The coupling between guided optical waves in magneto-optic fiber Bragg gratings （MFBGs） with linear birefringence is investigated using the eigen-mode and coupled-mode approaches. The relationship between the polarization-dependent loss （PDL） and the eigen states of polarization （SOPs） in the MFBGs is discussed. Only the MFBCs with low linear birefringence are applied to the peak PDL-based magnetic field measurement, after which the linear dynamic range is determined using the relative magnitude of linear and magnetically induced circular birefringence. In this letter, a theoretical model is presented to explain the experimental results and help develop novel MFBG-based devices.

The rapid development of 5G/6G and AI enables an environment of Internet of Everything(IoE)which can support millions of connected mobile devices and applications to operate smoothly at high speed and low ***,these massive devices will lead to explosive traffic growth,which in turn cause great burden for the data transmission and content *** challenge can be eased by sinking some critical content from cloud to *** this case,how to determine the critical content,where to sink and how to access the content correctly and efficiently become new *** work focuses on establishing a highly efficient content delivery framework in the IoE *** particular,the IoE environment is re-constructed as an end-edge-cloud collaborative system,in which the concept of digital twin is applied to promote the *** on the digital asset obtained by digital twin from end users,a content popularity prediction scheme is firstly proposed to decide the critical content by using the Temporal Pattern Attention(TPA)enabled Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)***,the prediction results are input for the proposed caching scheme to decide where to sink the critical content by using the Reinforce Learning(RL)***,a collaborative routing scheme is proposed to determine the way to access the content with the objective of minimizing *** experimental results indicate that the proposed schemes outperform the state-of-the-art benchmarks in terms of the caching hit rate,the average throughput,the successful content delivery rate and the average routing overhead.

In order to avoid environmental pollution from Coal gangue （CG） and copper tailings （CT）, the utilization as cement clinker calcinations was experimentally investigated. Low-calcium limestone was also selected as another raw material. The clinker component and microstructure were analyzed by XRD and SEM. The experimental results showed that qualified cement clinker could be generated by substituting CG and CT compound for clay. While mixed with high-calcium limestone and low-calcium limestone, the calcinations temperature were 50 ℃ or 100 ℃ lower than that of clay. CT and CG contain oxygen-rich minerals and potential of geological rock energy. The energy of CG performs functions and drops down sintering temperature. The calcination time was shortened and the clinker sintering coal consumption reduced while substituting CG and CT for clay, and also served the reutilization of low-calcium limestone, CG and CT.

In current network-on-chip (NOC) studies and in practical applications, the mesh structure is the most widely used and deeply researched structure. However, the hypercube structure is more symmetrical and regular than the mesh or torus structures. This paper compares the network characteristics of these three direct topologies and proposes a method to compress the hypercube into a plane structure. This structure, which has the multidimensional property based on the hypercube, is called the multidimensional plane (MDP) NOC. The compression process is divided into two steps: the transformation of router denotations and the connection of channels. Then, SystemC is used to implement the MDP NOC and it is compared with the mesh and torus NOCs in terms of four aspects of performance, including average latency time, normalization throughput, energy consumption and area cost.

We propose a 40-Gb/s star 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation （16-QAM） transmitter using a single dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator （DDMZM）. This transmitter is demonstrated through experiment and simulation and shows the advantage of simplicity for implementation. Simulation results indicate that error free performance could be achieved for the generated signal after 80-km standard single-mode fiber （SSMF） transmission with coherent detection scheme.

We propose and demonstrate a simple configuration of wavelength-tunable fiber laser made up of a tunable band-pass filter, a Sagnac loop refiector, and a Fabry-Perot laser diode. Based on the self-seeded operation, the proposed fiber laser can obtain a single-longitudinal-mode output in the wavelength tuning range of 1544.69–1563.39 nm with tuning step of 1.34 nm. The performances of output power （-9 dBm）, optical side-mode suppression ratio （ 65.5 dB）, and power and wavelength stabilities are well exhibited.

WDM passive optical network becomes more favorable as the required bandwidth increases, but currently few media access control algorithms adapted to WDM acc ess network. This paper presented a new scheduling algorithm for bandwidth shari ng in WDM passive optical networks, which provides per-flow delay guarantee and supports variable-length packets scheduling. Through theoretical analysis and simulation, the end-to-end delay bound and throughput fairness of the algori thm was demonstrated.

Plagiarism source retrieval is the core task of plagiarism detection. It has become the standard for plagiarism detection to use the queries extracted from suspicious documents to retrieve the plagiarism sources. Generating queries from a suspicious document is one of the most important steps in plagiarism source retrieval. Heuristic-based query generation methods are widely used in the current research. Each heuristic-based method has its own advantages, and no one statistically outperforms the others on all suspicious document segments when generating queries for source retrieval. Further improvements on heuristic methods for source retrieval rely mainly on the experience of experts. This leads to difficulties in putting forward new heuristic methods that can overcome the shortcomings of the existing ones. This paper paves the way for a new statistical machine learning approach to select the best queries from the candidates. The statistical machine learning approach to query generation for source retrieval is formulated as a ranking framework. Specifically, it aims to achieve the optimal source retrieval performance for each suspicious document segment. The proposed method exploits learning to rank to generate queries from the candidates. To our knowledge, our work is the first research to apply machine learning methods to resolve the problem of query generation for source retrieval. To solve the essential problem of an absence of training data for learning to rank, the building of training samples for source retrieval is also conducted. We rigorously evaluate various aspects of the proposed method on the publicly available PAN source retrieval corpus. With respect to the established baselines, the experimental results show that applying our proposed query generation method based on machine learning yields statistically significant improvements over baselines in source retrieval effectiveness.

Spectral Efficiency of Superimposed Pilots in Cell-Free Massive MIMO Systems with Hardware Impairments

In this paper,the spectral efficiency(SE)of an uplink hardware-constrained cell-free massive multi-input multi-output(MIMO)system with maximal ratio combining(MRC)receiver filters in the context of superimposed pilots(SPs)is *** closed-form SE expressions for the considered system are derived,which share us with opportunities to explore the impacts of the hardware quality coefficient,the length of coherence interval,and the power balance factor between pilot and data *** results indicate that the achievable SE deteriorates as the hardware quality decreases and is more susceptible to the hardware impairments at the user equipments(UEs).Besides,we observe that SPs outperform regular pilots(RPs)in terms of SE and this performance gain is heavily dependent on the values of power balance factor and coherence ***,the superiorities of SPs over RPs have vanished when severe hardware imperfections are considered.
