Creeping fat and gut microbiota in Crohn’s disease

In this article,we explored the role of adipose tissue,especially mesenteric adipose tissue and creeping fat,and its association with the gut microbiota in the pathophysiology and progression of Crohn’s disease(CD).CD is a form of inflammatory bowel disease characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract,influenced by genetic predisposition,gut microbiota dysbiosis,and environmental *** microbiota plays a crucial role in modulating immune response and intestinal inflammation and is associated with the onset and progression of ***,visceral adipose tissue,particularly creeping fat,a mesenteric adipose tissue characterized by hypertrophy and fibrosis,has been implicated in CD pathogenesis,inflammation,and *** bacteria from the gut microbiota may translocate into mesenteric adipose tissue,contributing to the formation of creeping fat and influencing CD *** creeping fat may be a protective barrier against bacterial invasion,its expansion can damage adjacent tissues,leading to *** gut microbiota through interventions such as fecal microbiota transplantation,probiotics,and prebiotics has shown potential in managing ***,more research is needed to clarify the mechanisms linking gut dysbiosis,creeping fat,and CD progression and develop targeted therapies for microbiota modulation and fat-related complications in patients with CD.

Plant cell wall(CW)-like soft materials,referred to as artificial CWs,are composites of assembled polymers containing micro-/nanoparticles or fibers/fibrils that are designed to mimic the composition,structure,and mechanics of plant ***-like materials have recently emerged to test hypotheses pertaining to the intricate structure–property relationships of native plant CWs or to fabricate functional ***,research on plant CWs and CW-like materials is reviewed by distilling key studies on biomimetic composites primarily composed of plant polysaccharides,including cellulose,pectin,and hemicellulose,as well as organic polymers like ***-and nanofabrication of plant CW-like composites,characterization techniques,and in silico studies are reviewed,with a brief overview of current and potential ***-/nanofabrication approaches include bacterial growth and impregnation,layer-by-layer assembly,film casting,3-dimensional templating microcapsules,and particle *** characterization techniques are necessary for the comprehensive mechanical,chemical,morphological,and structural analyses of plant CWs and CW-like ***-like materials demonstrate versatility in real-life applications,including biomass conversion,pulp and paper,food science,construction,catalysis,and reaction *** review seeks to facilitate the rational design and thorough characterization of plant CW-mimetic materials,with the goal of advancing the development of innovative soft materials and elucidating the complex structure–property relationships inherent in native CWs.

Effectiveness of sub-acromial injections in rotator cuff injuries:A systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGRoUND Sub-acromial injections are a therapeutic option for rotator cuff injuries;however,evidence regarding the most effective drug in this context is unclear,which needs to be *** To evaluate the effectiveness of various sub-acromial injections for rotator cuff *** We conducted a systematic review and pair-wise and network meta-analyses of randomized clinical trials(RCTs)comparing sub-acromial injections for rotator cuff *** interventions evaluated were hyaluronic acid(HA),platelet-rich plasma(PRP),prolotherapy,and *** outcomes of interest were pain and functional improvement,which were evaluated with standardized *** Risk of Bias 2 tool and the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluation methodology were used to assess data *** Twenty RCTs,comprising 1479 participants,were *** the short term,HA achieved the best outcomes[pain mean difference(MD)=-1.48,95%confidence interval(CI)-2.37 to-0.59;function MD=10.18,95%CI:4.96-15.41].In the medium term,HA,PRP,HA+PRP,and corticosteroids were not superior to placebo in improving *** on function,HA+PRP was superior to placebo,corticosteroids,and PRP(MD=26.72;95%CI:8.02-45.41).In the long term,HA,PRP,and corticosteroids were not superior to placebo in reducing ***,based on function,HA+PRP,PRP,and HA were superior to placebo,and HA+PRP had the best result(MD=36.64;95%CI:31.66-33.62).CoNCLUSIoN HA provides satisfactory short-term results,while HA with PRP demonstrates functional improvement in the medium and long ***,no intervention maintained the pain-relief effect on>3-month follow-up.

Let-7 microRNA targets BmCentrin to modulate the development and functionality of the middle silk gland in the silkworm,Bombyx mori

The silk gland of the silkworm Bombyx mori serves as a valuable model for investigating the morphological structure and physiological functions of *** studies have demonstrated the notable regulatory role of let-7 microRNA in the silk gland,but its specific molecular mechanism remains to be elucidated across different segments of this *** this study,we further investigated the functional mechanism of let-7 in the middle silk gland(MSG).The MSG of a let-7 knockout strain was analyzed using a combined proteomic and metabolomic technique,revealing the enrichment of differential proteins and metabolites in the DNA synthesis and energy metabolism *** was identified as a novel target gene of let-7 in the MSG,and its downregulation inhibited the proliferation of BmN4-SID1 cells,which is exactly opposite to the role of let-7 in these ***/Cas9 genome editing and transgenic technologies were employed to manipulate BmCentrin in the *** of BmCentrin led to severe MSG atrophy,whereas the overexpression of BmCentrin resulted in beaded *** measurements of these knockout or overexpression strains revealed significant changes in the expression levels of sericin protein genes,the weight of the cocoon and the mechanical properties of the *** the biological role of BmCentrin in the silk gland offers valuable insights for elucidating the molecular mechanisms by which let-7 controls silk gland development and silk protein synthesis in the silkworm.

Dear Editor,This letter studies the bipartite consensus tracking problem for heterogeneous multi-agent systems with actuator faults and a leader's unknown time-varying control input. To handle such a problem, the continuous fault-tolerant control protocol via observer design is developed. In addition, it is strictly proved that the multi-agent system driven by the designed controllers can still achieve bipartite consensus tracking after faults occur.

Mesoporous metals with large surface area,high pore volume,and uniform pore structure hold excellent advantages for various ***,the state-of-the-art synthesis methods are still limited to wet chemistry,which requires excessive solvents and a time-consuming drying ***,we report a facile and general mechanochemical coordination self-assembly strategy to prepare mesoporous metals(e.g.,Rh,Ru,Ir,Pt,Pd,Ag,Co,and Ni)with remarkable porous properties by using metal chlorides and cationic polymer *** with the wet chemistry process,this method proceeds without solvents and does not need complicated experimental conditions and long synthetic periods,which not only greatly reduces the consumption of cost and energy and environmental pollution,but also improves the synthesis efficiency and yield of target *** believe the developed approach will provide a general pathway for the scalable preparation of advanced porous materials.

Investigation of bubbles escape behavior from low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels using 3D X-ray microscope

During the continuous casting process of high-Mn high-Al steels,various types of gases such as Ar need to escape through the top of the *** which,the behavior of bubbles traversing the liquid slag serves as a restrictive link,closely associated with viscosity and the thickness of liquid *** contrast to two-dimensional surface observation,three-dimensional(3D)analysis method can offer a more intuitive,accurate,and comprehensive ***,this study employs a 3D X-ray microscope(3D-XRM)to obtained spatial distribution and 3D morphological characteristics of residual bubbles in mold flux under different basicity of liquid slag,different temperatures,and different holding *** results indicate that as basicity of slag increases from 0.52 to 1.03,temperature increases from 1423 to 1573 K,the viscosity of slag decreases,the floating rate of bubbles *** addition,when holding time increases from 10 to 30 s,the bubbles floating distance increases,and the volume fraction and average equivalent sphere diameter of the bubbles solidified in the mold flux gradually *** one word,increasing the basicity,temperature,and holding time leading to an increase in the removal rate of bubbles especially for the *** findings of bubbles escape behavior provide valuable insights into optimizing low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels.
