A study of novel real-time power balance strategy with virtual asynchronous machine control for regional integrated electric-thermal energy systems

The development of regional integrated electric-thermal energy systems(RIETES) is considered a promising direction for modern energy supply systems. These systems provide a significant potential to enhance the comprehensive utilization and efficient management of energy resources. Therein, the real-time power balance between supply and demand has emerged as one pressing concern for system stability operation. However, current methods focus more on minute-level and hour-level power optimal scheduling methods applied in RIETES. To achieve real-time power balance, this paper proposes one virtual asynchronous machine(VAM) control using heat with large inertia and electricity with fast response speed. First, the coupling timescale model is developed that considers the dynamic response time scales of both electric and thermal energy systems. Second, a real-time power balance strategy based on VAM control can be adopted to the load power variation and enhance the dynamic frequency response. Then, an adaptive inertia control method based on temperature variation is proposed, and the unified expression is further established. In addition, the small-signal stability of the proposed control strategy is validated. Finally, the effectiveness of this control strategy is confirmed through MATLAB/Simulink and HIL(Hardware-in-the-Loop) experiments.

Al-containing Ge-rich IWV:rapid synthesis via interzeolite transformation and application in Baeyer-Villiger oxidation

Ge-containing Lewis acidic zeolites are typically synthesized using a conventional hydrothermal strategy from amorphous silica sources,through a long time-and energy-consuming approach limiting their wide *** study reports a rapid synthesis strategy for a series of IWV aluminogermanosilicate zeolites(T-x-Al)with a wide range of Si/Ge molar ratios(5–1.)by interzeolite transformation of dealuminated FAU(DA-FAU).Notably,Ge-rich IWV could be obtained with crystallization time as short as one day by the equimolecular Si/Ge ratio *** effect of synthetic parameters was investigated and the obtained T-x-Al samples were characterized by XRD,SEM,EDS,ICP,^(29)Si and^(27)Al MAS NMR,FTIR,and N_(2)physisorption *** with a previously reported IWV germanosilicate(H-3),T-x-Al displayed a better catalytic activity in Baeyer-Villiger(BV)oxidation,attributed to the presence of the active framework Ge sites with the assistance of the extraframework Al *** cyclic catalysis tests revealed that the presence of framework Al species contributed to the stability of the ***,T-x-Al,with 1.-membered ring(MR)supercages,outperformed the typical 1.-MR Sn-beta catalyst in the BV oxidation of large ketone-like 2-admantanone,indicating a promising potential application in the macromolecular catalytic process.

Understanding plant water-use patterns is important for improving water-use efficiency and for sustainable vegetation restoration in arid and semi-arid regions. However, seasonal variations in water sources and their control by different sand-fixing plants in water-limited desert ecosystems remain poorly understood. In this study, stable isotopic ratios of hydrogen(δ^(2)H) and oxygen(δ^(1.)O) in precipitation, soil water, groundwater, and xylem water were determined to document seasonal changes in water uptake by three representative plant species(Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv., Amygdalus pedunculata Pall., and Salix psammophila) in the northeastern Mu Us sandy land, Northwest China. Based on the depth distribution and temporal variation of measured gravimetric soil water content(SWC), the soil water profile of the three species stands was divided into active(0.01.g g^(-1.1., 20%1.1., CV 1.1., CV >45%) layers. Annually, P. sylvestris, A. pedunculata, and S. psammophila obtained most water from deep(59.2%±9.7%, moist layer and groundwater),intermediate(57.4%±9.8%, stable and moist layers), and shallow(54.4%±1..5%, active and stable layers) sources, respectively. Seasonally, the three plant species absorbed more than 60% of their total water uptake from the moist layer and groundwater in the early(June) dry season;then, they switched to the active and stable layers in the rainy season(July–September) for water resources(50.1.–62.5%). In the late(October–November) dry season, P. sylvestris(54.5%–66.2%) and A. pedunculata(52.9%–63.6%) mainly used water from stable and moist layers, whereas S. psammophila(52.6%–70.7%) still extracted water predominantly from active and stable layers. In order to quantify the influence of external forcings on the predictability limit using observational data,the author introduced an algorithm of the conditional nonlinear local Lyapunov exponent(CNLLE)*** effectiveness of this algorithm is validated and compared with the nonlinear local Lyapunov exponent(NLLE)and signal-to-noise ratio methods using a coupled Lorenz *** results show that the CNLLE method is able to capture the slow error growth constrained by external forcings,therefore,it can quantify the predictability limit induced by the external *** this basis,a preliminary attempt was made to apply this method to measure the influence of ENSO on the predictability limit for both atmospheric and oceanic variable *** spatial distribution of the predictability limit induced by ENSO is similar to that arising from the initial conditions calculated by the NLLE *** similarity supports ENSO as the major predictable signal for weather and climate *** addition,a ratio of predictability limit(RPL)calculated by the CNLLE method to that calculated by the NLLE method was *** RPL larger than 1.indicates that the external forcings can significantly benefit the long-term predictability *** instance,ENSO can effectively extend the predictability limit arising from the initial conditions of sea surface temperature over the tropical Indian Ocean by approximately four months,as well as the predictability limit of sea level pressure over the eastern and western Pacific ***,the impact of ENSO on the geopotential height predictability limit is primarily confined to the troposphere.

