Herein, the de novo synthesis of atropisomeric benzofurans through the Cu/spirocyclic-pyrrolidine-oxazoline(SPDO) complex catalyze asymmetric formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition between quinones and ynamides is explored, producing a range of structurally diverse axially chiral benzofurans in satisfactory yields with good to excellent enantioselectivities. Furthermore, density functional theory calculations were applied to explain the possible reaction mechanism.

Organic solar cells(OSCs) hold great potential as a photovoltaic technology for practical ***, the traditional experimental trial-and-error method for designing and engineering OSCs can be complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Machine learning(ML) techniques enable the proficient extraction of information from datasets, allowing the development of realistic models that are capable of predicting the efficacy of materials with commendable accuracy. The PM6 donor has great potential for high-performance OSCs. However, it is crucial for the rational design of a ternary blend to accurately forecast the power conversion efficiency(PCE) of ternary OSCs(TOSCs) based on a PM6 ***, we collected the device parameters of PM6-based TOSCs and evaluated the feature importance of their molecule descriptors to develop predictive models. In this study, we used five different ML algorithms for analysis and prediction. For the analysis, the classification and regression tree provided different rules, heuristics, and patterns from the heterogeneous dataset. The random forest algorithm outperforms other prediction ML algorithms in predicting the output performance of PM6-based TOSCs. Finally, we validated the ML outcomes by fabricating PM6-based TOSCs. Our study presents a rapid strategy for assessing a high PCE while elucidating the substantial influence of diverse descriptors.

To evaluate decolorization and detoxification of Azure B dye by a newly isolated Bacillus sp. MZS 10 strain, the cultivation medium and decolorization mechanism of the isolate were investigated. The decolorization was discovered to be dependent on cell density of the isolate and reached 93.55% （0.04 g/L） after 14 hr of cultivation in a 5 L stirred-tank fermenter at 2.0 g/L yeast extract and 6.0 g/L soluble starch and a small amount of mineral salts. The decolorization metabolites were identified with ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectroscopy （UPLC-MS）. A mechanism for decolorization of Azure B was proposed as follows： the C=N in Azure B was initially reduced to -NH by nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate （NADPH）-dependent quinone dehydrogenase, and then the -NH further combined with -OH derived from glucose to form a stable and colorless compound through a dehydration reaction. The phytotoxicity was evaluated for both Azure B and its related derivatives produced by Bacillus sp. MZS 10 decolorization, indicating that the decolorization metabolites were less toxic than original dye. The decolorization efficiency and mechanism shown by Bacillus sp. MZS10 provided insight on its potential application for the bioremediation of the dye Azure B.

Reconstruction of tyrosol synthetic pathways in Escherichia coli

Tyrosol is a pharmacologically active phenolic compound widely used in the medicine and chemical *** methods of plant extraction are complicated and chemical synthesis of tyrosol is not commercially viable. In this study, a recombinant Escherichia coli strain was constructed by overexpressing the phenylpyruvate decarboxylase ARO10 from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which could produce tyrosol from glucose. Furthermore,genes encoding key enzymes from the competing phenylalanine and tyrosine synthesis pathways and the repression protein TyrR were eliminated, and the resulting engineered strain generated 3.57 mmol·L^(-1) tyrosol from glucose. More significantly, codon optimization of ARO10 increased expression and tyrosol titer. Using the novel engineered strain expressing codon-optimized AR10 in shake-flask culture, 8.72 mmol·L^(-1) tyrosol was obtained after 48 h. Optimization of the induction conditions improved tyrosol production to 9.53 mmol·L^(-1)(1316.3 mg·L^(-1)). A higher titer of tyrosol was achieved by reconstruction of tyrosol synthetic pathway in E. coli.

