摘 要：正’I have never hidden the fact that my own dilemmas and oddities emanate from those of my country,Scotland’.T Nairn In this paper I will investigate the factors that influenced the writing of an introductory project for first year fashion design students at Shih Chien University. I will examine the cultural,social and educational values that informed the content of the brief and the personal motivations that lay behind its construction. Also I will look at the period of post war Britain and America,a period that significantly influenced my creative expression.I will make a case for the value of collage and mark making as exemplified by the Expressionists as an apposite skill for fashion students to acquire.
