摘 要:Catalytic oxidation is an energy efficient and economical way to get rid of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. Sungkono et al have developed a new type of catalyst for VOC treatment, which consists of catalytic substances dispersed on a porous alumina film, and the total oxidation of toluene was obtained at 350 ℃. Stainless steel has many applications in indsutry for its high anti-corrosion properties and compact oxide coating after anodizing. However, there is little relevant information published on VOC treatment. In this paper, we report a novel noble metal catalyst supported on stainless steel treated by anodic oxidation for VOC removal. The catalyst showed excellent activity for toluene combustion at the low temperature of 210 ℃ even after calcination at 1 000 ℃.
