***,a dense and uniform silver(Ag)nano interlayer with a thickness of∼35 nm is designed accurately by magnetron sputtering technology to optimize the electrolyte/Li anode *** Ag nano layer reacts with Li metal anode to in-situ form Li-Ag alloy,thus enhancing the physical interfacial contact,and further improving the interfacial wettability and *** particular,the Li-Ag alloy is inclined to form AgLi phase proved by cryo-TEM and DFT,effectively preventing SN from continuously“attacking”the Li metal anode due to the lower adsorption of succinonitrile(SN)molecules on AgLi than that of pure Li metal,thereby significantly reinforcing the interfacial ***,the enhanced physical and chemical stability of electrolyte/Li anode interface promotes the homogeneous deposition of Li^(+)and inhibits the dendrite *** Li-symmetric cell maintains stable operation for up to 1700 h and the cycling stability of LiFePO_(4)|SPE|Li full cell is remarkably improved at room temperature(capacity retention rate of 91.9%for 2.0 cycles).This work opens an effective way for accurate and controllable interface design of long lifespan solid-state LMBs.
