Students'demand for online learning has exploded during the post-COvID-19 pandemic ***,due to their poor learning experience,students'dropout rate and learning performance of online learning are not always *** technical advantages of Beyond Fifth Generation(B5G)can guarantee a good multimedia Quality of Experience(QoE).As a special case of multimedia services,online learning takes into account both the usability of the service and the cognitive development of the *** that affect the Quality of Online Learning Experience(OL-QoE)become more *** get over this dilemma,we propose a systematic scheme by integrating big data,Machine Learning(ML)technologies,and educational psychology ***,we first formulate a general definition of OL-QoE by data analysis and experimental *** formula considers both the subjective and objective factors(i.e.,video watching ratio and test scores)that most affect ***,we induce an extended layer to the classic Broad Learning System(BLS)to construct an Extended Broad Learning System(EBLS)for the students'OL-QoE *** the extended layer can increase the width of the BLS model and reduce the redundant nodes of BLS,the proposed EBLS can achieve a trade-off between the prediction accuracy and computation ***,we provide a series of early intervention suggestions for different types of students according to their predicted OL-QoE *** timely interventions,their OL-QoE and learning performance can be *** results verify the effectiveness oftheproposed scheme.

In modern science and engineering disciplines,data-driven discovery methods play a fundamental role in system modeling,as data serve as the external representations of the intrinsic mechanisms within ***,empirical data contaminated by process and measurement noise remain a significant obstacle for this type of *** this study,we have developed a data-driven method capable of directly uncovering linear dynamical systems from noisy *** method combines the Kalman smoothing and sparse Bayesian learning to decouple process and measurement noise under the expectation-maximization framework,presenting an analytical method for alternate state estimation and system ***,the discovered model explicitly characterizes the probability distribution of process and measurement noise,as they are essential for filtering,smoothing,and stochastic *** have successfully applied the proposed algorithm to several simulation *** results demonstrate its potential to enable linear dynamical system discovery in practical applications where noise-free data are intractable to capture.

Simple real-time high-sensitivity heterodyne coherent optical transceiver at intraplane satellite communication

In this paper,we demonstrate a high-sensitivity and real-time heterodyne coherent optical transceiver for intraplane satellite communication,without digital-to-analog converter(DAC)devices and an optical phase lock loop(OPLL).Based on the scheme,a real-time sensitivity of-49 dBm is achieved at 5 Gbps *** DAC is not needed at the transmitter,as well as OPLL at the receiver,this reduces the system ***,the least required Rx ADC bit-width is also *** theoretical analysis and experimental results,our cost-effective transceiver satisfies the scenario and could be a promising component for future application.

Programmable photonic RF filters based on an integrated Fabry-Pérot laser with a saturable absorber

We propose and experimentally demonstrate the programmable photonic radio frequency(RF)filters based on an integrated Fabry-Pérot laser with a saturable absorber(FP-SA).Owing to the high output power and the relative flatness spectrum of the FP-SA laser,only a waveshaper and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA)were needed,which can greatly reduce the complexity of the *** sinc filter employed 87 taps,representing a record-high tap number and resulting in a 3-d B bandwidth of 0.27 GHz and a quality factor of ***,Gaussian apodization enabled the out-of-band rejection of the filter to reach 34 d B and the center frequency to be finely tuned over a wide range,spanning from 4 to 14 *** results indicate that the proposed scheme could provide a promising guideline for the photonic RF filters that demand both high reconfigurability and greatly reduced size and complexity.

