Biliary tract schwannoma:A rare cause of obstructive jaundice in a young patient

schwannoma is a tumor derived from schwann cells which usually arises in the upper extremities, trunk, head and neck, retroperitoneum, mediastinum, pelvis, and peritoneum. However, it can arise in the gastro-intestinal tract, including biliary tract. We present a 24-year-old male patient with obstructive jaundice, whose investigation with computed tomography abdomen showed focal wall thickening in the common hepatic duct, difficult to differentiate with hilar adenocarcinoma. He was diagnosed intraoperatively schwannoma of common bile duct and treated with local resection. The patient recovered well without signs of recurrence of the lesion after 12 mo. We also reviewed the common bile duct schwannoma related in the literature and evaluated the difficulty in pre and intraoperative differential diagnosis with adenocarcinoma hilar. Resection is the treatment of choice for such cases and the tumordid not recur in any of the resected cases.

A learning-based synthesis approach to decentralized supervisory control of discrete event systems with unknown plants

In this paper, we consider the problem of automatic synthesis of decentralized supervisor for uncertain discrete event systems. In particular, we study the case when the uncontrolled plant is unknown a priori. To deal with the unknown plants, we first characterize the conormality of prefix-closed regular languages and propose formulas for computing the supremal conormal sublanguages; then sufficient conditions for the existence of decentralized supervisors are given in terms of language controllability and conormality and a learning-based algorithm to synthesize the supervisor automatically is proposed. Moreover, the paper also studies the on-line decentralized supervisory control of concurrent discrete event systems that are composed of multiple interacting unknown modules. We use the concept of modular controllability to characterize the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the local supervisors, which consist of a set of local supervisor modules, one for each plant module and which determines its control actions based on the locally observed behaviors, and an on-line learning-based local synthesis algorithm is also presented. The correctness and convergence of the proposed algorithms are proved, and their implementation are illustrated through examples.

By tilting a plasma jet and rotating 360°,a large-area can be scanned and sterilized in a short *** with the previous array device,this pipe has the significant advantages of high sterilization uniformity and low gas ***,a rotatable plasma jet device,which can control the swing and rotation of a jet pipe,is designed,and a corresponding theoretical model is established to guide the ***,with staphylococcus aureus(***)and Escherichia coli(***)as the target bacteria,the device achieves a short sterilization time of 158 s—the minimum sterilization flow of *** and *** is 0.8 slm and 0.6 slm,*** device is compared with an array plasma sterilization device in terms of sterilization speed and gas *** results show that the device is not only better than an array plasma sterilization device with respect to scanning uniformity,but also far less than the array plasma sterilization device in gas consumption of 5 ***,the device has great potential in applications involving efficient,large-area sterilization.

Automatic registration of unordered point clouds is the prerequisite forurban reconstruction. However, most of the existing technologies stillsuffer from some limitations. On one hand, most of them are sensitive tonoise and repetitive structures, which makes them infeasible for theregistration of large-scale point clouds. On the other hand, most of themdealing with point clouds with limited overlaps and unpredictablelocation. All these problems make it difficult for registration technology toobtain qualified results in outdoor point cloud. To overcome theselimitations, this paper presents a grid graph-based point cloud registration(GGR) algorithm to align pairwise scans. First, point cloud is divided into aset of 3D grids. We propose a voting strategy to measure the similaritybetween two grids based on feature descriptor, transforming thesuperficial correspondence into 3D grid expression. Next, a graphmatching is proposed to capture the spatial consistency from putativecorrespondences, and graph matching hierarchically refines thecorresponding grids until obtaining point-to-point *** experiments demonstrated that the proposed algorithmobtains good performance in terms of successful registration rate, rotationerror, translation error, and outperformed the state-of-the-art approaches.

In transplantation immunology, the ultimate goal is always to successfully and specifically induce immune tolerance of allografts. Tolerogenic dendritic cells （toI-DCs） with immunoregulatory functions have attracted much attention as they play important roles in inducing and maintaining immune tolerance. Here, we focused on tol-DCs that have the potential to promote immune tolerance after solid-organ transplantation. We focus on their development and interactions with other regulatory cells, and we also explore various toI-DC engineering protocols. Harnessing tol-DCs represents a promising cellular therapy for promoting long-term graft functional survival in transplant recipients that will most likely be achieved in the future.

The partial least squares(PLs)method has been successfully applied for fault diagnosis in indus-trial *** with the traditional PLs methods,the modified PLs(MPLs)approach is available for slow-time-varying data processing and quality-relevant fault ***-ever,it encounters heavy computational load in model updating,and the static control limits often lead to the low fault detection rate(FDR)or high false alarm rate(FAR).In this article,we first introduce the recursive MPLs(RMPLs)method for quality-relevant fault detection and computational complexity reducing,and then combine the local information increment(LII)method to obtain the time-varying control ***,the proposed LII-RMPLs method is capa-ble of quality-relevant faults ***,the adaptive threshold leads to higher FDRs and lower FARs compared with traditional ***,the adaptive parameter-matrices-based model updating approach ensures that the proposed method has better robustness and lower computational complexity when dealing with time-varying factors.

A closed system of equations describing an asymmetric disturbance in cylindrical geometry is expanded about a small parameter. The small parameter describes the ratio of the magnitude of divergence in the boundary layer to that above that layer. A low order system describes a gradient wind balance in the radial direction and is quasi-symmetric with respect to the pressure and temperature fields. This system can be solved as an inverse problem for a mature steady state hurricane. The procedure entails asking the questions what structure and heating distributions are required to maintain a given asymmetric distribution of the tangential velocity (i. e. the angular momentum) in steady state. The method of characteristics enables us to solve for the vertical motion. That in turn determines the radial motion from the mass continuity equation. The treatment of relapsing primary nephrotic syndrome in children

Objective: To explore better therapy and reduce the rate of re-relapse of primary nephritic syndrome in children who had been treated with corticosteroids but relapsed. Methods: Eighty relapsers were enrolled from Jan. 1994 to Apr. 2000, who were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group (n=39) had been treated with tripterysium glucosides for three months,with the control group (n=41) members were treated with cyclophosphmide (CTX) by intermission intravenous pulse, with total dose of CTX not being more than 150 mg/kg. Prednisone, meanwhile, was given to both groups. The total treatment period of prednisone was prolonged by 12-18 months. Results: After following up for 3-7 years, the re-relapse rates of both groups were observed. The re-relapse rate of the treatment group was 28.2% to 29.3% in the CTX-controlled group. The re-relapse rates between two groups were almost similar, and with no observed significant difference (P>0.05). The side effect of tripterysium glucosides was less than that of CTX. Conclusion: For the treatment of relapsing nephritic syndrome in children, the combination of tripterysium glucosides and prolonged corticosteroid therapy is as effective as the regimen of CTX plus prolonged use of prednisone.

In recent years,vehicle re‐identification has attracted more and more *** to learn the discriminative information from multi‐view vehicle images becomes one of the challenging problems in vehicle re‐identification *** example,when the viewpoint of the image changes,the features extracted from one image may be lost in another image.A two‐branch network with pyramid‐based local and spatial attention global feature learning(PsA)is proposed for vehicle re‐identification to solve this ***,one branch learns local features at different scales by building pyramid from coarse to fine and the other branch learns attentive global features by using spatial attention ***,pooling operation by using global maximum pooling(GMP)for local features and global average pooling(GAP)for global feature is ***,local feature vectors and global feature vector extracted from the last pooling layer,respectively,are employed for identity re‐*** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves state‐of‐the‐art results on the VeRi‐776 dataset and VehicleID dataset.
