Physical energies to the rescue of damaged tissues

Rhythmic oscillatory patterns sustain cellular dynamics, driving the concerted action of regulatory molecules, microtubules, and molecular motors. We describe cellular microtubules as oscillators capable of synchronization and swarming, generating mechanical and electric patterns that impact biomolecular recognition. We consider the biological relevance of seeing the inside of cells populated by a network of molecules that behave as bioelectronic circuits and chromophores. We discuss the novel perspectives disclosed by mechanobiology, bioelectromagnetism, and photobiomodulation, both in term of fundamental basic science and in light of the biomedical implication of using physical energies to govern (stem) cell fate. We focus on the feasibility of exploiting atomic force microscopy and hyperspectral imaging to detect signatures of nanomotions and electromagnetic radiation (light), respectively, generated by the stem cells across the specification of their multilineage repertoire. The chance is reported of using these signatures and the diffusive features of physical waves to direct specifically the differentiation program of stem cells in situ, where they already are resident in all the tissues of the human body. We discuss how this strategy may pave the way to a regenerative and precision medicine without the needs for (stem) cell or tissue transplantation. We describe a novel paradigm based upon boosting our inherent ability for self-healing.

太阳能热发电换热管主要材料渗铝321钢的损伤会导致换热管的寿命缩短甚至断裂,因此必须进行损伤检测。采用声发射方法对渗铝321钢的损伤特性进行分析,实现对换热管性能的在线动态监测。通过采用声发射ib值特征来表征渗铝321钢的损伤程度,并运用自组织映射(SOM)神经网络算法进行声发射特征参数聚类,以分析材料的损伤模式。结果表明,力学塑性阶段的声发射事件数量剧增,能量和振铃计数的峰值标志着试件的断裂。此外,在试件失效前,ib值显著降低且密度变密集,表明ib值的变化特征可以作为材料临界失效的预警信号。通过SOM算法对特征参数进行聚类分析得到4个簇及其对应的特征频率,并使用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)观察试件的断口形貌,得出4个簇分别对应于孔洞生长与汇合、微裂纹成核、宏观裂纹扩展和纤维状断裂4类损伤模式。这项研究旨在探索金属管材的损伤演化行为,并为管材的损伤分析和健康监测提供依据。

Maintaining and optimising the intestinal barrier(ib)function in poultry has important implications for the health and performance of the *** a key aspect of the ib,intestinal permeability(IP)is mainly controlled by complex junctional proteins called tight junction proteins(TJ)that link enterocytes *** disruption of TJ is associated with increased gut leakage with possible subsequent impli-cations for bacterial translocation,intestinal inflammation,compromised health and performance of the *** considerable data being available for other species,research on IP in broiler chickens and in general avian species is still an understudied *** paper reviews the available literature with a specific focus on IP in broiler chickens with consideration given to practical factors affecting the IP,current assessment methods,markers and nutritional modulation of *** experimental models to induce gut leakage are discussed including pathogens,rye-based diets,feed deprivation and stress-inducing agents such as exogenous glucocorticoids and heat *** various markers including fluorescein isothiocyanate dextran,expression of TJ and bacterial translocation have been widely utilized to study IP,recent studies have identified a number of excreta biomarkers to evaluate intestinal integrity,in particular non-invasive *** the research on various nutrients and feed additives to potentially modulate IP is still at an early stage,the most promising outcomes are anticipated for probiotics,prebiotics,amino acids and those feed ingredients,nutrients and additives with anti-inflammatory *** research gaps are identified for the mechanistic mode of action of various nutrients to influence IP under different experimental *** modulation of IP through various strategies(*** manipulation of diet)may be regarded as a new frontier for disease prevention and improving the health and performance of poultry particul

Distribution and Prevalence of Serotypes of Group B Streptococcus Isolated from Pregnant Women in 30 Countries:A Systematic Review

Objective:This review aimed to compile scientific data on the distribution and prevalence of group BStreptococcus (GBS) serotypes isolated from pregnant women across 30 countries from 2010 to ***:This was a systematic review that addresses the distribution and prevalence of GBS in pregnant *** search included studies published between January 2010 and December 2019 in PubMed,Virtual Health Library (BVS),ScienceDirect,Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO),and LILACS *** also surveyed relevant articles published in English,Spanish,and Portuguese between February and April *** articles,communication,short report,theses,and dissertations were *** prevalence of GBS colonization,method for capsular serotyping,antimicrobial resistance,distribution and prevalence of serotypes were extracted from each ***:In all,795 publications were *** applying the eligibility criteria,48 articles were included for the final systematic analysis;most articles were from Asia and were published during the years 2014 to *** the identification of serotypes,most studies used the polymerase chain reaction *** were records of all 10 GBS serotypes,namely,Ia,ib,and II–IX,among the countries *** susceptibility and resistance to antibiotics were addressed in 37.5% of the publications ***:This review showed that GBS serotypes are distributed differently in the 30 analyzed countries,with serotypes Ia,ib,and II to V being the most ***,our results highlighted the relationship of GBS with maternal colonization,implications for neonates,and antibiotic resistance.

The South China Block(SCB)is among the large-scale W-Sn mineralized regions of the *** Laojunshan W-Sn-dominant ore area(LOA)in the western part of the SCB preserves the records of the tectonic history of the Tethys realm extending through North Vietnam,and Yangtze to Cathaysia blocks,with coeval formation of giant metallic *** prolonged tectonic activities and their control on the genesis and spatio-temporal distribution of giant metallic deposits in the LOA provide a window for a holistic understanding of the tectono-metallogenesis of the *** this study,we present results from a multi-chronologic study to determine the timing of formation of the cassiterite-wolframite-schee lite *** results suggest three distinct tectono-metallogenic periods in the LOA during the geodynamic evolution of the surrounding tectonic *** opening of the Proto-Tethys Ocean between the Yangtze-Indochina blocks and the westward Paleo-Pacific subduction beneath the Cathaysia block(420–380 Ma)jointly contributed to the Silurian to early Devonian intracontinental orogeny in the middle of the SCB that involved top-to-the-north thrusting along NE-striking shear *** event generated the Dulong-Song Chay granitoids,together with the formation of Xinzhai Sn deposit related to sheared mylonitic granites(ca.419 Ma)and pegmatites(ca.389 Ma),which include the early-stage Sn-sulfide skarn(ca.418 Ma)and the late-stage Sn-bearing schist(ca.389 Ma).During the Late Permian to Late Triassic(260–220 Ma),with the closure of the Proto-Tethys oceans in the west and ongoing Paleo-Pacific westward subduction in the east,the SCB and Indochina Block(ib)were amalgamated which also marks the time of formation of the Nanwenhe scheelite skarn *** subducted PaleoTethys oceanic crust was likely entrained by the nearby rising Emeishan mantle plume(270–259 Ma),which formed the Maguan diabase(ca.260 Ma)that shows significantly older Re-Os model age of ca.268 Ma,suggesting
