摘      要:Two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) is a valuable tool for the separation and characterization of pro-teins from complex biological samples. One of the main limitations of 2-DE is its inability to visualize low-abundant proteins, particularly in the presence of highly abundant proteins. In plasma, a few high-abundantproteins, such as albumin, immunoglobulins, lipoproteins, fibrinogen, et al, accounts for approximately 90%of the total protein. As protein expression within plasma has such a large dynamic range, attempts to detect traceproteins by increasing the total amount of plasma loaded onto a 2-DE gel, means excessive amounts of predomi-
