摘      要:正A number of small molecules are endowed with attractive biological activities through their non-covalent binding to specific DNA. Many studies have indicated that jatrorrhizine 1 and berberine 2, two typical protober-berine alkaloids having a wide range of biological activities, can bind to DNA. Most recently, we have reported a remarkable enhancement of DNA binding affinity by bridging two berberines. This result, together with the structural similarity between jatrorrhizine and berberine, made us to postulate that jatrorrhizine dimers may be also
