Background: Obesity is currently considered a public health problem. Bariatric procedures have become an important part of obesity management and, consequently, the number of male patients seeking post-bariatric reconstructive procedures have increased. Therefore, the clinical approach and understanding of the body contour of this population have become more relevant. The goal of post-bariatric reconstruction is to enhance the male silhouette through removal of skin and adipose tissue excess, and abdominal rectus diastasis repair. Material and Methods: We conducted a retrospective study at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of the National Medical Center “20 de Noviembre”. All male patients referred to our department to start a post-bariatric reconstruction protocol from January 2018 to December 2022 were included in this study. Results: In total, 15 patients who underwent corporal contouring procedures were included;median age was 49.2 years with minimum of 33 years, and a maximum of 57 years. Median Body mass index was 28.4 kg/m2 with minimum of 22 kg/m2 and maximum of 38 kg/m2. All patients were treated 18 months after their bariatric surgery. All patients underwent an abdominoplasty as a body contouring procedure. 4 (26.7%) patients presented complications related to the surgery. Conclusion: We described a comprehensive and systematic approach to massive weight loss for male patients, suggesting an abdominal marking based on the patient’s clinical features and the expected results avoiding feminization of the abdominal body contour.

Background: Hemopathies were rarely observed in major sickle cell disease patients some thirty years ago, probably due to the high mortality rate among the latter as a result of progressive complications. Thanks to advances in the management of sickle cell disease, patients' life expectancy has increased considerably, exposing them more frequently to neoplasia, including hematological malignancies. The increased risk of leukemogenesis is multifactorial and linked to the pathophysiological mechanisms of the clinical manifestations of sickle cell disease. Study Setting: The clinical haematology department of campus teaching hospital and the paediatric onco-haematology unit of Sylvanus Olympio teaching hospital in Lomé were used as study settings. Observations: Four hematologic malignancies were collected in a cohort of 5847 major sickle cell syndromes. The median age of the patients was 31.25 years (extremes: 14 and 58 years) and they were predominantly female (sex ratio M/F = 0.25). Two were on background therapy with hydroxyurea. Among the four patients, there were two cases of acute lymphocytic leukemia, including ALL3 in a 58-year-old SS woman and T-ALL2 in a 12-year-old SC. Then, a case of lymphocytic lymphoma in a 20-year-old SS man was reported and finally a case of chronic myelocytic leukemia in a 33-year-old woman of Sβ+ thalassaemia phenotype. Conclusion: To further report this coexistence, it is therefore essential to systematically consider hematological malignancies during major sickle cell syndromes even if there are similarities in the symptomatology of these two serious pathological situations.

All patients were followed for more than five years. Survival was 76.6% and 64.7% at 5 and 10 years respectively. Eleven clinical and pathological factors were available for study. The data were analysed by Cox's proportional hazards regression model. A final set of five independent significant prognostic factors was obtained. In order of importance they were clinical stage age at diagnosis axillary lymph node status histologic type and size of the primary tumor. To test the time-varying effect of these factors using Cox's model all except age reduced their prognostic impact significantly after five years however age was a powerful prognostic factor for long-term survival. A prognostic index based on the regression coefficients was constructed. This index can give a better prediction for patients' survival and can be taken as reference when formulating treatment protocols for breast cancer.

The prognosis for cervical sarcoma botryoides is similar to that of other female genital tract embryonal rhabdomyosarcomas. Primary therapy should consist of vincristine and dactinomycin based chemotherapy. Surgery should be guided by the response to initial chemotherapy and should attempt to conserve the function of the bladder rectum vagina and ovaries. Radiotherapy was used for involved surgical margins or positive nodes. The effect of radiotherapy is unclear for stage Ia cases.

BACKGROUND： Gender differences have been reported in some common mental disorders. However, few studies have monitored gender differences in individuals with delirium. OBJECTIVE： To explore gender differences in challenging behaviors, management and outcomes in age-matched elderly patients with ***, TIME AND SETTING： A retrospective cohort study was performed in the Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, Sydney, Australia, from October 2008 to April 2009. METHODS： patients, aged 65-90 years, diagnosed with delirium according to the International Classification of Diseases （ICD）-10 in the Psychogeriatric Unit of Bankstown Lidcombe Hospital from January 2002 to October 2008 were reviewed. All the patients were measured according to the Confusion Assessment Method upon admission. Those who developed delirium during hospitalization were *** OUTCOME MEASURES： Cause of delirium, wandering, aggression, duration of delirium, physical restraint, use of antipsychotic medicine, recovery from delirium, discharge back home, length of stay, one-to-one nursing care, falls and absconding ***： The 131 age-matched delirious patients comprised 54 males and 77 females. The behavioral disorders of wandering [odds ration （OR） = 2.612, 95% confidence interval （CI） = 1.26 -5.413, P = 0.009] and aggression （OR = 2.243, 95% CI = 1.028 - 4.891, P= 0.04） were more frequent in males than in females. More males received one-to-one nursing care （OR = 4.114, 95% CI = 1.355 - 12.491, P = 0.008）, were more likely to receive antipsychotic medications （OR = 2.24, 95% CI = 1.095-4.583, P = 0.021） and more likely to be physically restrained （OR = 2.07, 95% CI = 1.02-1.02, P = 0.043） compared with female patients. All absconding patients （3/131, 2.3%） were male. All the diagnosis were confirmed by pathologic examination. There were 5485 cases (69.62%) of malignant tumors. Nearly an half of malignant tumors were in the nasopharynx (49.32%). Among the malignant tumors of the nasopharynx 2698 were carcinoma (99.34%) and only 18 (0.66%) sarcoma. Nine of them were under 10 years of age the youngest patient was 3 years old and this is rare in our county. The incidence of head and neck tumors was 37.66% and that of the head and neck malignancies was 26.22% of tumors in the whole body. This study indicates that incidence of malignant tumor in head and neck was rather higher it is worth to improve ths procedure of treatment and prevention.
