We investigate the adsorption of organic molecular semiconductor perylene on(7×7)reconstructed Si(111)surface by ultraviolet photoemission *** is observed that seven features that derive from the organic material are located at 0.71,2.24,4.0,5.9,7.46,8.65 and 9.95 eV in binding *** theoretical calculation results reveal the most stable adsorption geometry of organic molecule perylene on Si(111)(7×7)substrates is at the beginning of deposition.

Recently,the family of rare-earth chalcohalides were proposed as candidate compounds to realize the Kitaev spin liquid(KSL)[***.38047502(2021)].In the present work,we firstly propose an effective spin Hamiltonian consistent with the symmetry group of the crystal *** we apply classical Monte Carlo simulations to preliminarily study the model and establish a phase *** approaching to the low temperature limit,several magnetic long range orders are observed,including the stripe,the zigzag,the antiferromagnetic(AFM),the ferromagnetic(FM),the incommensurate spiral(IS),the multi-Q,and the 120°*** further calculate the thermodynamic properties of the system,such as the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility and the heat *** ordering transition temperatures reflected in the two quantities agree with each *** most interaction regions,the system is magnetically more susceptible in the ab-plane than in the *** stripe phase is special,where the susceptibility is fairly isotropic in the whole temperature *** features provide useful information to understand the magnetic properties of related materials.

X/γ-rays have many potential applications in laboratory astrophysics and particle *** several methods have been proposed for generating electron,positron,and X/γ-photon beams with angular momentum(AM),the generation of ultra-intense brilliant γ-rays is still ***,we present an all-optical scheme to generate a high-energy γ-photon beam with large beam angular momentum(BAM),small divergence,and high *** the first stage,a circularly polarized laser pulse with intensity of 10^(22) W/cm^(2) irradiates a micro-channel target,drags out electrons from the channel wall,and accelerates them to high energies via the longitudinal electric *** the process,the laser transfers its spin angular momentum(SAM)to the electrons’orbital angular momentum(OAM).In the second stage,the drive pulse is reflected by the attached fan-foil and a vortex laser pulse is thus *** the third stage,the energetic electrons collide head-on with the reflected vortex pulse and transfer their AM to the γ-photons via nonlinear Compton ***-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations show that the peak brilliance of the γ-ray beam is∼10^(22) photons·s^(-1)·mm^(-2)·mrad^(-2) per 0.1% bandwidth at 1 MeV with a peak instantaneous power of 25 TW and averaged BAM of 10^(6)h/*** AM conversion efficiency from laser to the γ-photons is unprecedentedly 0.67%.

Dimuon events induced by charm-quark productions from neutrino deep inelastic scattering(DIS) processes have been studied in traditional DIS experiments for *** recent progress in neutrino telescopes makes it possible to search for such dimuon events at energies far beyond the laboratory *** this study,we construct a simulation framework to calculate yields and distributions of dimuon signals in an IceCube-like km3scale neutrino *** to the experimental limitation in the resolution of double-track lateral distance,only dimuons produced outside the detector volume are *** information about simulation results for a10-year exposure is *** an earlier paper [Physical Review D 105,093005(2022)] and ours report on a similar situation,we use that paper as a baseline to conduct *** then estimate the impacts of different calculation methods of muon energy ***,we study the experimental potential of dimuon searches under the hypothesis of single-muon background *** results based on a simplified double-track reconstruction indicate a moderate sensitivity,especially with the ORCA *** developments on both the reconstruction algorithm and possible detector designs are thus required and are under investigation.

Herein,we report on the guest-responsive hierarchical self-assembly of dissymmetric cage DC-1 with an intrinsic dipole along its C_(3)-symmetric ***-1 molecules self-assemble into supramolecular columns with themolecular dipoles aligned along the columnar *** by different host-guest interactions of ethyl acetate(EtOAc)and chloroform(CHCl_(3)),the columns are arranged in an antiparallel and parallel fashion,respectively,leading to a switch of the centrosym metric and noncentrosymmetric *** symmetry of themolecular packing of DC-1 molecules of the noncentrosymmetric crystalline phase is therefore broken,producing a supramolecular ferroelectric with second-harmonic generation and piezoelectric *** demonstrate that cages can serve as promising building blocks for the discovery of supramolecular materials with emergent functions and properties,including but not limited to,organic ferroelectrics and nonlinear optics.

Black widows(BWs)are millisecond pulsars ablating their companion *** out-flowing material from the companion can block the radio emission of the pulsar,resulting in *** this paper,we construct a model for the radio eclipse by calculating the geometry of the bow shock between the winds of the pulsar and companion,where the shock shapes the eclipsing medium but had not been described in detail in previous *** model is further used to explain the variations of the flux density and dispersion measure of three BW pulsars(i.e.,PSR B1957+20,J2055+3829,and J2051-0827)detected by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio ***,we constrained the parameters of the three BW systems such as the inclination angles and true anomalies of the observer as well as the mass-loss rates and wind velocity of the companion *** the help of these constraints,it is expected that magnetic fields of companion stars and even masses of pulsars could further be determined as some extra observation can be achieved in the future.

Neutral triple gauge couplings(nTGCs)are absent in the standard model effective theory up to dimension-6 operators,but could arise from dimension-8 effective *** this work,we study the pure gauge operators of dimension-8 that contribute to nTGCs and are independent of the dimension-8 operator involving the Higgs *** show that the pure gauge operators generate both ZγZ^*and Zγγ^*vertices with rapid energy dependence∝E^5,which can be probed sensitively via the reaction e^+e^-→Zγ.We demonstrate that measuring the nTGCs via the reaction e^+e^-→Zγfollowed by Z→qq decays can probe the new physics scales of dimension-8 pure gauge operators up to the range(1-5)TeV at the CEPC,FCC-ee and ILC colliders with s~(1/2)=(0.25-1)TeV,and up to the range(10-16)TeV at CLIC with s~(1/2)=(3-5)TeV,assuming in each case an integrated luminosity of 5 ab~(-1).We compare these sensitivities with the corresponding probes of the dimension-8 nTGC operators involving Higgs doublets and the dimension-8 fermionic contact operators that contribute to the e^+e^-Zγvertex.

Our scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) study observes, for the first time, twin domain boundary (TDB) formations on the surface of WTe2 single crystal, which is glued by solidifying indium to Si substrate. In these TDB regions, a large inhomogeneous strain field, especially a critical shear strain of about 7%, is observed by geometric phase analysis. This observation does not obey the old believe that a small mechanical stress is sufficient to drive thermally-induced TDB formations in two-dimensional materials. To resolve the contradiction, we perform density functional theory calculations combined with elasticity theory analysis, which show that TDBs on WTe2 are entirely displacement-induced, for which a critical strain is necessary to overcome the onset barrier.
