Degradation of malathion by Pseudomonas during activated sludge treatment system using principal component analysis (PCA)

Popular descriptive multivariate statistical method currently employed is the principal component analyses （PCA） method. PCA is used to develop linear combinations that successively maximize the total variance of a sample where there is no known group structure. This study aimed at demonstrating the performance evaluation of pilot activated sludge treatment system by inoculating a strain of Pseudomonas capable of degrading malathion which was isolated by enrichment technique. An intensive analytical program was followed for evaluating the efficiency of biosimulator by maintaining the dissolved oxygen （DO） concentration at 4.0 mg/L. Analyses by high performance liquid chromatographic technique revealed that 90% of malathion removal was achieved within 29 h of treatment whereas COD got reduced considerably during the treatment process and mean removal efficiency was found to be 78%. The mean pH values increased gradually during the treatment process ranging from 7.36-8.54. Similarly the mean ammonia-nitrogen （NH3-N） values were found to be fluctuating between 19.425-28.488 mg/L, mean nitrite-nitrogen （NO3-N） ranging between 1.301- 2.940 mg/L and mean nitrate-nitrogen （NO3-N） ranging between 0.0071-0.0711 mg/L. The study revealed that inoculation of bacterial culture under laboratory conditions could be used in bioremediation of environmental pollution caused by xenobiotics. The PCA analyses showed that pH, COD, organic load and total malathion concentration were highly correlated and emerged as the variables controlling the first component, whereas dissolved oxygen, NO3-N and NH3-N governed the second component. The third component repeated the trend exhibited by the first two components.

As one of the key concepts of Xi Jinping’s Theory,“A Community with Shared Future for Man-kind”(CSFM hereafter) caters for the need of the epoch. Hence,how to build a CSFM has become an important theoretical and practical issue urgently needed to be considered and demonstrated in academic circles. This paper,from the perspectives of philosophical rationale,cultural confidence,ecological civilization and the mode of cultural transmis-sion,probes into the fact that the concept of CSFM has surmounted the cultural barrier and is one of the elements of consensus in cross - cultural transmission,which demonstrates that CSFM is the key to making cultural transmission successful and highlights the overall concern for humankind.

Purpose: Despite many scientific advances, Regenerative Medicine is still in the preclinical stages in many areas. In this article, we intend to discuss the role of microsurgery in the bench-to-bedside transition of such primary findings. Method: By searching the papers related to the history of Regenerative Medicine (RM) and the news of Tissue Engineering (TE) in orthopedics in Pubmed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases, we accessed a complete archive of various topics related to this field. Result: We first assessed the history and achievements of regenerative medicine, then we realized the importance of translational medical sciences and the role of animal models in this incipient phenomenon. Finally, after mastering the capabilities of microsurgery and the useful contribution of this technique to the advancement of clinical applications of regenerative medicine in various branches such as skin, skeletal system, nerves, and blood vessels, we decided to express the gist of our studies through this article. Conclusion: Considering the widespread use of small animals in regenerative medicine projects and the inevitable role of microsurgery in performing the best intervention on these animal models, the significant progress of regenerative medicine clinical application requires special attention to microsurgery in associated research.

Background:Acute diarrhea is a global health problem,resulting in high morbidity and mortality in *** has been suggested that enteric pathogen co-infections play an important role in gastroenteritis,but most research efforts have only focused on a small range of species belonging to a few pathogen *** study aimed to assess the impact of co-infections with a broad range of enteric pathogens on children aged below five years who suffer from acute diarrhea in southwest ***:A total of 1020 subjects(850 diarrhea cases and 170 healthy controls)were selected from four sentinel hospitals in Kunming,Yunnan province,southwest China,from June 2014 to July *** specimens were collected to detect five virus(rotavirus group A,RVA;norovirus,NoV;Sapovirus,SaV;astrovirus,As;and adenovirus,Ad),seven bacterial(diarrheagenic Escherichia coli,DEC;non-typhoidal Salmonella,NTS;Shigella spp.;Vibrio cholera;Vibrio parahaemolyticus;Aeromonas spp.;and Plesiomonas spp.),and three protozoan(Cryptosporidium spp.,Giardia lamblia,and Blastocystis hominis,***)species using standard microbiologic and molecular *** were analyzed using the partial least square regression technique and chi-square ***:At least one enteric pathogen was detected in 46.7%(n=397)of acute gastroenteritis cases and 13.5%(n=23)of healthy controls(χ^(2)=64.4,P<0.05).Single infection with RVA was associated with acute diarrhea(26.5%vs.5.8%,P<0.05).The prevalence of a single infection with *** in diarrhea cases was higher than in healthy controls(3.1%vs.0.5%,OR=4.7,95%CI:1.01–112.0).Single infection with NoV GII was not associated with diarrhea(4.4%vs.3.5%,OR=1.2,95%CI:0.5–3.3).Single infections with bacterial species were not *** prevalence of co-infections with two enteric pathogens in diarrhea cases was higher than in asymptomatic children(20.1%vs.5.3%,P<0.05).RVA-NoV GII was the most common co-infection in symptomatic children(4.4%),with it aggravating the

