What's So Special about China's Producer Services?An Input–output Analysis

In the present study, five stylized facts about China ＂s producer services are established through international, intersectoral and intertemporal comparisons based on input --output tables. First, the overall service input ratio is the lowest in all the sample economies. Second, most producer services are supplied by the traditional labor-intensive sectors. Third, manufacturing is the biggest user of producer services, and service industry is the second, while the opposite is true for most of the other sample economies. Fourth, unlike other economies, China ＂s ＂R＆D＂ is characterized more by consumer services than producer services. Fifth, China has fairly lower service input ratios in almost all the industries. The backward and forward linkages coefficients are both smaller for ＂real estate activities＂ and ＂finance and insurance. ＂＂ Policy reform should focus not only on specific producer services but also on reducing obstacles that are inhibiting the balanced development of diverse producer services that will help China to optimize its economic structure.

This paper examines the impact of foreign penetration on the public firm in a mixed oligopolistic market. Through the establishment of a mixed double oligopoly market, this paper analyzes how the share of foreign investment affects the environmental policy, the pollutant emission, and the social welfare under the condition of the state tax. The results show that: first, the introduction of foreign investment has some crowding-out effects on the social level of output. Second, the entry of foreign investment increases the profit of the public firm by a large margin, and the maximum profit of the private firm has been reduced. Third, the increase of foreign investment in public firm does not necessarily improve the environment.

This paper adopts the tail-event driven network(TENET)framework to explore the connectedness and systemic risk of the banking industry along the Belt and Road(B&R)based on weekly returns of 377 publicly-listed banks from 2014 to *** conduct the connectedness analysis from four levels(i.e.,system,region,country and institution)and identify the systemic risk contribution of *** find that the dynamic total connectedness reached its peak during the outbreak of the abnormal fluctuations of Chinese stock market in 2015-2016 and its trough during the Brexit vote,and subsequently experienced several periodic fluctuations at a relatively high *** the B&R banking system,the intra-regional tail risk spillovers are remarkably stronger than the inter-regional tail risk spillovers during the post-crisis *** addition,the panel regressions estimated by the least squares dummy variable model show that the cross-border merger and acquisitions(M&As)and the merchandise trade export are important drivers for the tail-connectedness across the B&R *** study provides regulators with insightful implications on the systemic risk supervision of the B&R banking industry.

Study on International Development of Financial Asset Securitization:An Example of Mining Rights

Mining right asset securitization is a market financing pattern for mineral resources, and it is a creative application of financial asset securitization. Nowadays, because of world energy price decline, the world energy market is facing weak investment and financing sharply under pressure. Under this background, this paper aims at briefly commenting on the content, processes and impact of mining right asset securitization, understanding the international mining right asset securitization specific practices, and then combining the situation of China(Shanghai) Pilot Free trade Zone so as to give advice for the development of mining right asset securitization in China. For instance, mineral mining rights and expenses system design are not clear, so the mineral values do not reflect their true costs and the need to speed up market credit system construction.

This study investigates how taxes influence corporate investment behavior. based on a census of Chinese industrial enterprises, we utilize a tax-adjusted q model to examine the effects of taxes on corporate investment in fixed assets in China. Results show that the effective tax rate has a relatively small but significantly negative impact on Chinese firms＇ investment in fixed assets. We extend the tax-adjusted q model to control for the lagged investment effect and peer effect of investment. Models with these effects do better at explaining the impact of taxes on firms＇ investment. The lagged investment models present smaller but significant tax disincentive. Firms compete for investment with other firms both in the same region and in the same industry through peer effect. In addition, the tax disincentive differs among state owned enterprises, private enterprises, and other enterprises in China.
