摘      要:Giant cell tumour of bone is common in adults between 21 and 40 but is rare in children. Its favorite site of occurrence is knee joint and trunk and it rarely occurs in phlanges. At early stage, it should be differentiated from enchondroma. Treatment of giant cell tumour of hand depends on its nature and site, which comprises curettage of the lesion supplemented by bone grafting. But recurrence is as high as 90%and in that circumstance amputation of the affected finger will have to be indicated. In one case of our group, the recurrence happened owing to inadequate eradication of the lesion and denoted a potential for malignancy. Resection of the whole affected phalanges was performed followed by rebuilding with autogenous graft of iliac bone. The epiphysis of iliac crest was substituted for the rebuilt phalange and its epiphysis. The patient was followed up for 4 years. X-ray film showed that the grafted bone had been almost shaped into normal phalanx with for mation of new epiphysis at the epiphyseal end of the grafted iliac bone. The rebuilt finger functions well. However, the rare occurrence of epiphyseal regenration calls for further discussion.
