Link-Privacy Preserving Graph Embedding Data Publication with Adversarial Learning

The inefficient utilization of ubiquitous graph data with combinatorial structures necessitates graph embedding methods,aiming at learning a continuous vector space for the graph,which is amenable to be adopted in traditional machine learning algorithms in favor of vector representations.Graph embedding methods build an important bridge between social network analysis and data analytics,as social networks naturally generate an unprecedented volume of graph data continuously.Publishing social network data not only brings benefit for public health,disaster response,commercial promotion,and many other applications,but also gives birth to threats that jeopardize each individual’s privacy and security.Unfortunately,most existing works in publishing social graph embedding data only focus on preserving social graph structure with less attention paid to the privacy issues inherited from social networks.To be specific,attackers can infer the presence of a sensitive relationship between two individuals by training a predictive model with the exposed social network embedding.In this paper,we propose a novel link-privacy preserved graph embedding framework using adversarial learning,which can reduce adversary’s prediction accuracy on sensitive links,while persevering sufficient non-sensitive information,such as graph topology and node attributes in graph embedding.Extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate the proposed framework using ground truth social network datasets.

Cryogenic superresolution correlative light and electron microscopy of vitreous sections

Fluorescence microscopy and electron microscopy complement each other as the former provides labelling and localisation of specific molecules and target structures while the latter possesses excellent revolving power of fine structure in context. These two techniques can combine as correlative light and electron microscopy(CLEM) to reveal the organisation of materials within the cell. Frozen hydrated sections allow microscopic observations of cellular components in situ in a near-native state and are compatible with superresolution fluorescence microscopy and electron tomography if sufficient hardware and software support is available and a well-designed protocol is followed. The development of superresolution fluorescence microscopy greatly increases the precision of fluorescence annotation of electron tomograms. Here, we provide detailed instructions on how to perform cryogenic superresolution CLEM on vitreous sections. From fluorescence-labelled cells to high pressure freezing, cryoultramicrotomy, cryogenic single-molecule localisation microscopy, cryogenic electron tomography and image registration, electron tomograms with features of interest highlighted by superresolution fluorescence signals are expected to be obtained.

Optimizing weighting functions for cryo-electron microscopy

The frequency-dependent signal to noise ratio of cryo-electron microscopy data varies dramatically with the frequency and with the type of the data. During different steps of data processing, data with distinct SNR are used for calculations. Thus, specific weighting function based on the particular SNR should be designed to optimize the corresponding calculation. Here, we deduced these weighting functions by maximizing the signal to noise ratio of cross correlated coefficients. Some of our weighting functions for refinement resemble that used in the existing software packages. However, weighting functions we deduced for motion correction, particle picking and the refinement with overlapping densities differ from those employed by existing programs. Our new weighting functions may improve the calculation in these steps.

Transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative games

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game theory.Channel balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

A new era of data access and management has begun with the use of cloud computing in the healthcare industry.Despite the efficiency and scalability that the cloud provides, the security of private patient data is still a majorconcern. Encryption, network security, and adherence to data protection laws are key to ensuring the confidentialityand integrity of healthcare data in the cloud. The computational overhead of encryption technologies could leadto delays in data access and processing rates. To address these challenges, we introduced the Enhanced ParallelMulti-Key Encryption Algorithm (EPM-KEA), aiming to bolster healthcare data security and facilitate the securestorage of critical patient records in the cloud. The data was gathered from two categories Authorization forHospital Admission (AIH) and Authorization for High Complexity Operations.We use Z-score normalization forpreprocessing. The primary goal of implementing encryption techniques is to secure and store massive amountsof data on the cloud. It is feasible that cloud storage alternatives for protecting healthcare data will become morewidely available if security issues can be successfully fixed. As a result of our analysis using specific parametersincluding Execution time (42%), Encryption time (45%), Decryption time (40%), Security level (97%), and Energyconsumption (53%), the system demonstrated favorable performance when compared to the traditional method.This suggests that by addressing these security concerns, there is the potential for broader accessibility to cloudstorage solutions for safeguarding healthcare data.

