Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a severe common postoperative complication of cardiac surgery (CS). It increases the risk of mortality by up to 80%. Therefore, it is essential to have preoperative risk evaluation tools. Frailty is a marker of deterioration of physiologic systems and may be associated with AKI. purpose: The study aimed to determine the utility of frailty as a predictor of AKI after CS. Method: We enrolled 91 patients undergoing CS with cardiopulmonary bypass to determine if they had frailty before surgery and were associated with postoperative AKI. The diagnosis of postoperative AKI was based on the serum creatinine criteria of the Acute Kidney Injury Network classification up to 7 days following CS. Results: The incidence of postoperative AKI was 62% in the frail group and 21% in the non-frail group. Frailty was associated with a higher risk of AKI (relative risk [RR] = 3.00, 95% CI 1.56 - 5.77, p = 0.00). In regression models, there were associations between frailty and postoperative AKI. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that frailty could be a predictor for post-CS AKI. Therefore, frailty assessment should become an essential part of the preoperative evaluation to help the anesthesiologist to estimate the surgical risk and develop preoperative and transoperative strategies to preserve the renal function and improve the cardiac surgery outcome.

In power system studies, congestion in trans- mission lines and utilization of flexible alternating current transmission system （FACTS） devices are closely associated. These devices are very important due to their role in power delivery system enhancement. It is to be noted that the generation companies can exercise their market power which depends on the line flows, line constraints, generators＇ location and its share to the individual loads. This issue cannot be overlooked as it creates monopoliness which is against the deregulated market policy. The objective of this paper is to study the impact of market power when FACTS devices like thyristor controlled switching capacitor （TCSC） and thyristor controlled phase angle regulator （TCpAR） are used under steady state operation. The market power is determined using nodal must-run share （NMRS） index for the standard ieee 14- bus system with and without the above FACTS devices and the results obtained are compared. All the above simula- tions are conducted in a MATLAB 7.9-R2009b environment.

permissionless blockchain,as a kind of distributed ledger,has gained considerable attention because of its openness,transparency,decentralization,and ***,permissionless blockchain has shown a good application prospect in many fields,from the initial cryptocurrency to the Internet of Things(IoT)and Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networking(VANET),which is considered as the beginning of rewriting our digital ***,blockchain confronts some privacy risks that hinder its practical *** numerous surveys reviewed the privacy preservation in blockchain,they failed to reveal the latest advances,nor have they been able to conduct a unified standard comprehensive classification of the privacy protection of permissionless ***,in this paper,we analyze the specific characteristics of permissionless blockchain,summarize the potential privacy threats,and investigate the unique privacy requirements of *** privacy preservation technologies are carefully surveyed and evaluated based on our proposed evaluation *** finally figure out open research issues as well as future research directions from the perspective of privacy issues.

Vehicular networks have traditionally been used in specific scenarios, such as Electronic Toll Collection （ETC）. New vehicular networks, however, support communication of safety information between vehicles using self-organized ad-hoc technology. Because of limitations in network architecture, current vehicular networks only provide communication for mobile terminals in a vehicle cluster. Vehicles cannot exchange information with an Intelligent Traffic System （ITS） control center nor can they access broadband wireless networks. This paper proposes a novel heterogeneous vehicular wireless architecture based on Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment （WAVE, ieee 802.1 lp） and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access （WiMAX, ieee 802.16e）. A new network infrastructure and system model is introduced, and key technologies are discussed. For WAVE, these technologies include adaptive multichannel coordination mechanism and scheduling algorithm; and for WiMAX, these technologies include group handover scheme and two-level resource allocation algorithm.