Robust textile-based spoof plasmonic frequency scanning antenna for on-body IoT applications

Securing a comfortable, wearable compact frequency beam scanning antenna(FBSA) with robustness to deformation, low specific absorption rate(SAR), and good coverage of the surrounding environment for Internet of Things(IoT) applications, such as on-body navigation and wireless communication is an emerging challenge. In this work, a robust textile-based spoof plasmonic frequency scanning antenna utilizing higher-order modes is presented, which is also robust to deformation caused by the activities of the human body. The innovative design of the element ensures the high-efficiency transmission of the fundamental mode of spoof surface plasmon polaritons(SSPP) structure, providing the potential of being a multifunctional composite device in the compact on-body network. Besides, an artificial magnetic conductor(AMC) is designed underneath the SSPP structure, obtaining a low SAR value(0.113 W/kg), which ensures the safety of users. As a practical realization of this concept, a textile-based spoof plasmonic antenna was fabricated in the microwave regime and the performed experimental results show the proposed antenna has a single-beam radiation characteristic with a 70° beam scanning angle range when the frequency is 4.7–6.0 GHz with a high average realized gain of 13.15 dBi. And it still maintains a steady performance when faced with structure deformation, which proves its robustness. Wireless communication quality experiments are performed to demonstrate the proposed antenna can measure the angles of targets and realize wireless signal transmission to specific targets as the frequency varies, it may find great potential in the field of on-body IoT applications.

The digital twin is the concept of transcending reality,which is the reverse feedback from the real physical space to the virtual digital *** hold great prospects for this emerging *** order to realize the upgrading of the digital twin industrial chain,it is urgent to introduce more modalities,such as vision,haptics,hearing and smell,into the virtual digital space,which assists physical entities and virtual objects in creating a closer ***,perceptual understanding and object recognition have become an urgent hot topic in the digital *** surface material classification schemes often achieve recognition through machine learning or deep learning in a single modality,ignoring the complementarity between multiple *** order to overcome this dilemma,we propose a multimodal fusion network in our article that combines two modalities,visual and haptic,for surface material *** the one hand,the network makes full use of the potential correlations between multiple modalities to deeply mine the modal semantics and complete the data *** the other hand,the network is extensible and can be used as a universal architecture to include more *** show that the constructed multimodal fusion network can achieve 99.42%classification accuracy while reducing complexity.

Deep Learning based Efficient Edge Slicing for System Cost Minimization in Wireless Networks

It is widely recognized that the future wireless networks are able to efficiently slice heterogeneous resources to provide customized services for various use cases. However, it is challenging to meet the diverse requirements of ever-growing applications, especially the stringent requirements of numerous delay-sensitive and/or computation-intensive applications. To tackle this challenge, we should not only consider user admission control to cope with resource limitations, but also make resource management more intelligent and flexible to meet diverse service needs. Taking advantages of mobile edge computing(MEC)and network slicing, in this paper, we propose deep edge slicing(DES),to jointly optimize user admission control and resource scheduling with the aim of minimizing the system cost while guaranteeing multitudinous quality-of-service (QoS) requirements. Specifically, we first apply a deep reinforcement learning approach to select the optimal set of access users with different service requests for maximizing resource *** a deep learning algorithm is employed to predict traffic data for allocating the communication and computing resources to different slices in advance. Finally, we realize the dynamic scheduling of heterogeneous resources by solving the optimization problem of minimizing the system cost. Simulation results demonstrate that DES can greatly reduce the system cost compared to other benchmarks.

In this paper,considering the cost of base station,coverage,call quality,and other practical factors,a multi-objective optimal site planning scheme is ***,based on practical needs,mathematical modeling methods were used to establish mathematical expressions for the three sub-objectives of cost objectives,coverage objectives,and quality ***,a multi-objective optimization model was established by combining threshold and traffic volume *** order to reduce the time complexity of optimization,a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(NSGA)is used to solve the multi-objective optimization problem of site ***,a strategy for clustering and optimizing weak coverage areas was *** order to avoid redundant neighborhood retrieval during cluster expansion,the Fast Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise(FDBSCAN)clustering method was *** different sub-objectives as the main objectives,this paper obtained the distribution map of weak coverage areas before and after the establishment of new base stations,as well as relevant site planning maps,and provided three planning schemes for different main *** simulation results show that the traffic coverage of the three station planning schemes is above 90%.The change in the main optimization objective will result in a significant difference between the cost of the three solutions and the coverage of weak coverage points.