The effects of neodymium nitrate （Nd^3＋） on the adventitious rooting of Dendrobium densiflorum shoot cuttings were studied. The addition of Nd^3＋（5 μmol/L） to culture medium significantly increased rooting frequency. Histological investigation showed that Nd^3＋ did not change the process of root initiation. Nd^3＋ did not influence total endogenous cytokinin levels, but significantly increased the level of endogenous indole-3-acetic acid （IAA） in the base of shoot cuttings. Compared to the control, the ratio of IAA/cytokinins was very high in the Nd^3＋ treatment. These results suggested that the enhanced rooting frequency may be related to the increase in endogenous IAA level in Nd^3＋ treatment. Analysis of enzyme activities showed that the enhanced accumulation of the endogenous IAA by Nd^3＋ should not be attributed to inhibition of IAA decomposition by IAA oxidase or promotion of cytokinin decomposition by cytokinin oxidase. Besides, Nd^3＋ increased the ratio of reduced glutathione （GSH） and oxidized glutathione （GSSG） in the process of adventitious rooting while the ratio of ascorbate （ASC） to dehydroascorbate （DHA） was not affected.

Cyclopeptidomimetics are class of cyclopeptides with unnatural linkage. They usually displayed unique constrained structure, enhanced proteolytic stability, and other drug-like character; and have been widely used in medicinal chemistry. Therefore, development of efficient strategies for the synthesis of cyclopeptidomimetics has received many attentions. On-resin cyclization strategy is one of the effective approaches developed to overcome the competing side reaction such as oligomerization and cyclooligomers occurred in solution cyclization. This approach took advantage of the ＂pseudo-dilution＂ effect to avoid these undesired by-products and greatly simplified the downstream product purification process. This review summarized the recent on-resin peptide cyclization strategies for the synthesis of cvclooeotidomimetics.

Insight into the distribution of metallic elements in membrane bioreactor: Influence of operational temperature and role of extracellular polymeric substances

The distribution of metallic elements in a submerged membrane bioreactor(MBR) was revealed at different temperatures using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES), and the role of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS) was probed by integrating scanning electron microscopy(SEM) with confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM) over long-term operation. More metallic elements in the influent were captured by suspended sludge and built up in the fouling layer at lower temperature. The concentration of metallic elements in the effluent was 5.60 mg/L at 10°C operational temperature, far lower than that in the influent(51.35 mg/L). The total contents of metallic elements in suspended sludge and the membrane fouling layer increased to 40.20 and 52.19 mg/g at 10°C compared to 35.14 and 32.45 mg/g at 30°C, and were dominated by the organically bound fraction. The EPS contents in suspended sludge and membrane fouling layer sharply increased to 37.88 and 101.51 mg/g at 10°C, compared to 16.87 and 30.03 mg/g at 30°C. The increase in EPS content at lower temperature was responsible for the deposition of more metallic ions. The strong bridging between EPS and metallic elements at lower temperature enhanced the compactness of the fouling layer and further decreased membrane flux. This was helpful for understanding the mechanism of membrane fouling at different operational temperatures and the role of EPS, and also of significance for the design of cleaning strategies for fouled membranes after long-term operation.

Bacillus amyloliquefaciens YP6,a plant growth promoting rhizobacteria,is capable of efficiently degrading a wide range of organophosphorus pesticides(OPs).Here,we report the complete genome sequence of this bacterium with a genome size of 4009619 bp,4210 protein-coding genes and an average GC content of 45.9%.Based on the genome sequence,several genes previously described as being involved in solubilizing-phosphorus,OPs-degradation,indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)and siderophores ***,compared with the genomes of *** species,strain YP6 had larger genome size and the most protein-coding ***,the four categories of“cell envelope biogenesis,outer membrane(M),”“translation,ribosomal structure and biogenesis(J),”“transcription(K),”and“signal transduction mechanisms(T)”were *** differences may be related to extensive environmental adaptability of the genus *** results expand the application potential of strain YP6 for environmental bioremediation,provide gene resources involved in OPs degradation for biotechnology and gene engineering,and contribute to provide insights into the relationship between microorganism and living environment.
