Post-disaster aid is widely regarded as important in helping local recovery and *** paper examines the effectiveness of post-disaster aid on exports,which are a driving factor of economic *** reports a natural experiment in china–the case of post-disaster aid following the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008–to examine how donors'experiences affected the exports of manufacturing firms in disaster-stricken *** export experience of the donor was *** coming from donors with more export experience was more beneficial to the exports of firms in recipient counties than aid from less experienced donors.“Learning from the donor”is a potential channel through which this effect *** is,firms in recipient counties learned from donors'export experience by exporting more products similar to those of donors,exporting more to the destination countries of donors,and participating in the donors'supply-chain networks by exporting more of the donors'***“learning from the donor”effects show that knowledge spillover can occur between spatially distant parties,which complements the literature.

The prominent performance of former US President Donald *** in the 2024 presidential election cycle ref lects the ongoing developments of the Trumpification of the Republican Party(GOP).Since Trump left office,the Trumpification of the GOP has *** terms of ideological shaping,Trumpification is ref lected in the fact that the political stance of the GOP is dominated by *** terms of personal influence,Trumpification is manifested by the overall acceptance of GOP elites and voters toward Trump's presidential candidacy,notwithstanding a decrease in their satisfaction with *** recent developments in Trumpification are intricately linked to Trump's influence on the GOP's political ecology,such as the formation of a new GOP coalition and the reshaping of GOP elite ***,these developments are also inf luenced by specific political factors,including the unique circumstances of the 2020 presidential election that led to Tr ump's“quasi-incumbent”status and the economic and immigration issues in the 2024 election that favor *** role Trump plays in the 2024 election and its outcome will be critical in determining whether the inf luence of Trumpification,especially Trump himself,will persist or undergo changes.

china's diplomatic discourse is a complicated system underpinned by divergent *** such,the concept of"Zhengque Yi Li Guan"(ZhèngquèYìLìGuān in Pinyin),like numerous other Chinese concepts,is not well *** could be due to the dearth of a uniform official translation and inconsistent ***,this paper seeks to draw awareness to this vital issue that has been neglected in the china-Africa diplomatic *** a way of filling this gap in the literature,the author argues that literal translation is not enough in diplomatic *** of Chinese classical works from texts and dictionaries were carried out to identify the equivalent English words for"Zhengque,""Yi,""Li,"and"Guan."Based on the scope of this paper,emphasis will be placed on"Yi"because it plays a critical role in the"ZhèngquèYìLìGuān"concept and has been the term with the most controversial *** paper uses the critical discourse analysis(CDA)method as its theoretical *** author contends that"justice"(meaning impartiality)is a preferable translation for"Yi"while"interests"is fit for"Li."The article also suggests that"Yi"should be reconceptualized using three approaches:the strategic partnership approach,the international approach,and the regional approach,to represent the realities of current china-Africa relations.

Antibiotic wastewater contains a variety of pollutant stressors that can induce and promote antibiotic resistance(AR)when released into the *** these substances are mostly in concentrations lower than those known to induce AR individually,it is possible that antibiotic wastewater discharge might still promote the AR transmission risk via additive or synergistic ***,the comprehensive effect of antibiotic wastewater on AR development has rarely been evaluated,and its treatment efficiency remains ***,samples were collected from different stages of a cephalosporin production wastewater treatment plant,and the potential AR induction effect of their chemical mixtures was explored through the exposure of the antibiotic-sensitive Escherichia coli K12 *** with raw cephalosporin production wastewater significantly promoted mutation rates(3.6×10^(3)-9.3×10^(3)-fold)and minimum inhibition concentrations(6.0-6.7-fold)of *** against ampicillin and *** may be attributed to the inhibition effect and oxidative stress of cephalosporin wastewater on *** AR induction effect of cephalosporin wastewater decreased after the coagulation sedimentation treatment and was completely removed after the full treatment process.A Pearson correlation analysis revealed that the reduction in the AR induction effect had a strong positive correlation with the removal of organics and biological *** indicates that the antibiotic wastewater treatment had a collaborative processing effect of conventional pollutants,toxicity,and the AR induction *** study illustrates the potential AR transmission risk of antibiotic wastewater and highlights the need for its adequate treatment.

Removing high-risk and persistent contaminants from water is challenging,because they typically exist at low concentrations in complex water *** flow-through technologies are viable to overcome the limitations induced by mass transport for efficient contaminant *** the local environment of the flow-through electrodes offers opportunities to further improve the reaction kinetics and selectivity for achieving near-complete removal of these contaminants from ***,we present state-of-the-art local environment modification approaches that can be incorporated into electrified flow-through technologies to intensify water *** first show methods of nanospace incorporation,local geometry adjustment,and microporous structure optimization that can induce spatial confinement,enhanced local electric field,and microperiodic vortex,respectively,for local environment *** then discuss why local environment modification can complement the flow-through electrodes for improving the reaction rate and ***,we outline appropriate scenarios of intensifying electrified flow-through technologies through local environment modification for fit-for-purpose water treatment applications.

After the decoupling of the US dollar from gold in 1971,US Treasuries replaced gold as the value benchmark of the international monetary system and acquired an exorbitant ***,the total amount of US debt exhibited an exponential expansion trend,unbound by any substantial *** so-called debt ceiling is a partisan game rather than a rigid fiscal constraint on the United *** long as there are no fundamental changes in the global monetary system,the international credit of US Treasuries will stay stable,and their trend of infinite expansion will be *** quantitative easing policies have failed to significantly shake this stability,and the notion of global investors offloading US Treasuries is more an illusion than a *** exorbitant privilege of US Treasuries grants its federal government the“freedom to borrow,”shielding the American financial sector from due penalties during global financial crises and securing excessive returns in global capital *** the old days when running“twin surpluses”on capital and current accounts,china kept the value of renminbi low to support its export manufacturing sector along the southeast *** a result,china accumulated huge foreign exchange reserves,mainly US ***,this practice is no longer necessary,yielding low returns and posing significant security risks.

This paper investigates whether changing the seating arrangement in a classroom can facilitate positive spillovers from top-performing students to others,using a field experiment conducted in a Chinese high *** study groups with balanced abilities,the treatment altered the spatial distribution by assigning the two top students to seats in the spatial center of each *** the reference groups where students were allowed to choose their own seating arrangements,the lowest performing were significantly less likely to sit next to a top student than they would be under a random *** results suggest that,in the treated groups,there could be enhanced academic spillovers from the top *** treatment especially benefited the two lowest performing students in science *** contrast,the treatment exerted negative effects on the test scores of the two middle-performing students,due to a disruption *** results suggest that the spatial layout of a peer network can have a significant impact on learning outcomes.

In a previous paper[***.A95,060701(R)(2017)],we demonstrated that a new type of two-body interaction,which depends on the center of mass(CoM)momentum,can be realized for ultracold atoms via laser-modulated magnetic Feshbach resonance(MFR).Further studies(e.g.L He et al,***.120,045302(2018))show that various interesting phenomena,such as Fulde–Ferrell superfluids,can be induced by scattering between ultracold atoms with this *** this work we investigate the shallow bound states of two ultracold atoms with this type of *** show that when the magnetic field B is below the MFR point B0,two shallow bound states can appear in this ***,a'two-component dimer'or a dimer with pseudo-spin 1/2 can be formed by two ***,the dispersion curve of the dimer may have either single or double minimums in the CoM momentum *** latter case can be explained as a result from significant pseudo-spin-orbital coupling(SOC)*** results show that the ultracold gases with CoM momentum dependent interaction may be a candidate for quantum simulations with ultracold two-component molecules,especially the molecule gases with SOC.
