Tourist Satisfaction: Based on the China Market in Fiji

摘 要:Tourism in Fiji is the main economic distributer and the fastest growing industry. This isbecause of the influx in tourism growth. This trend is evident in the increase in tourists’arrivals on a yearly basis from all markets specifically the China Market. Since2009, theChina Market has continued to boost the tourism industry. For example, the tourist arrivalnumbers from the China Market has increased from2009to2013(Fiji Bureau of Statistics2013). Recent studies on the tourism industry focused on the characteristics of tourists whovisited Fiji. This study will observe the tourists’ satisfaction of the China Market with analysisof the demographic and travel behavior characteristics. The expectancy–disconfirmation theory provided a conceptual framework for the *** theory can be defined as a theory for measuring customer satisfaction from perceivedquality of products or services. The consumer compares the performance prior to theexpectations. Nadi Town, Fiji was the selected study area for this study. It is the main port of entry forall International Tourists as it is where the Nadi International Airport is located. Research wasconducted in the form of questionnaires handed out to the Chinese tourists on holiday in Fijiin December,2013. There were a total of300questionnaires handed out but there were only251that were able to be used. Therefore, the251respondents were analyzed. Appropriate statistical analyses were used according to the respective objectives anddescriptors. A list of25attractions that was used in this study resulted to four dimensions:General Attractions, Personal Attractions, Hotel Related Attractions and Cultural *** data were coded and with the use of SPSS, the variables were analyzed and thehypotheses were tested. According to the results of this study, there are several recommendations that could bemade to increase tourists’ satisfaction in Fiji.
