Flexible multilayer MEMS coils and their application in energy harvesters

Electromagnetic vibration energy harvesters are promising for the power supply of wireless sensor nodes,small electronic devices,and wearable *** electromagnetic harvesters usually increase output by increasing the size of coils and magnets,limiting the improvement of energy conversion efficiency and power *** this study,multilayer microelectromechanical system(MEMS)coils were prepared using flexible electronics,and their high integration performance in arbitrary space was utilized to greatly improve the utilization of the space magnetic field by the electromagnetic *** core magnet of the generator was magnetically balanced to achieve levitation,which improved the sensitivity and reduced fatigue damage compared with traditional spring *** wound coils on the top and bottom of the magnet and the flexible coils on the sides worked together to improve the energy efficiency and output of the *** output performance of the device with different number distributions was simulated using mathematical models to obtain the optimal structural *** results show that by introducing flexible multilayer MEMS coils on the side surface of the energy harvester,the open-circuit voltage of the energy generators increased from 7 to 10 V by more than 43%.Flexible multilayer MEMS coils can enhance energy conversion rates and possess compact dimensions,making them suitable for integration onto complex *** the vibration energy harvesting system testing,the maximum peak power of the harvester was 7.1 m W at an acceleration of1 g and a resonant frequency of 11 Hz with a resistor of 3.5 kΩinternal ***,a 470μF capacitor can be charged to 3.5 V within 10 s to drive a hygrothermograph to work for more than 80 s and can supply a light bulb *** strategy shows the great potential of vibration-energy-driven electromagnetic generators for powering small electronics in limited spaces.

Weather conditions play a pivotal role in embryo development and parental incubation costs,potentially impacting the clutch size and incubation behavior of *** these effects is crucial for bird ***’ s Pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii) is a threatened species endemic to China,which is characterized by female-only ***,there is a lack of information regarding the impact of weather conditions on clutch size and incubation behavior in this *** satellite tracking,we tracked 2. wild female Reeves’ s Pheasants from 2.2. to 2.2. in Hubei Province,*** explored their clutch size and incubation behavior,as well as their responses to ambient temperature and *** size averaged 7.75 ±1.36,had an association with average ambient temperature and average daily precipitation during the egglaying period,and was potentially linked to female breeding *** the incubation period,females took an average of 0.73 ±0.46 recesses every 2. h,with an average recess duration of 100.80 ±73.37 min and an average nest attendance of 92.98 ±5.2.%.They showed a unimodal recess pattern in which nest departures peaked primarily between 13:00 and 16:***,females rarely left nests when daily precipitation was *** duration and nest attendance were influenced by the interaction between daily mean ambient temperature and daily precipitation,as well as day of ***,there was a positive correlation between clutch size and recess *** results contribute valuable insights into the lifehistory features of this endangered species.

A theoretical model of turbulent fiber suspension is developed by deriving the equations of Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes,turbulence kinetic energy and turbulence dissipation rate with the additional term of *** order to close the above equations,the equation of probability distribution function for mean fiber orientation is also *** theoretical model is applied to the turbulent channel flow and the corresponding equations are solved *** numerical results are verified by comparisons with the experimental *** effects of Reynolds number,fiber concentration and fiber aspect-ratio on the velocity profile,turbulent kinetic energy and turbulent dissipation rate are *** on the numerical data,the expression for the velocity profile in the turbulent fiber suspension channel flow,which includes the effect of Reynolds number,fiber concentration and aspect-ratio,is proposed.

