Fertility,genome stability,and homozygosity in a diverse set of resynthesized rapeseed lines

the influence of micro-climate, snow cover, and soil moisture on ecosystem functioning in high mountains

the dynamics of water and energy fluxes in the high mountains of central Norway was studied along micro-spatial topographic gradients in different altitudes and regions of the Scandes. Landscape ecological processes like sdow accumulation during winter, snow melting, evaporation, percolation, soil moisture variability and temperature variations were quantified. Combining spatio-temporal data on physical environment functioning and vegetation patterns resulted in a process-oriented characterisation of high mountain ecosystems. Extensive data from long-term measurements were synthesised illustrating the influence of micro-climate, snow cover, and soil moisture on high mountain ecosystem functioning. the results reveal that the micro-climatic impact on the vegetation is predominantly determined by snow cover overlaying soil moisture gradients. Water only becomes superior where near-surface water saturation and flooding occur. A lack of soil moisture availability was not found during any time of the year even under driest site conditions. Contrasting literature, the Norwegian mountain vegetation was found to be interpreted by environmental variable constellations excluding drought stress.

An exotic state with J^(PC)=1^(−+),denoted byη1(1855),was observed by BESIII Collaboration recently in J/ψ→γηη′.the fact that its mass is just below the threshold of KK_(1)(1400)stimulates us to investigate whether this exotic state can be interpreted as a KK_(1)(1400)+*** or *** the one boson exchange model,we show that it is possible for KK_(1)(1400)with J^(PC)=1^(−+)to bind together by taking the momentum cutoffΛ&2 GeV and yield the same binding energy as the experimental value whenΛ≈2.5 *** this molecular picture,the predicted branch ratio Br(η1(1855)→ηη′)≈15%is consistent with the experimental results,which again supports the molecular explanation ofη1(1855).Relevant systems,namely KK_(1)(1400)with JPC=1−−and KK_(1)(1270)with J^(PC)=1^(−±),are also investigated,some of which can be searched for in the future experiments.

In a recent study published in Cancer Cell,Bagaev et *** a pan-cancer tumor microenvironment(tME)classification that can be predictive of response to immune checkpoint inhibitor(ICI)therapy.1 the authors presented a detailed visualization that can be generated for each tumor,which combines the 29 functional gene expression signatures(Fges)used to subtype the tME with targetable genomic *** the compartments and pathways within the tME could aid decision-making in patient-specific treatment of cancer,especially in the context of immunotherapies.2 the increasing use of ICIs have shown promising clinical outcomes in several cancer ***,response to treatment is heterogenous and often results in immune-related adverse events.3 therefore,efforts are focused on the development of prognostic tools to predict response to *** analysis of 468 melanoma patients resulted in grouping of the tME into four major subsets based on manually curated Fges.

New WHO-reference limits--revolution or storm n a teapot？

Since release of the latest WHO manual with the new lower reference values of semen parameters, a lot of discussion has been raised about their usefulness and appropriateness for assessment of male fertility. As with the previous reference values the new limits do neither allow an andrological diagnosis based on nosological criteria nor clear-cut differentiation between fertility and sub-/infertility. therefore, considering the fact that fertility is a continuum, the new lower reference limits should not be overestimated. Most probably, more sperm function tests, such as determination of DNA integrity, and--in the future--assessment of biomarkers, such as sperm proteomics will be included into andrological work-up, thus resulting in a more personalized approach of infertility management. On the other hand, the detailed instructions for standard and advanced semen analysis provided in the new manual are very much appreciated and should be adopted by each seriously workin~ laboratory.

A real 3D scene rendering optimization method based on region of interest and viewing frustum prediction in virtual reality

As an important technology of digital construction,real 3D models can improve the immersion and realism of virtual reality(VR)*** large amount of data for real 3D scenes requires more effective rendering methods,but the current rendering optimization methods have some defects and cannot render real 3D scenes in virtual *** this study,the location of the viewing frustum is predicted by a Kalman filter,and eye-tracking equipment is used to recognize the region of interest(ROI)in the ***,the real 3D model of interest in the predicted frustum is rendered *** experimental results show that the method of this study can predict the frustrum location approximately 200 ms in advance,the prediction accuracy is approximately 87%,the scene rendering efficiency is improved by 8.3%,and the motion sickness is reduced by approximately 54.5%.these studies help promote the use of real 3D models in virtual reality and ROI recognition *** future work,we will further improve the prediction accuracy of viewing frustums in virtual reality and the application of eye tracking in virtual geographic scenes.

A dynamic holographic modelling method of digital twin scenes for bridge construction

Holographic projection technology can provide a more intuitive and efficient visualization effect for a digital twin bridge construction ***,pre-rendering methods in the existing research work are usually used to implement holographic visualization,which is static *** above-mentioned methods for static display have many shortcomings,such as poor adaptability,low rendering efficiency and lack of real-time.A dynamic holographic modelling approach is proposed for the augmented visualization of digital twin scenes for bridge ***,a dynamic segmentation algorithm with adaptive screen size was designed to high-efficiently generate holographic ***,a motion blur control method was designed to improve the rendering efficiency of holographic scenes according to human visual ***,a prototype system was developed,and the corresponding experimental analysis was *** experimental results show that the method proposed in this article can support adaptive screen size image segmentation and real-time generation of holographic scenes for bridge *** amount of scene data can be reduced to more than 30%,which significantly improves rendering efficiency and reduces glare.

Anorexia and fasting are host adaptations to acute infection, inducing a metabolic switch towards ketogenesis and the production of ketone bodies, including β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) 1-6. However, whether ketogenesis metabolically influences the immune response in pulmonary infections remains unclear. Here we report impaired production of BHB in humans with SARS-CoV-2-induced but not influenza-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). CD4^(+) t cell function is impaired in COVID-19 and BHB promotes both survival and production of Interferon-γ from CD4^(+) t cells. Using metabolic tracing analysis, we uncovered that BHB provides an alternative carbon source to fuel oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) and the production of bioenergetic amino acids and glutathione, which is important for maintaining the redox balance. t cells from patients with SARS-CoV-2-induced ARDS were exhausted and skewed towards glycolysis, but can be metabolically reprogrammed by BHB to perform OXPHOS, thereby increasing their functionality.
