Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned randomly to the sham operated control,Orthotopic Liver transplantation(OLT), PostC(OLT followed occlusion and re-open the portal vein for different time intervals);the PostC group was then divided into 4 subgroups (10×3,n=5;10×6,n=5;30×3,n=5;60×3,n=5).Serum transaminases(ALT,AST),histopathologic changes,malondialdehyde(MDA), and myeloperoxidase(MPO)were *** of p-Akt were also determined by western blot.

An autapse is an unusual synapse that occurs between the axon and the soma of the same neuron. Mathematically, it can be described as a self-delayed feedback loop that is defined by a specific time-delay and the so-called autaptic coupling strength. Recently, the role and function of autapses within the nervous system has been studied extensively. Here, we extend the scope of theoretical research by investigating the effects of an autapse on the transmission of a weak localized pacemaker activity in a scale-free neuronal network. Our results reveal that by mediating the spiking activity of the pacemaker neuron, an autapse increases the propagation of its rhythm across the whole network, if only the autaptic time delay and the autaptic coupling strength are properly adjusted. We show that the autapse-induced enhancement of the transmission of pacemaker activity occurs only when the autaptic time delay is close to an integer multiple of the intrinsic oscillation time of the neurons that form the network. In particular, we demonstrate the emergence of multiple resonances involving the weak signal, the intrinsic oscillations, and the time scale that is dictated by the autapse. Interestingly, we also show that the enhancement of the pacemaker rhythm across the network is the strongest if the degree of the pacemaker neuron is lowest. This is because the dissipation of the localized rhythm is contained to the few directly linked neurons, and only afterwards, through the secondary neurons, it propagates further. If the pacemaker neuron has a high degree, then its rhythm is simply too weak to excite all the neighboring neurons, and propagation therefore fails.

The research concerns Roman medical galactology, galaktologia iatrike （γαλακτσλσγια ιατρικη）, i.e. the ancient knowledge of milk and its by-products in medical procedures as described by Celsus in his treatise entitled De medicina. The authors elaborate on the sources of Celsus＇ medical theory of milk, comment on the place of the Roman author＇s theory against the doctrinal background of other medical writers of the period, demonstrate pharmacological characteristics attributed to milk and milk-obtained products by Celsus, specify main cures in which milk and its by-products were made use of as either simple or compound medicines, give examples of the latter, delineate the progress of the theory on milk＇s medicinal use, and finally comment on the role of milk and milk-obtained products in the diet of the Mediterranean.

Identification of Common Species of Dermatophytes by PCR-RFLP

To establish a simple, sensitive and effective technique for the identification of six common dermatopbytes, polymerase chain reaction （PCR） and PCR-restriction fragment length polymorpbism （RFLP） targeting Topoisomerase Ⅱ gene were used. The DNA of 6 common dermatopbytes was amplified by primer dPsD1 and then primers dPsD2. The products generated by dPsD2 were digested with restriction enzyme Hinc Ⅱ and Hinf Ⅰ separately. A DNA fragment of about 3390 bp was amplified by using primer dPsD1 from the genomic DNA of each dermatopbyte species. The product of dPsD2 was 2380 bp and the restriction profiles of Hinc Ⅱ and Hinf Ⅰ were between 58-1670 bp. By using PCR-RFLP, all of the 6 dermatopbytoses were diagnosed to species level and no obvious difference identification between Hinc Ⅱ and Hinf Ⅰ. It is concluded that the PCR-RFLP identification of dermatopbytes by Hinc Ⅱ or Hinf Ⅰ is efficient and rapid in clinical practice.

Electronic and optical properties of CdS/CdZnS nanocrystals

Cd1-xZnxS nanocrystals are prepared by a co-precipitation method with different atomic fractions of Zn. The texture, structural transformation and optical properties with increasing x value in Cd1-xZnxS are studied with scanning electron microscopy, electron diffraction patterning, and absorption spectra respectively. Quantum confinement in a strained CdS/Cd1-xZnxS related nanodot with various Zn content values is investigated theoretically. Binding energies on exciton bound CdS/CdxZn1-xS quantum dot are computed, with consideration of the internal electric field induced by the spontaneous and piezoelectric polarizations, and thereby the interband emission energy is calculated as a function of the dot radius. The optical band gap from the UV absorption spectrum is compared with the interband emission energy computed theoretically. Our results show that the average diameter of composite nanoparticles ranges from 3 nm to 6 nm. The X-ray diffraction pattern shows that all the peaks shift towards the higher diffracting angles with an increase in Zn content. The lattice constant gradually decreases as the Zn content increases. The strong absorption edge shifts towards the lower wavelength region and hence the band gap of the films increases as the Zn content increases. The values of the absorption edge are found to shift towards the shorter wave length region and hence the direct band gap energy varies from 2.5 eV for the CdS film and 3.5 eV for the ZnS film. Our numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Empirical observations indicate that the interevent time distribution of human actions exhibits heavy-tailed features. The queuing model based on task priorities is to some extent successful in explaining the origin of such heavy tails, however, it cannot explain all the temporal statistics of human behavior especially for the daily entertainments. We propose an interest-driven model, which can reproduce the power-law distribution of interevent time. The exponent can be analytically obtained and is in good accordance with the simulations. This model well explains the observed relationship between activities and power-law exponents, as reported recently for web-based behavior and the instant message communications.

A generalized neutral stochastic functional differential equation(NSFDE) with Markovian switching is studied. We will discuss some important properties of the solutions including boundedness and exponential stability by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional,Matrix inequality and some analysis techniques. Finally, an numerical example for neutral stochastic neural networks with Markovian switching is given to show the effectiveness of the results in this paper.