Binder-and conductive additive-free Ga2O3 nanowires as a self-healing anode for lithium storage

High-capacity anode materials have stimulated much attention to developing high-performance lithium-ion batteries. However, high-capacity anode materials commonly suffer from the pulverization matter that greatly hinders their practical applications, especially in terms of the high proportion of active materials. In this work, a Ga2O3nanowire electrode is synthesized by thermal evaporation and immediately used as an anode without the aid of binders and conductive additives. The 3D interconnected architecture of the Ga2O3nanowire electrode shortens lithium diffusion lengths and expedites reaction kinetics. The Ga2O3nanowires exhibit high elasticity and a self-healing ability which is inherited from metallic Ga formed during the electrochemical transition process, thus circumventing the formidable pulverization issue to a certain extent. Benefiting from the unique structural, mechanical, and chemical attributes, the as-grown Ga2O3nanowire electrode gives a high initial lithiation capacity of 1462 m Ah g-1under a current density of 0.1 A g-1. It delivers good cyclic stability with a reversible capacity of 445 m Ah g-1after 200 cycles at 0.5 A g-1. Furthermore, the investigation of lithium storage behaviors indicates the high rate capability of Ga2O3nanowires. This paper contributes to understanding binderand conductive additive-free electrodes consisting of high-capacity active materials from various viewpoints.

IoTDQ: An Industrial IoT Data Analysis Library for Apache IoTDB

There is a growing demand for time series data analysis in industry areas.Apache loTDB is a time series database designed for the Internet of Things(loT)with enhanced storage and I/O performance.With User-Defined Functions(UDF)provided,computation for time series can be executed on Apache loTDB directly.To satisfy most of the common requirements in industrial time series analysis,we create a UDF library,loTDQ,on Apache loTDB.This library integrates stream computation functions on data quality analysis,data profiling,anomaly detection,data repairing,etc.loTDQ enables users to conduct a wide range of analyses,such as monitoring,error diagnosis,equipment reliability analysis.It provides a framework for users to examine loT time series with data quality problems.Experiments show that loTDQ keeps the same level of performance compared to mainstream alternatives,and shortens I/O consumption for Apache loTDB users.

Phase-modulated quantum-sized TMDs for extreme saturable absorption

Two-dimensional semiconductors such as transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)have attracted much interest in the past decade.Herein,we present an all-physical top-down method for the scalable production of the intrinsic TMD quantum sheets(QSs).The phases of the TMDs(e.g.,2H-MoSe_(2),2H-WSe_(2),and Td-WTe2)remain stable during the transformation from bulk to QSs.However,phase transition(from Td to 2H)is detected in MoTe2.Such phase-modulation by size-reduction has never been reported before.The TMD QSs can be well dispersed in solvents,resulting in remarkable photoluminescence with excitation wavelength-,concentration-,and solvent-dependence.Meanwhile,the TMD QSs can be readily solution-processed into hybrid thin films,which demonstrate exceptional nonlinear saturation absorption(NSA).Notably,2H-MoTe2 QSs in poly(methyl methacrylate)show extremely high NSA performance with(absolute)modulation depth up to 46.6%and saturation intensity down to 0.81 MW·cm^(−2).Our work paves the way towards quantum-sized TMDs.

Towards Verified software:Mirror Theory of Programming

A program,when being executed,acts like a mirror that produces mirror images for objects in front of it.A mirror distinguishes itself from others by the way how it changes the shape of an object.A program can be characterized by the way how the final values of variables(the mirror images) are related to the initial values of variables(the objects).Axioms that specify relationships between final values and initial values of variables in a program are proposed.The logic to be discussed in this paper serves to prove and to deduce properties based on given axioms.Both the axioms and the logic belong to a theory,namely the mirror theory of programming,in which a program appears as an operation expression set.It is a step forward towards verified software.