Flexible sensors have been widely studied for use in motion monitoring,human‒machine interactions(HMIs),personalized medicine,and soft intelligent ***,their practical application is limited by their low output performance,narrow measuring range,and unidirectional force ***,to achieve flexibility and high performance simultaneously,we developed a flexible wide-range multidimensional force sensor(FWMFS)similar to bones embedded in muscle *** adjustable magnetic field endows the FWMFS with multidimensional perception for detecting forces in different *** multilayer stacked coils significantly improved the output from theμV to the mV level while ensuring FWMFS *** optimized FWMFS exhibited a high voltage sensitivity of 0.2.7 mV/N(0.5–8.4 N)and 0.047 mV/N(8.4–60 N)in response to normal forces ranging from 0.5 N to 60 N and could detect lateral forces ranging from 0.2.1.1 N and voltage sensitivities of 1.039 mV/N(0.2.0.5 N)and 0.194 mV/N(0.5–1.1 N).In terms of normal force measurements,the FWMFS can monitor finger pressure and sliding trajectories in response to finger taps,as well as measure plantar pressure for assessing human *** plantar pressure signals of five human movements collected by the FWMFS were analyzed using the k-nearest neighbors classification algorithm,which achieved a recognition accuracy of 92..Additionally,an artificial intelligence biometric authentication system is being developed that classifies and recognizes user *** on the lateral force measurement ability of the FWMFS,the direction of ball movement can be distinguished,and communication systems such as Morse Code can be *** research has significant potential in intelligent sensing and personalized spatial recognition.

In our daily lives,low-frequency kinetic energy primarily manifests as ***,effective harnessing of lowfrequency kinetic energy remains a formidable *** paper proposes a rope-driven rotor that rotates around an axis and consists of an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene(UHMWPE)wire wrapped around a metal *** rotor can convert ultra-low frequency vibration/linear motion into rapid rotation by pressing the top at low frequencies and driving the rope for a quick *** harvester can generate up to 36.2. m W power using a 0.1-mm-diameter UHMWPE wire as the rotor when periodically pressed down to 2. mm at a frequency of 1 Hz.A simple power generation floor is assembled,generating 2..58-m W power with a matching load at a frequency of 1.5 ***,the harvester can increase the charging voltage of a 0.47-F supercapacitor from 0 to 6.8 V within 10 *** addition,the harvester can harvest energy through a light finger press motion,and the energy obtained can also support the continuous operation of multiple electronic devices *** study introduces an effective method for harvesting ultra-low frequency energy and has great prospects in the field of power generation floor and human movement energy harvesting.

Shape blending of artistic brushstroke represented by disk B-spline curves

This paper presents an algorithm for automatically generating in-between frames of two artistic brushstrokes. The basic idea of the algorithm is to represent the two key frames of artistic brushstrokes in disk B-spline curves, and then make blending of their geometric intrinsic variables. Given two key frames of artistic brushstrokes, the skeleton curves can be obtained by certain skeleton-based techniques. After disk B-spline representation of the key frames is generated, interpolation of the intrinsic variables of the initial and the target disk B-spline curves is carried out. Examples show that this method can efficiently create in-between frames of artistic brushstrokes.

Electro-mechanical response of functionally graded beams with imperfectly integrated surface piezoelectric layers

The time-dependent behavior of a simply-supported functionally graded beam bonded with piezoelectric sensors and actuators is studied using the state-space method. The creep behavior of bonding adhesives between piezoelectric layers and beam is characterized by a Kelvin-Voigt viscoelastic model, which is practical in a high temperature circumstance. Both the host elastic functionally graded beam and the piezoelectric layers are orthotropic and in a state of plane stress, with the former being inhomogeneous along the thickness direction. A laminate model is employed to approximate the host beam. Moreover, the coupling effect between the elastic deformation and electric field in piezoelectric layers is considered. Results indicate that the viscoelastic property of interfacial adhesives has a significant effect on the function of bonded actuators and sensors with time elapsing.

This paper investigates the semi-online scheduling problem with the known largest size on two uniform machines. The objective is to maximize the minimum machine completion time. Both lower bounds and algorithms are given. Algorithms are optimal for the majority values of s≥1, where s is the speed ratio of the two machines. The largest gap between the competitive ratio and the lower bound is about 0.064. Moreover, the overall competitive ratio 2.matches the overall lower bound.
