In the problem of maximizing regularized two-stage submodular functions in streams, we assemble a family ■ of m functions each of which is submodular and is visited in a streaming style that an element is visited for only once. The aim is to choose a subset S of size at most ■ from the element stream ■, so as to maximize the average maximum value of these functions restricted on S with a regularized modular term. The problem can be formally cast as ■, where c:■ is a non-negative modular function and ■ is a non-negative monotone non-decreasing submodular function. The well-studied regularized problem of ■ is exactly a special case of the above regularized two-stage submodular maximization by setting m=1 and ■=k. Although f(·)-c(·) is submodular, it is potentially negative and non-monotone and admits no constant multiplicative factor approximation. Therefore, we adopt a slightly weaker notion of approximation which constructs S such that f(S)-c(S)≥ρ·f(O)-c(O) holds against optimum solution O for some ρ∈(0, 1). Eventually, we devise a streaming algorithm by employing the distorted threshold technique, achieving a weaker approximation ratio with ρ=0.2996 for the discussed regularized two-stage model.

Disentangling facial expressions from other disturbing facial attributes in face images is an essential topic for facial expression *** methods only care about facial expression disentanglement(FED)itself,ignoring the negative effects of other facial *** to the annotations on limited facial attributes,it is difficult for existing FED solutions to disentangle all disturbance from the input *** solve this issue,we propose an expression complementary disentanglement network(ECDNet).ECDNet proposes to finish the FED task during a face reconstruction process,so as to address all facial attributes during *** from traditional reconstruction models,ECDNet reconstructs face images by progressively generating and combining facial appearance and matching *** designs the expression incentive(eie) and expression inhibition(EIN) mechanisms,inducing the model to characterize the disentangled expression and complementary parts *** geometry and appearance,generated in the reconstructed process,are dealt with to represent facial expressions and complementary parts,*** combination of distinctive reconstruction model,eie,and EIN mechanisms ensures the completeness and exactness of the FED *** results on RAF-DB,AffectNet,and CAER-S datasets have proven the effectiveness and superiority of ECDNet.

Debye-screening effects on the electron-impact excitation(eie)processes for the dipole-allowed transition 1 s_(2)^(1)S→1 s2 p^(1)P in He-like Al^(11+)and Fe^(24+)ions are investigated using the fully relativistic distorted-wave methods with the Debye-Huckel(DH)model ***-screening effects on the continuum-bound(CB)interaction and target ion are discussed,both of which result in reduction of eie cross *** reduction due to screening on the CB interaction is *** non-spherical and spherical DH potentials are adopted for considering the screening effect on the CB *** is found that the spherical DH potential could significantly overestimate the influence of plasma screening on eie cross sections for multielectron He-like ions.

The electron impact excitation(eie) cross sections of an atom/ion in the whole energy region are needed in many research fields, such as astrophysics studies, inertial confinement fusion researches and so on. In the present work, an effective method to calculate the eie cross sections of an atom/ion in the whole energy region is presented. We use the eie cross sections of helium as an illustration example. The optical forbidden 1^(1)S–n^(1)S(n = 2–4) and optical allowed 1^(1)S–n^(1)P(n = 2–4) excitation cross sections are calculated in the whole energy region using the scheme that combines the partial wave R-matrix method and the first Born approximation. The calculated cross sections are in good agreement with the available experimental measurements. Based on these accurate cross sections of our calculation, we find that the ratios between the accurate cross sections and Born cross sections are nearly the same for different excitation final states in the same channel. According to this interesting property, a universal correction function is proposed and given to calculate the accurate eie cross sections with the same computational efforts of the widely used Born cross sections,which should be very useful in the related application fields.
