The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a serious threat to global mental *** lines of evidence suggest that there is a varying yet considerable increase in mental health issues among the general population and vulnerable groups.12 The aftermath is obscure and speculative from a social,economic,individual and public mental health *** published studies support the existence of an emotional epidemic curve,describing a high probability of an increase in the burden of mental health issues in the post-pandemic era.34 Furthermore,previous major public health emergencies showed that more than half of the population devel-oped mental health problems and required mental health intervention.45 There is,therefore,an urgent need to reorganise existing mental health services to address the current unmet needs for mental health and to prepare for future challenges in the postpandemic era in terms of prevention and management.

AIM: To study the trends of major causes of visual impairment(VI) in adults in Sichuan,China and evaluate the effect of aging on the trends. ·METHODS: We used data from the National Sample Survey on Disabilities(NSSD) in Sichuan province conducted in 1987 and 2006. The age-adjusted prevalence of major causes of VI and the prevalence stratified by age in each cause were calculated and compared. The association between age and each cause of VI was also analyzed.·RESULTS: Retinal disease increased and became the second leading cause of VI in 2006 while blinding trachoma decreased markedly. Cataract and non-trachomatous corneal diseases were among the leading causes of VI in both years. We found associations between age and causes of VI,with age showing the strongest association with cataract and relatively lower associations with other causes. · CONCLUSION: In the last two decades,dramatic changes occurred in the major causes of VI with significantly increased retinal disease and decreased blinding trachoma. Aging of the population might be an important factor accounting for the changed trends of VI. Understanding the prevalence of VI,its major causes and trends over time can assist in prioritizing and developing effective interventional strategies and monitoring their impact.

Background:Most of the previous researches indicated depression and anxiety were potential risk factors for suicide,and they were also highly ***,few studies have explored their combined effects on suicide and the dimensions which really ***:A total of 392 suicide cases aged 15-34 years were consecutively recruited,and 416 community controls of the same age range were *** the data were obtained using psychological autopsy from two informants for each of the targeted *** and anxiety were measured by Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD) and the Spielberger’s Trait-Anxiety Inventory(STAI)***:Scores of depression(15.53 vs 0.36) and anxiety(49.75 vs 42.05) among suicide cases were higher than those of the community controls,as well as their dimensions(All P1).Conclusions:For suicide risk assessment,combined effects of depression and anxiety should not be ***,the effects of anxiety dimension of depression and depression dimension of anxiety must be cautiously evaluated,avoiding overlapping inclusion.

Ventricular tachy-arrhythmias are the commonest cause of sudden cardiac death in patients with ischemic heart disease. It is estimated that up to 20% patients with acute myocardial infarction suffer from these arrhythmias. There is a growing need for developing tools for risk assessment for sudden cardiac death (SCD) in this population. Several ECG indices have been proposed for risk stratification and for prognostication after myocardial infarction (MI). These can divided broadly into those based on repolarization, conduction or both, as reviewed recently. Repolarization indices include QT interval, QT dispersion, T_(peak)-T_(end) interval, T_(peak)-T_(end)/QT ratio, JT_(peak)/JT, (T_(peak)-T_(end))/JT_(peak) and T_(peak)/JT ratios. Conduction indices include QRS duration and QRS dispersion. Conduction-repolarization indices are exemplified by index of Cardiac Electrophysiological Balance (iCEB: QT/QRS), and QRS-T angle, amongst others.

建立了固相萃取(SPE)/气相色谱质谱(GC/MS)联用检测灰尘中氯代多环芳烃(ClPAHs)的方法.以正己烷和二氯甲烷混合液为提取溶剂,索氏提取灰尘样品中的20种ClPAHs,活性硅胶层析柱与活性炭混合硅胶SPE柱协同净化.净化后的提取液采用GC/MS测定,SIM模式扫描,并用质谱特征离子定量分析.结果表明,填充量为0.2 g(W(活性炭)∶W(硅胶)=1∶40)的活性炭混合硅胶SPE小柱能有效地将ClPAHs分离出来,载样后采用反向溶剂洗脱,既提高了回收率又减少了洗脱剂甲苯的用量,净化效果好.处理灰尘样品后检测分析,20种ClPAHs的平均回收率稳定在60.4%—120.1%,相关系数>0.99,检出限为0.04—0.17 ng.g-1,相对标准偏差为1.6%—10.2%.本方法前处理简单,定性、定量准确可靠,可广泛应用于环境介质中氯代多环芳烃的检测.

Additive manufacturing(AM),a revolutionary production technique that will make many previously inconceivable innovations a reality,is transforming the manufacturing *** technologies behind AM have a generic character and possess immense and transformative potential that will be felt across different sectors of the *** paper studies how entrepreneurs can access,exploit,and diffuse this new disruptive knowledge,as well as the potential challenges that lie ***,we examine the magnitude of the knowledge pool created by the Top 10 countries in AM research from 2011 to 2016;specifically,we determine the leading countries,the pattern of organizational and international collaborations,leading disciplines contributing to AM,and the pattern in authors'*** find that the US is clearly the dominant country,while China witnessed a notable acceleration in AM research between 2014 and 2016;we also show that universities are the predominant actor in codified AM knowledge *** this information,we paint a vivid picture of the technological and market opportunities for entrepreneurs and identify the gaps in the current knowledge production environment;we find that the challenges currently faced by entrepreneurs could be overcome through academic entrepreneurship,collective entrepreneurship,and the actions of an entrepreneurial state.

Relationship between information technology functionalities and hospital-acquired injurious fall rates in US acute care hospitals

The purpose of this exploratory study was to determine health information technology functionalities in inpatient care units that were associated with reduced fall risk among adult patients aged 65 years or older in acute care hospitals in the United states. This study compared the differences in the hospital-acquired injurious fall rates for hospitals in California, Florida, and new york with and without fully implemented IT functionalities in their general medical and surgical inpatient units. It used publicly available 2007 datasets, the hospital was the unit of analysis, and teaching and non-teaching hospitals were analyzed separately. Hospital-acquired injurious falls were identified based on fall-related primary and secondary diagnoses and were flagged by the hospitals as not “present on admission” in the 2007 California, Florida, and new york state Inpatient Database data. The 4 health IT functionalities in general medical and surgical inpatient units were 1) electronic clinical documentation, 2) results viewing, 3) computerized provider order entry, and 4) decision support. The research question was What are the effective health IT functionalities in the general medical and surgical units for reducing fall risk among adult patients aged 65 years or older at their hospitals? Independent t tests were used. The results showed that no significant difference was found in the hospital-acquired injurious fall rates between hospitals with and without each of the 4 functionalities and between the teaching hospitals with and without each of the 4 functionalities. Significant differences were found in the injurious fall rates between non-teaching hospitals with and without electronic clinical documentation and result viewing. Future research may focus on assessing the clinicians’ use of the IT functionalities of electronic clinical documentation and results viewing, as well as the effect of the clinicians’ use patterns on patient outcomes.
