Turn-on circularly polarized luminescence by amphiphilic Schiff bases

摘 要:Amphiphilic naphthalene-substituted Schiff bases containing a glutamide moiety were designed and utilized to selectively sense aluminum *** various metal ions were added into the ethanol solution of the amphiphilic Schiff bases,most ions did not change the luminescence property,Mg,Znand Alshowed enhancement of the emission of Schiff *** for Al,amphiphilic Schiff base exhibited a significant fluorescence enhancement at465nm due to the inhibition of the photo induced electron transfer(PET)and excited-state intramolecular proton transfer(ESIPT).The 1:1 binding stoichiometry between amphiphilic Schiff bases and Alwas corroborated by the Job’s plot and the ESI-MS *** the Schiff bases contained a chiral center,the metal complexes of Mg,Znand Alexhibited induced supramolecular chirality,which was characterized by the obvious negative Cotton effect in Circular Dichroism(CD)***,only the Alion coordinated Schiff base showed Circularly Polarized Luminescence(CPL),implying Alselectively turn-on CPL of amphiphilic Schiff *** work presents a simple way to fabricate chiral system emitting CPL based on aluminum ion coordination.
