Overexpression of athaumatin-like protein gene fused with a prolinerich peptide enhanced disease resistance of Sclerotiniasclerotiorum and Botrytis cinerea in Arabidopsis

摘 要:In plants,pathogenesisrelatedproteins(PRs) play vital role in defenseresponse of various biotic and abiotic *** studies have showed the antifungal activity of the PR-5 protein(thaumatin-like proteins,TLPs).However,the molecularbasis of TLPs for resistance to necrotrophic fungal pathogens,mchidmgSclewtiniasclerotiorum and Botrytiscinerea,is still ***,we cloned a novel TLP gene in ***,which fused a PRP domain in its C termini,named *** on the collinear analysis across the well-defined phylogenetic analysis,we deduced origin of this fusion *** expression of BnTLP-PRPl in Arabidopsis led to significant enhanced tolerance to *** and B.c/flerazinfections,while the T-DNA mutant of the endogenous AtTLP-PRPl geneshowed more susceptible to both *** interestingly,both the TLP and PRP domain could contribute to the disease ***,the expression of numerous marker genes involved in salicylic acid(SA) and jasmonic acid(JA)/ethylene(ET) signaling pathways were dramatically *** together,these results indicate that the BnTLP-PRPl,an ancient fusion gene,regulates resistance to fungal pathogens by governing both SA and JA/ET-mediated defense signaling in Arabidopsis.
