Spectroscopic and electrochemical studies of interaction between Azorubine and CT-DNA

摘 要:The interaction of native calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) with azorubine in 10 mM Tris-HCl aqueous solution at neutral pH 7.4 was monitored by UV-vis absorption and voltammetric techniques. Upon addition of the azorubine, UV absorption band of DNA decreased. After addition different concentrations of CT-DNA, UV absorption band of azorubine showed hyperchromisity. The binding constants (K b ) for the azorubine with DNA was estimated to be 6.2×104M-1 . Electrochemical interaction of azorubine with ctDNA showed decrease in both peak current and no detectable potential shift was observed. The experimental results suggest that azorubine binds to DNA via an outside binding mode.