Local Torrential Rainfall Event within a Mei-Yu Season Mesoscale Convective System:Importance of Back-Building Processes

Toward a Direct Measurement of the Cosmic Acceleration:The Pilot Observation of HI 21.cm Absorption Line at FAST

This study presents results on detecting neutral atomic hydrogen(H I)21.cm absorption in the spectrum of PKS PKS1.1.+1. at redshift z=*** observation was conducted by FAST,with a spectral resolution of1. Hz,using 1. minutes of observing *** global spectral profile is examined by modeling the absorption line using a single Gaussian function with a resolution of 1. kHz within a 2 MHz *** goal is to determine the rate of the latest cosmic acceleration by directly measuring the redshift evolution of the H I 21.cm absorption line with Hubble flow toward a common background quasar over a decade or longer time *** will serve as a detectable signal generated by the accelerated expansion of the Universe at redshift z1.referred to as redshift drift z(5)or the SL *** measured H I gas column density in this DLA system is approximately equivalent to the initial observation value,considering uncertainties of the spin temperature of a spiral host *** high signal-to-noise ratio of 57,obtained at a 1. kHz resolution,strongly supports the feasibility of using the H I 21.cm absorption line in DLA systems to accurately measure the redshift drift rate at a precision level of around 1.~(-1.)per decade.

Realizing the purification and grain refinement of Mg-Gd-Y alloy by one-step flux refining

In the conventional melt preparation of magnesium rare-earth(Mg-RE)alloys,the repeated heating/cooling process involved in grain refinement and flux refining usually prolongs the preparation period and aggravates melt *** this work,the purification and grain refinement of Mg-9Gd-3Y(GW93)alloy was simultaneously realized by one-step refining at 740℃ by using a self-developed compound *** results show that,only after holding for 1. min,the inclusion content of the alloy is reduced by 81.to 0.29%,while the grain size is reduced by 84%to 1.9μm.A physical model depicting the interactions between compound flux and alloy melt was proposed based on thermodynamic calculation and microstructure *** grain refinement mechanism has been analyzed by considering the presence of Zr particle(Zr_(p))and Zr solute(Zr_(s)).In addition,the generated RECl_(3) was found to be readily absorbed by the flux,decreasing the surface tension and promoting the purification efficacy of the flux,which plays an important role in the promoted elongation of the as-cast Mg-9Gd-3Y-0.5Zr(GW93K)*** work presents a unique prospect in simplifying the melt preparation of Mg-RE alloy with a promoted quality.

In response to the rapid increase in world population and subsequent demands for food,edible insects represent an alternative food source for humans that is rich in proteins,amino acids and *** is a tradition in many countries including China and Thailand,and edible insects have attracted a lot of attention in Western World due to their suitable nutrient composition,high mineral content(e.g.,Fe,Zn,Ca,Mg)and potential use as a supplement in human *** this study,we surveyed mineral content in seven insect orders and 67 species of mass produced and wild-harvested edible *** total content of essential elements in edible insects was very high in Tenebrio molitor,Bombyx mori,and Zonocerus *** heavy metal content(summarized for eight species)was below the maximum limit allowed for safe *** supply of minerals derived from insect biomass is complicated due to the high variations of mineral content in insects and the potential of its change due to processing.
