摘      要:Background:Depression is a debilitating psychiatric disorder with a huge socioeconomic burden,and its treatment relies on ***,the melatonergic system has been implicated in the pathophysiology and treatment of *** this study,We observed the effects of melatonin(MT) on depression-like behavior induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) in rats,and its molecular mechanism was ***:Adult male Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were exposed to CUMS for 4 *** or saline were injected *** changes of SD rats was detected by open field test,sugar preference test,elevated O maze test and forced swimming *** addition,the plasma corticosterone level and the expression of endoplasmic reticulum stress-related protein in hippocampus of rats were ***:Compared with the control group,the CUMS-exposed SD rats showed depression-like behavior,which was significantly improved by MT ***,CUMS induced endoplasmic reticulum stress and JNK phosphorylation in *** treatment could significantly reverse the endoplasmic reticulum stress and JNK phosphorylation induced by *** results suggest that MT improves depression-like behavior by inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress induced by ***:This study demonstrates that MT can improve depression-like behavior induced by CUMS,which may be related to the inhibition of endoplasmic reticulum stress cascade in hippocampus.