Analysis of driving forces behind diversified carbon dioxide emission patterns in regions of the mainland of China

China has large regional disparities in carbon dioxide CO_(2) emissions with economic development among its 31 provincial mainland *** paper investigates these disparities in CO_(2) emission patterns and identifies the factors underlying the *** show that the 30 study China's mainland provinces(Tibet not included)can be divided into seven groups with three typical CO_(2) emission *** decomposition results indicate that changes in economic development,the industrial sector,and technology contribute far more to increased CO_(2) emissions than do population,energy structure,and other *** inspection reveals that different industry structures and technology contribute greatly to the differences observed in CO_(2) emissions between provinces with similar economic *** study highlights the importance of region-specific industrial structure adjustment policies,especially for regions transitioning to heavy industry and for those still in the primary stages of *** potential application of a domestic carbon emissions trading system,to encourage regional investment in updated technology,is also discussed.

Characterization of an Epiphytic Bacterium <i>Neptunomonas</i>sp. BPy-1 on the Gametophytes of a Red Alga <i>Pyropia yezoensis</i>

The established culture of gametophytes of the red alga Pyropia yezoensis (TU-1) is superficially colonized by epiphytic bacteria. By 16S rRNA sequencing, 6 bacterial species were identified, and a culturable bacterium, Neptunomonas sp. BPy-1, was isolated. The 16S rRNA sequences of BPy-1 showed 100% identity with that of Neptunomonas sp. 0536, a probiotic bacterium found in greenshell mussels in New Zealand. Physiological tests revealed that 22 characters were identical between BPy-1 and 0536, but that 4 characters differed. BPy-1 cannot grow in the artificial seawater used for the culture of gametophytes. BPy-1 can grow in the artificial seawater with ethanol or butanol but not in methanol or propanol. To determine the effect of BPy-1 on gametophyte growth, BPy-1 colonization was reduced by 80% using a multi-enzyme cleaner. Changing the cleaner concentration yielded two types of gametophytes, a compressed or callus-like form and a nearly normal form. BPy-1 promoted the growth of the treated gametophytes with relatively normal form, while it showed less effect on compressed gametophytes. These findings suggested that BPy-1 promotes the growth of damaged gametophytes but does not affect the development of normal gametophytes.

This article provides an overview of the recent US Iran policies by comparing the US Middle East strategy under the Biden administration to the Trump administration’s ***’s‘maximum pressure’campaign adopted various aggressive policies including withdrawing from the Iran nuclear agreement and escalating sanction measures against ***,the campaign has proven a failure as it was impeded by Iran’s countermeasures and has damaged the US international *** Biden administration has incentives to improve the US-Iran relations and restore the Iran nuclear ***,it faces constraints from both domestic politics and distrust of US *** hardliners have pressured the Biden administration to keep a tough stance on Iran and opposed the US to make concessions as it renegotiates the nuclear *** related countries including the US allies are hesitant to comply with *** terms of its Middle East strategy,Trump’s betrayal of the previous deal has brought credibility crisis to the *** the Iran nuclear talks have restarted,the future of Iran’s nuclear program remains *** is brewing among the US,Iran,and other related powers due to different national ***,the newly elected iranian presidency,led by ultra conservative leader Ebrahim Raisi’s,makes a new Iran nuclear deal more difficult to *** revive the Iran nuclear agreement,this article suggests that the Biden administration ensure Iran’s interests through cooperation and pay more attention to the social development and people’s livelihood in Iran.
