摘 要:Women began to practice martial skills in a rare atmosphere during the Six Dynasties Period (220-589). Women held high positions among matrilineal clan nationalities. When they came to tlie Central Plains for trade, they displayed their indomitable martial spirit. Some women of noble families mastered superb martial skills and even commanded troops in battles. The leading role of Hua Mulan in the Hollywood animated film Mulan was a famous real heroine in Chinese history. She lived during the Sui Dynasty (589-618). In those years, the tribes from the north often invaded the Central Plains, and the court sent troops to resist the invasions. Because her father was too old, Hua stealthily disguised herself as a young man, so as to join the army on her father s behalf.
